Yes, this is a good bye to Sanskaar as we knew him. The straight thinking, clear headed, purposeful, knowing where he was going (even when wrong), Sanskaar. The Sanskaar who could divine with one straight look, what lay behind a person's face. The Sanskaar who when he fell, fell so hard, he wouldnt compromise with it even if his loved one refused him. The Sanskaar who we all fell in love, when he fell in love with Swara, so very selflessly that no one, not even his own self mattered anymore when it came to her happiness.
The Sanskaar we see today is a pale shadow of that loved Sanskaar. We overlooked this Sanskaar not forgiving his Swara when she begged him to forgive her for not trusting him - we even said that perhaps she deserved it. We looked away when he castigated her for making him her kathputlui - both him and us conveniently forgetting that even she wanted him to opt out, he was the one who refused to leave her alone. We forgave him for turning away, ignoring, raging, not listening to her desperate pleas to sort out what she really felt for him.
Hell, we still gave him the benefit of the doubt, hoping it was him just play acting to hide a smarter plan for Ragini's defeat, when he allowed her public shaming, her breakdown at the temple, her being on her knees while begging him to allow her to prove her love.
We got, yes, a fantastic Swasan scene where he acknowledges that she could love him, and the resultant "Swara" and a "Sach Ma" to Shomi and some tense calls to Swara at the party. And thankfully a much awaited "Meri patni" confirmation that kept the faith going.
But today was inexcusable. "Cometh the hour, Cometh the man"...and today, Sanskaar had feet of clay when it came to the crux. When the time came to stand up like a man and quietly but firmly and honestly tell his ex-love (cant and wont use her name) that he had moved on, he looked away and cheated his ex love, himself and most importantly the person he purportedly loves the most, by saying that he was the same Sanskaar as he was before ! And in that, allowing his love to be torn apart yet again, something our old Sanskaar would never have allowed.
If Swara had broken his trust by doubting him in the kidnap fiasco, then Sanskaar today broke hers a million times over. Is it any wonder that she left MM as she did? To her credit, she left it in his hands to take the final call..and he heard it and knows it, and per the grapevine, still doesnt own up to the truth?
Then he deserves all the heartbreak and no I wont be sorry for him at all.
Sadly, he will also break Swara's heart, repeatedly, with this. And if his exlove is innocent (which I can bet my best bet, she is NOT), then he is creating another lost cause there as well.
The CVs of Indian telly just killed another much loved character..and while the Swasan love will be redeemed through a reconciliation, the Sanskaar as we knew him, is history. More Swasan moments will surely be around, but the true blue Swasan magic of an ardent, selfless, all encompassing love by Sanskaar - that has ended.
PS:- Wished to add that VK remains a superb Sanskaar to Helly's equally flawless Swara...kudos to both for keeping us enthralled with your histrionics. Its sad though that both characters have been made to look so foolish even slap-worthy, over the months...
