What is it that attracts Sita to this unknown young man?
Why does she stay up with him, for him?

What makes her so eager to see him?

Somehow, she knows that he is compassionate

She already knows him to be brave

But the connection she feels goes beyond curiosity

And even beyond a kinship

While Sita waits to meet this stranger,

Janak is on a mission to find a suitable son in law

And how beautifully was the swayamvar explained

It is not a competition, it is a way to seek out the one who is worthy of Sita

For to raise the dhanush of Shiva,

It's not merely physical strength that is needed

It is qualities of the heart and mind, that will determine who the person will be

And that will be the man who will be worthy of Sita - in body mind and soul

Today raja Janak is worried about his 4 daughters, and not just Sita

Little does he know that this swayamvar will solve not just his anxiety about Sita

But all his daughters

What a difference between him and Chandrabhaga- who thought only of mandvi and disregarded Sita

Janak talks about 4 daughters

While Sita talked about peaceful coexistence with love as the binding force

Rama learnt of ways to preserve the peace

And Tadaka schemed to destroy the peace

The three facets of srishti- all exiting together !

Aur kya, pyaara sa episode -

Lakshmana is quite cute

And Rama - wah wah!

😊😊 You wrote this beautifully..
Loved each and every line.. 😳

Loved how Sitaji explain about love and by giving example
of none other than Lord Shiv and Parvatiji😊

How she is awake at night..is it for him?! Is it because she is curious to see him?!
Janak is not thinking of Sita alone but of all 4 daughters..thats the diff. in him and
his brother.
lakhsman is cute and today in the river scene his was shivering 😛 and it gave me
chill too😆

How precise n adorable u hav explained the whole epi in this post , Woah 👏
I m loving the episodes now , which not only gives the life's teachings but also the emotions associated with it 😳 The scene where Janaka explains that , how can it be considered a svayamvar if the bow must be stringed , Doesn't it mean a competition ?? 👏 I loved the father here , who worries of his daughter's consent and her feelings 👍🏼

And yes the scene , where sita explains the prem and the example she gives for her sisters 👏 Overall A epi which had all the aspects of life's lessons and yet subtle n divine in the same 😳

@Arshics your post made me relive the epi once again in all its beauty. I will put couple of points
Importance of self defense - Today Vishwamitra gave one of the key instructions to his disciples. That only if they are there dharma can be protected. So self defense and mind control is very important to them. Their enemies are powerful with Mayavi Shakthies. Before going into direct combat with them it has to be ensured that they have the right knowledge to deal with their powers. It is one of the basic lessons while combating with powers. Whether we like it or not we have to respect power and wealth. The only thing that can bring down power and wealth is the right application of the knowledge and for that we need the blessings of right guru who can gives us the knowledge, its application and direction on the usage of the knowledge. Blindly reacting with emotions doesn't help. You will cause more harm than good. It is always said the head on collision with mighty and powerful is glorified in our movies. Hero getting beaten up, struggling and all. Fact is, it is nothing to be glorified. A wise man will never go for head on without adequate preparations. You need knowledge, allies to take on the mighty and wealthy. A true leader creates right alliances to take on power than blindly going head on.
Swayamvar explanation. It was a beauty. Because we need to understand Shiv Dhanush was kept by Raja Janak after counseling with wise men to find a man worthy of Sita. Because Sita is a woman who has lifted the dhanush herself. So he was searching more her equal. It was not a contest and if you see Swayamvar had already happened even before Ram approached the Dhanush. Sita had choosen him as her better half. Dhanush lifting was only proving to the world he was worthy of the princess hand.
Whereas when competitions are kept to satisfy personal gain by girl's father or a man is allowed to take the girls forcefully after defeating the kings who had come for swayamvara she becomes a property to be contested.
Dhanush lifting never treated Sita like a property. But as times rolled by marriages were made deals between kingdoms. Shiv-Dhanush was actually a safety band Raja Janak so that he doesn't have to oblige any random prince for his precious daughter's hand and also to ensure she is not made a deal.
Without understanding the purity of love between Ram and Sita, this Shiv Dhanush lifting has been treated as winning the hand of Sita and subsequent cultures have given father the ultimate authority to decide who the worthy son-in-law for his daughter as the daughter doesn't have the ability on her own to decide who is her husband.
Shiv Dhanush lifting by Ram was not winning the hand of Sita, it was proving himself worthy of her in front of her father and the world. Ram knew the princess has already choosen him. Sita needed no proof, in mind she has already become his even before Shiv Dhanush lifting.
