Saiyaara Male lead is overrated!!!
ONE MONTH TIME 3.8
Alright, just happened to read the latest update...
This story is surely topping the chart of my favourite FFs.
So, party did go well, except for the last thing that included Geet's reckless fighting stunts..
Maan was angry and he got even more furious when he heard Geet talking to a guy..
Poor Mr. Khurana couldn't keep his jealousy in check.
Dev and dadima had gotten the whiff of something cooking between Maaneet.
Dev has got great sniffing power as he's able to sniff what's brewing.
Annie need to wake up and smell the coffee else later she's going to regret on missing out such interesting happenings around her..
Geet on a date with Viren... I hope he doesn't die with the bare hands of Maan Khurana!
CHAPTER 16. MAAN GETS JEALOUS PART II!
"Viren!"
"Geet!"
Viren grinned as Geet arrived at their meeting point. They had decided to meet outside the hall the party was in, the day before.
"Chalo! Main aaj tumhein na duniya ghumaaungi!", Geet spoke.
"Duniya ghumaaungi? You mean you will spin the world?", Viren was confused.
"Offo!", Geet slapped her forehead, "No! I mean I will show you the world!"
"Aha! No thanks! I have gone on world tour many times! Europe! America! Africa! I have been on almost all continents!", Viren replied with a smile.
Geet looked at him as if he was an alien, "Arre baba! It was a phrase! That's how people... Ugg! You know what? Forget it!", Geet shook her head and closed her eyes. Babaji! If you did want me to give an English speaking friend, atleast you could have taught him basic hindi phrases! This is too much!
Geet opened her eyes, "I will give you a tour of Dilli! I will show you Laal Qilla, Qutub Minar...",
Viren cut her off with, "Geet! Stop!"
Geet frowned and Viren continued in amusement, "I have been in India for many years Geet! Don't you think I must have seen these places by now?"
Geet pouted, "Phir kyun mujhe yahaan bulaaya? Why did you call me here and asked me to show you Dilli?"
Viren huffed, "My dear Geet! I want to see Dilli from your eyes! You have lived here for years! These historic monuments are things that are shown to tourists but what I want to see your version of Dilli! What you think is Dilli for you!"
Geet blinked as she processed his words. And then she smiled, "I got it! Come! Let me show you my world! And I am starting with my old Office!"
Viren grinned, "Alright! Lets get in the car!"
Viren walked towards the car when Geet called out, "Car?"
He frowned at her and she grinned, "Arre! You want to see my Dilli right? Then you have to see it my way!"
Geet walked ahead and called out for a rickshaw. Viren's eyes widened, "What? Rickshaw? No! No! No! No! No! No way I am going in a rickshaw!"
Geet shrugged, "You are the one who wanted to see the world my way! Now get in!", Geet ordered as she got into the rickshaw in front of her. Viren hesitated but then his curiosity worn out and he followed her.
Soon they arrived at a corner shop and both got down. "This is my first office in Dilli!", Geet announced. Viren blinked as he took a look at it. A small shop squeezed into a small corner, the shop looked like it had seen better days before but was now deteriorating. It was small showroom of jewelry and Viren realised that Geet worked here when she came to Dilli first. This was her humble beginnings.
"We cannot go in! The owner hates me!", Geet winced.
Viren frowned, "But why?"
Geet rolled her eyes, "His son tried to... How am I supposed to say it... lets just say that he was creep and leave it at that!"
Viren looked at her alarmed, "He did not..."
"No! No! No! Nothing like that!", Geet shook her head, "He just tried to keep on proposing me even after I rejected him. And when I complained to the father he took his son's side and asked me to marry his son or get thrown out of the job! Long story short, I quit!"
"If you quit, then why the hell did you bring me here?", Viren was confused.
Geet chuckled, "Because of that!" She pointed to the opposite side of the road and Viren turned to see a stall.
"Chaat pakodi!", Geet squealed as she grabbed Viren's hand and dragged him away.
Chaat pakodi? Now what was that? Viren wondered as they stopped in front of the stall. Before he knew it, Geet ordered two plates and he was holding one of them. "Eat!", Geet ordered and Viren hesitatingly took a bite. But his hesitation vanished once he got a taste of it. It was delicious. Soon both were happily munching on it. "This is why I brought you here!", Geet told him once they were finished with the dish, "I used to come here every weekend and eat it as a treat for surviving another week with the cheapo!"
Viren chuckled at the face she made when she mentioned the owner's son. Soon they were out of there and Geet dragged him into another rickshaw.
Next stop was Chandni Chowk. Here Geet showed Viren the building she leaved in with some of her friends on rent. She even introduced some of the neighbours. Next she dragged him to nearby market where she had a blast trying out different earrings and jewelries. She refused to allow him to buy her anything but she did enjoy trying them all. Viren simply could not look away from the girl. It was the first time he met a girl, so brave, so cheerful, so excited and not at all like those prim and proper society girls that his Bua kept on throwing at him.
Geet brought Viren out of his thoughts when she asked him to join her in eating golgappe. Viren very happily accepted her invite and enjoyed eating spicy golgappe with her. As they ate, Geet asked him a question, "You don't mind eating street food? As far as I know, rich people tend to avoid eating at road!" Her voice seemed surprised. Viren shrugged, "While I may not have eaten street food in India, I have eaten street food a lot in America! And I agree that India is not as hygienic as America when it comes to street food, I did ask you to show me your world. Now it would be wrong if I backed out!" Geet grinned, "You are an awesome person, you know that?" Viren shrugged again, "So I have been told!"
Geet then showed him some more places in Dilli including her favorite gurudwara. The next few hours passed away and it was nearing nine at night when Viren complained of hunger. "Oh! I know some good five star Hotels here!", Geet told him, "They have amazing food or so I have been told!" Viren shook his head, "No! You promised me Dilli with your eyes! So I want to eat food that you would eat at such a night out!" "Are you sure?", Geet asked and Viren nodded. Geet thought for a moment and then she smiled. She dragged him to a small road side restaurant where they were making Pav bhaji. She ordered two plates and soon both of them were enjoying the dishes.
"I have to admit Geet, this is delicious!", Viren informed her.
"I know! I have eaten here so many times! Tell me which is better, eating this road side pav bhaji or that continental food where they serve spoonful as one dish!", Geet asked him.
Viren pretended to think and he chuckled, "I have to admit, I think this is better!" Geet gave him a triumphant grin and Viren continued, "But that might be because of company too!"
Geet looked away unable to say anything to that compliment.
Viren realised that he made her uncomfortable by his words and decided to divert her mind, "So tell me!"
Geet looked at him and Viren smiled, "About your teacher, Mr. Khurana!"
Geet rolled her eyes and huffed. And then she regaled him about some of her sessions which left him and laughing out loud. Before they knew it, the dinner was over and both walked out of the restaurant holding ice creams in their hands.
"So he humiliates you and yet you remain quiet! Why?", Viren wondered.
"Why not? He is just an obstacle in my life! Him and his cruel words, both! Obstacles will always come in your life, but when the goal is worthy, you can face anything life throws at you!", Geet replied.
"But not at the cost of your dignity!", Viren retorted and Geet froze.
Viren continued to walk only realizing after few seconds that Geet was not walking with him.
He turned around and frowned, "Hey! Kya hua?"
Geeet shook her head and smiled, "Kuch nahi!" She walked beside him but his words continued to float in her brain.
Geet happily walked upto the Khurana Mansion. The outing was perfect as far as she was concerned. Viren was the best person anyone could ask for as a friend. He listened to her words, he considered her feelings, he was the sweetest guy in the whole world. With a smile on her face and happy thoughts in her mind, Geet wandered into Khurana Mansion. Viren had wanted to come in to drop her off but she did not want to trouble him and refused his offer. And now as she entered the house, she was thankful of her decision, because right in front of her stood Maan Singh Khurana, eyes spitting fire, hands on his hips and in a fighting stance. Geet summoned all her strength to fight back. She refused to allow one person to ruin such a beautiful evening.
As Geet gathered herself, she looked around searching for remaining Khurana siblings when her eyes fell on the clock. It was nearing 11 in the night. They must have gone to bed. Then why is this Khurana still awake? Chal Geet beta! Get ready for a fight!
As Geet and Maan came face to face, neither noticed a sleepy Khurana wandering out of his room to get water. Why are the lights on at 11 in night? Dev wondered as he scrubbed his eyes with one hand, the other hand carrying the jug for water in his hand. He blinked as the sleep left his eyes and the view in front of him cleared. He watched from the first floor as Maan and Geet came face to face. Oh my! Geet comes back so late! And Bro in angry mode! Annie definitely needs to see this! He ran off to Annie's room to wake her up.
"Where were you?", Maan barked the moment she came face to face with him, "Is this time to come home?" Geet was about to apologise when she remembered Viren's words, "Not at the cost of your dignity!" She took a deep breath and opened her mouth, "Are you my father?"
Maan froze at her words. He was taken aback, "What?"
"I asked, are you my father? No right? Then why do you care how late I come home? You have no right to scold me on this topic Mister!", Geet scolded him.
Above Annie and Dev just arrived from her room to hear Geet scold Maan. Go Geet!', both cheered in their minds.
Below Maan was too shocked by Geet's words. He had expected Geet to apologise and give him her sweet smile. Where was the sweet girl who received his harsh words with a smile? Where was the girl with whom he could behave the way he wanted to and she did not take offense? When did Geet grow a backbone?
Geet smirked, "I assume by your silence that you have no answer for me! Then allow me to take leave! I need to hit the bed so that I can be refreshed and wide awake for your training sessions!", Geet huffed and walked away.
Maan was not allowing her to walk away so easily though, "GEET! It is my right to scold you if your personal matter affects your studies!"
Geet, who was just climbing the stairs, froze. What did he say? She turned around in anger and stormed over to him. It was different to mock her and scold her about her old habits and it was different matter altogether when he questioned her devotion to her dream.
"KYA KAHAA?", Geet shouted as she stood toe to toe with Maan and glared into his eyes, "What did you say? What did you mean by personal matter affecting my studies? When did that happen? Tell me! Yes, I did not improve as much as you expected but none of it, and I repeat, none of it was because of any personal matter! GOT IT?"
Maan stumbled back at Geet's rant and sat on the sofa behind him. Above them, Annie and Dev laughed into their hands. Oh my Geet! You are too good! Bhai totally deserves this! Annie mused.
Geet turned to walk away again but Maan refused to let her have the last words, "But it will affect if you continue to meet this boyfriend of yours!"
Geet rolled her eyes. This man is determined to ruin my evening! Why me Babaji? Why me! With a bored expression on her face Geet turned and spoke, "One, he is not my boyfriend! Two, he is just a new friend! Three, when these matters affect me, then start shouting at the top of your voice! Right now, drop this matter and just leave me alone!", Geet huffed and turned away. She walked off but halfway turned back and walked back to Maan, "And next time when you have problems, talk to me in the morning like a civil person! Right now you are acting like a brute from my home town!"
Maan's jaw dropped open and he stared in shock at Geet's retreating back. Dev and Annie chuckled at his expression. I know what brought this on, Bro! Dev mused. This was not the case of Geet coming home late or anything affecting her studies! Nope! This is the case of jealousy! Dev shook his head. Jealousy thy name is Maan Singh Khurana!
Mujhe aisa nahi karna chaahiye tha na? I should not have scolded Maan like that right? Geet thought as she lied on her bed trying to get some sleep. But the argument with Maan kept on intruding her thoughts. Was she right? Or was she wrong in scolding Maan like this? Geet did not know. Her whole life she had accepted the way everyone treated her as the way of life. Her parents disowned her because even after being born a girl she had dared to dream. People in Dilli looked down at her because she was a waitress. Maan also scorned her from the moment they met despite him deciding to train her. The only people who treated her with some respect were Dev, Annie, Daadima and Viren. But Viren's words collided with her beliefs and she did not know whom to believe; the world who said that due to her status she should keep her head down and let everyone walk over her or Dev, Annie, Daadima and Viren who showed that she deserved to be treated just the way they are treated by the world. Geet did not know the answers. But one thing was for sure, Daadima was a wise woman, doesn't that mean she is right? Geet closed her eyes deciding that Daadima was oldest and hence she was right. She did the right thing, Geet assuaged her guilty feelings. Maan had no right to barge into my personal life and hence he is not allowed to scold me about anything other than my trainings. Now that the turmoil in her heart eased off, Geet fell asleep in minutes.
By the time Geet solved her problems and fell asleep, Maan already was in his dreamworld. Or was it nightmare? After all, what he was seeing was horrifying to him. In front of his eyes, some faceless fellow was taking Geet away from him. "Geet!", he called out for her but Geet was smiling at the faceless man and walked away from him happily. No! NO!
"NOOO!", Maan woke up with a shout. He looked around realizing that he was in his room. It was a nightmare! Phew! But what if it was real? Maan straightened in alarm. What if Geet... No! But why do I care if Geet gets together with some other guy? Why do I care? The answer came right away. He was falling for her. Damn! He cannot fall for her. She is not right for him. And he had promised that he will remain bachelor forever! No! He won't let a chit of a girl win! He is Maan Singh Khurana and he will be in control of his mind, heart and body.
But what to do now? Now that Maan was falling for her, how to stop it? Maan thought for a while and came up with a solution. I will distance myself from her. Yes! I will stop spending time with her. These feelings will fade away easily! Yup! Perfect plan! From tomorrow I will keep my distance from Geet Handa! With a proud smile on his face for solving his problems, Maan went to sleep. He did not know that soon something will happen that will make him throw his decision into the fire!
WARNING: THIS IS NOT A LOVE TRIANGLE STORY!
GEET AMD MAAN ARE MADE FOR EACH OTHER.
AND ALSO, I HATE LOVE TRIANGLES SO I WOULD RATHER AVOID THEM!
Some reader of mine decided to quit reading this story because they assumed that this was a love triangle story even after I posted a warning in the Chapter 14 that this is not a love triangle. So I have decided to post the above warning in every chapter till Viren leaves. I don't want readers quitting story because they misunderstood. If you don't like my story, its ok. But don't leave because you assumed something. Ask me, clear your doubts, and then quit if you still don't like this story.
And that was some interesting update, wasn't it?
But next update will be more interesting because in next chapter there will be...
Fire in the room,
Marbles in the mouth
And
Viren will meet the Khuranas for the first time.
Oh my!
So see you all on 16th of January with the next twist in this story!
Happy New Year and see you Next Year!
Thank you, take care and have fun,
Kalpana
