Speed of the show has been an issue for quite some time. I would have thought that the build up would be slow and meaningful as this is a girl who is scarred and has a lot of baggage. He would spend time understanding her struggles and help her get over them. Instead a quickie romance path was chosen. The way I have explained it to myself is that Viplav wishes to show her a different life of possibilities and introduce her to different colors of love. What is good to see is the progression in Dhaani's personality. She has started to look radiant and a bit self confident . she has started to dream about a future.
The problem that you ( maybe ) and I have is that there is no clear indication with where the story is going . IS marriage the only destination. Where is the Viplav who could read between the lines and is smart . Why is he not asking Dhaani of her past and why is not Dhaani mentioning it at all . If marrying a widow was so easy then why this orthodox background of Benaras . Most of us are thinking the same .
While the above gets sorted ( or does not ) I am determined to enjoy what is being shown . My eye is on Dhaani who is turning into this beautiful women and love is what is helping her bloom. Viplavs turn will come too and maybe life will teach him lessons the hard way . I am banking on it . This flaky romance will not stay for long reality will set in .

You have articulated the CORE issue so well! Am completely with you on that!
You have raised all the pertinent questions that are plaguing us, IKRSians...
Would like to add in my 2 cents to this thought-provoking piece...
1. Dhani being a "widow" is a non-issue in Viplav's mind. He has found the girl of his dreams; he knows it is for keeps; and, he is going about it - "business as usual". This refreshingly fresh attitude of Viplav, the male protagonist of the show, set against the dogmatic age-old customs and traditions, was the conflict I had set out to watch...
2. This premise was established amazingly well, and surprisingly so in the first week itself...Viplav was not just going to be a force...but a force to reckon with!
3. Dhani's character sketch has also been impressive, at least the way she was envisaged! As I have maintained from day one, it came as no surprise that Viplav would eventually fall for Dhani! When was the last time we came across a girl who's had it so difficult in life (to put it mildly), and still measured up to Viplav, and how! Dhani was not just a selfless soul; she had a mind as well - it had to be only Dhani for Viplav!
4. With such powerful characterizations, this love story actually has the potential to be immortalized...
What then are the issues??!!
1. Guess, enough and more of a postmortem has been done on the gap between our expectations and what is being dished out...
2. Accepting that we cannot undo what has happened in the recent past (hurried pace of confessions, etc), what is it that needs to work out then for the future?
- Was actually quite impressed by the way things were panning out in the first half of the week: the backdrop of Banaras and the UP rituals being used really well to bring out Viplav's intelligent yet affable persona to counter the archaic forces
- Also really liked the way the ViDha scenes were handled - there was so much "ViDhaness" to the cliched concepts of "tohfa" and "phone convos". Truly enjoyed them!
- Yesterday's scene was also probably conceptualized well - what a dream house means to Viplav and what it does to Dhani and the difference in their 'worlds' - could have been much better handled than it was! Entirely my views, but got a strong feeling that the scene was a force-fit, and therefore just didn't cut ice!
- But as you rightly mentioned, Dhani is actullay undergoing a metamorphosis in all this...she looks radiant and laughs unabashed...and, Viplav's love is giving her the confidence to do so!
- The million dollar question then that still remains...unanswered:
Dhani has a past, a scarred one at that...it cannot be brought up in an erratic fashion.
Dhani is seeped in customs and traditions, but also has a mind which can be prodded to question them, if necessary
Viplav has the intelligence to empower Dhani...his love is already doing it's bit
It's probably time for Viplav to get over the first flushes of love, and look at the bigger picture!
CVs, please do not treat ViDha as just another love story...could see that happening in yesterday's episode
ViDha's uniqueness is what sets them apart...
They have attributes which are real and believable...
Looking forward to the ViDha journey
Set against the trials and tribulations of the real world!
