Shesha did 100 tapasya to become a icchadhari naagin, in the first episode she talked about a sad ending to a love story. perhaps that means, someone killed her lover and that could be past life's rithik.

meaning, shesha's story is not connected to rithik's lookalike?

they messed up!!??...100 years thing has been mentioned many times in the show, not just one time...even Shivanya's mother also was shown, saying in flashback, one needs to do penance of 100 years to become an icchadhari naag/naagin...and Sesha did penance of 100 years (I think they can't mess up story at least on this matter)...but if they shows any such stuff that doesn't makes any sense with earlier things shown...than it would be absolute blunder...purely illogical stuff😒😒

At this juncture, Sesha's story looks like connected with man in portrait and he doesn't seems to be father of Ritik to me ...may be grandfather or any previous ancestor, who has again taken birth as Ritik(if we look at everything that is shown till now(including Sesha) and not just few specific things)

sad ending of love story...Sesha might probably meant about sad ending of Shivanya's parents love story...it had very sad and painful end...In one of the episode, if i remember, Shivanya said, how much her parents loved each other...so it may also be possible...my guess

i think that lookalike is rithik's father, otherwise why would anky and yamini try so hard to hide the portrait? they don't want him to find out about his true lineage and whatever crime anky has committed.

because of Sesha's monologue, 100 years thing, Ritik's dream about Sesha...am not able to completely convince my self on any one part of story😕...some how it looks mixture of many relatable things at same time or different time, that is making it complicated n confusing

so may b sesha took 100 yrs to turn into naagin bt her love with ritik father is only 20 yr old...may b she was ditched or culprit... who is waiting forr her revenge from last 20 year

naagin turned into human after 100 years penance!!!...how?? or did you mean human turned into naagin after penance...but I guess, a human probably can't turn into snake or icchadhari snake even after 100 years penance...because in flashback, Shivanya's mother was saying, one snake needs to do penance of 100 years to become an icchadhari snake...so basically, a human can't turn into snake(if we just go by her words)

and regarding 20 saal ka intezzar...she said, 20 saal ka intezzar ka baad yeh moka mila hai, but before this, she also said, 100 saal ki kadin tapasaya ki hai maina icchadhari naagin banna ka liye(again by words it looks, for turning from normal snake to icchadhari snake, she did 100 years penance and something might happened 100 years back)... we can't ignore 100 years line

her connection with Ritik's father🤔... 100 years timeline(with her words)... Ritik seeing Sesha in her dreams and she saying, 'tum sirf mere ho' creates doubts regarding her love relationship with Ritik's father...because 20 years back, Ritik was already born, so, Ritik can't be case of his father's rebirth(if Ritik's father is really dead, as he may be alive also😉)... so why he is having Sesha's nightmares(if we go by theory that Ritik's father had some love kinda connection/relationship with Sesha)
