Chapter 86 Recap He left to go back into the house while she decided to sit down on the society bench considering the car made her feel stuffy. As she waited for him to come back, she looked around watching the kids of the society play while elders walked around.
Amidst all this, she thought she heard a familiar voice...
Chapter 87 She heard the voice again looked around for that face she related it to, but she couldn't seem to spot him anywhere. Instead, she heard her husband's voice calling out to her. Shaking off the thoughts of that familiar voice, she smiled turning around as Raman came up to her. While he gave her some water to drink and ended up whispering into her ear making her blush, there was a pair of eyes that were on them seeing their moments together.
Subramanium Chandran stood outside his aunt's flat completely shocked at what his eyes were seeing. When he walked out talking to his aunt and first saw her sitting on the bench looking around, he just froze in his tracks. He watched her caress her large stomach and that's when the realization hit him that she was keeping his child. She was a stubborn woman, but he had never taken her words about raising this child seriously for he thought she couldn't bear to go through a pregnancy alone. But it seemed like she had...
But he couldn't help, but let out a chuckle at her state. Though he felt some pity seeing her alone looking around at the place, he felt like she had brought it upon herself. Had she not refused to abort this child, they could have continued their wonderful relationship for much longer. But she was adamant on keeping a baby who would be loved by no one. He knew that although she had kept this baby, it would remind her of him every moment of her life and there was no way she would be able to love a baby like that...
However that smirk on his face disappeared as he heard a man's deep voice call out her name. Like her he looked around and found a tall young man walking towards her with a smile. He handed her a bottle and sat down next to her. Unknown to the couple, the man placing his hand on Ishita's shoulder as she drank water seemed to be a shocker to Subramanian. And he was left open mouth when the man whispered in Ishita's ear making her turn pink, something that he had never been able to do.
He tried to comprehend the situation in front of him. Seeing the man lovingly caress Ishita's baby bump and kiss her forehead while she rested on his chest, he felt an unusual rage in him. His eyes were fixed on that joyous and serene smile on her face, a smile he had never seen before. A smile that made him frown.
Never in his dreams had he thought that she would move on, forget this quickly. He had always imagined that she would be crying at home regretting get decision to break up with him and choose this baby over him. But as he saw her with a man who seemed to have love filled in his eyes for her and for that baby that was his blood, he became enraged. And his anger grew seeing the same love reciprocated from her side.
Unable to digest her happiness and her moving ahead in life forgetting about him, he wanted to ruin her happiness instantly and wipe that smile off her face. He hated that she was living happily after all the insults she threw at him and how she had broken up with him. And so as he saw the couple getting up to leave, he ran with a smirk on his face to ruin this woman once again...
"Excuse me! Excuse me!" She stopped in her tracks making Raman stop right by their car.
There was no doubt left in her mind that she knew this person recognizing the voice immediately. Raman turned to find the source of this voice wondering if he was calling them considering Ishita stop when he saw a young man almost their age walking towards them.
"Yes?" Raman questioned.
"Hi Mr..." Subbu extended his hand for a handshake which Raman shook making Ishita cringe at what was happening in front of her.
"Bhalla."
"Mr. Bhalla you probably wonder who is this man since you don't even know me, but this lady here does."
"Ishita, who is he?" He questioned her while Ishita moved closer into him holding her stomach worried about what would happen as her ex stood in their driveway.
"Mr. Bhalla I'm Subramanium Chandran." Ishita held back her tears on hearing his name as all those horrible memories ran in her mind remembering each and every time this man used her and then threw her away.
Raman also noticed the change in her and knew something was wrong. Looking at the man in front of him and Ishita's reactions as well as how the man's name sounded somewhat familiar to her ex's nickname, it didn't take him long to out the two and two together. Tightening his grip on her shoulder, he let her know he was there for her before he sternly looked at Subbu and told him off...
"Excuse us, we're running late."
"Please sir, it's really important. You don't realize what you have gotten yourself into."
"And you do?!" Raman tried to control his tone and anger while Ishita knew this was going to get ugly.
"Yes! I can tell you are in a relationship with her, and you also know that I am her ex. But I'm sure you don't know her truth! She's deceiving you like she deceived me!"
"Let's go please." Ishita didn't want this to go the way she knew it was headed. It was bad enough seeing Subbu in front of her eyes after all he did to her, but now as he was ready to demean her and insult her, maybe even say something to Raman, she wanted to avoid it all.
"Just 2 minutes. Let me explain this to you. I know she probably lied to you about this baby she is carrying. I don't know if she told you this baby is yours or mine, but trust me this child is neither. This woman is a huge cheat!" Subbu went on to try and put doubts in Raman's mind hoping he would be successful in hurting Ishita once again.
"Watch what you're saying before I lose my patience with you!" Raman grabbed his collar.
"This woman is a lying b*tch! She's just using you to support herself and this bas***d child!" Subbu continue to speak rubbish about Ishita making Raman's blood boil. He ended up slapping Subbu's face making him hit the car.
"One more word about my wife or my baby and I'll bury you alive!" Raman grabbed his face and threatened him scaring Ishita as she knew how bad his anger got. And the last thing she wanted was Raman getting hurt or in any mess because of Subbu.
"No, please!"
"Wife?!" Her ex looked on confused as he took in Ishita's appearance. He noticed the small pinch of sindoor that adored her partition, the mangalsutra hanging from her neck and the huge diamond that she wore on her finger.
"She is my wife, Mrs. Bhalla! And I am disgusted that my baby will have your blood running in it, but I'm also glad a dog like you left my Ishita so I got her in my life. So I could marry a great woman like her and get a lovely child as well. And don't think she hasn't told me about what you did to her. You betrayed her, left her alone with a baby and then got rid of her income so she couldn't support herself! I'm sickened to know people like you exist in this world who do these horrible things to people who love you!"
"Oh so you know everything! Then I don't know what type of man you are, who would marry her?!" Subbu smirked while Ishita knowing Raman was by her side this whole time finally spoke out her heart...
"See Subramanium he's is a real man. A man who can accept a woman whole heartedly with all her baggage and mistakes all the while without questioning her character. People make mistakes and he had the courage and guts to accept a woman who has made mistakes like everyone else has instead of using her and discarding her."
"A real man? Hmph! Someone who take in a characterless woman like her who slept with me in my bed for a year and then take in a child who's identity is unknown to probably its mother herself!" Subbu earned himself a round of punches from Raman which could only be stopped by Ishita when she held his arm seeing Subbu's bloody nose worried that her husband would land himself in tons of trouble.
"Shut up, my wife is a very dignified woman and don't you go around saying things about her. And the baby in her womb, my child, has an identity many would love to have; it has Raman Kumar Bhalla's name attached to it!"
"Ra-Ra-Raman Bhalla?" Subbu just realized how powerful Ishita's husband was. This man was the one who was deciding his fate and he had probably made the biggest mistake of his life by taking on his fight with him.
"Yes Mr. Chandran! You haven't never seen my face, but I have seen many people like you wondering in my office! I recognized you the moment you came in front of me. You are the man who was constantly annoying me trying to meet me for days, begging me to buy a share of his failing company and now you dared to insult my wife! You're lucky Ishita never told me your full name before I signed the deal, but now that I know who you are, forget our deal and forget about saving your company!"
Raman let go of his collar letting him fall to the ground while Ishita couldn't help but smile at bit seeing the pathetic state of the man who put her through so much. As Raman's arm went around hers holding onto her shoulder protectively as he walked to the car opening the door for her.
"I'm so sorry for this. You can't do this to me! Why are you bringing our personal issues into our professional matters?!" Subbu begged in front of Raman while Ishita held his hand asking him not to hurt him anymore, just ignore.
"The same reason you fired my pregnant wife! To see that helpless look on your face, to make you realize what a mistake you had made by doing this drama, and to make you pay for hurting my wife and child!" He walked off without another words while Subbu stood up trying to talk to him hoping anything damaged could be repaired. Raman got into the car without looking back and held Ishita's hand the moment he sat down making Subbu realize one thing.
He was nothing. He felt so small in the moment when he saw Raman wipe of Ishita's tears and pull her into a hug. This was the same woman who he had promised a marriage and a lifetime together so he could get her in his bed and left her once she accidently conceived his child. He had left no stone unturned to take away every happiness of hers and insulting her, but it was of no effect. She was so strong that she had picked up the broken pieces of her life instead of crying over them, and now she was living a much better life than she would have ever had with him.
She had gotten everything he tried to deprive her of; a man's true love, a father for her child, a friend, a support system and a partner with a heart. This man was standing by her like a rock no matter what anyone was saying about her and she was no less than him. Remembering Raman's words on how thankful he was that he left Ishita, a tear fell from his eye, not because he was a doomed man but because he was an unlucky man.
A man who couldn't understand how to get love and respect. He saw the immense respect she carried for him through her words, her love reflected on her every actions as she asked him not to fight and get in trouble, and her happiness with him was visible to any stranger as they kept each other close by bringing smiles on each other's face. She had never done the same for him, maybe because she never felt love for him, or maybe because he had never given her a reason to...
As he saw her worriedly look at Raman's body to see if he had gotten hurt, the realization of how much he lost or gave up himself hit him like a brick...
He came out of his thoughts when he heard the honk of a car horn. He saw Raman's angry glare when he realized he was still standing in their driveway and he was nowhere near welcome. Slowly walking away he realized though after a while, Karma does come back to bite you real hard...

"Raman, thank-" She tried to thank him as she saw Subbu leave when he interrupted her.
"Don't you dare thank me now! I didn't do you any favour, that piece of trash was insulting you and my baby, so there was no way I was going to stay quiet." He looked away angrily while she simply hugged him from the side.
"I love you so much. Thank you for coming into my life Raman."
She gratefully told him feeling such a relief remembering everything he had said to her ex making her proud and thankful for him. He understood her emotions and all she probably went through, so he stayed quiet and let her be in the same position for as long as she wanted.
She didn't cry this time nor was there any sadness in her, she was simply happy for all she had gotten in her life. Till now she had felt numb towards Subbu and all he did to her, but now there were no feelings at all expect for thankfulness. Had that man not left her, she wouldn't have met the man who truly knew what love was and how to give it to her. And she also knew the only person to thank for the positivity she had towards things nowadays was also Raman.
Finally after a few minutes as she let go of him as well as a small burden that lay hidden in her of facing her ex, she flashed her smile to him letting him know she was okay all the while his respect for her grew. She handled herself so well in front of Subbu not letting him know even once how hurt she had been because of him and went ahead to let him know how happy she was with him. And with that proud thought in his head, they finally headed out for her checkup...
Upon reaching their Raman called his office and began to order the cancellation of the deal with Subbu's company while she was immediately called in as they reached a bit late. While he was on his phone throughout, she went ahead and got her checkup done. 20 minutes later as he wrapped up his call, she walked out holding onto the things around the room for support until he got up and become her support. Seating her down, he sat down himself holding her hand. He was told that their baby's heartbeat and position were absolutely fine. After a few minutes of conversing with her doctor on her nervousness on delivering, they left the clinic being told they would either have to come back next week to see the doctor again or see her next when Ishita delivers; whatever came first. And they left hoping it would be the latter...

3 days later
"Raman I don't want to go." She sat on the couch holding her stomach in pain. She had been suffering from small contractions from the last 2 days and he was now attempting to distract her as her doctor had recommended, but in vain.
"Come on Ishita. Ruhi's also cranky just sitting inside. Going outside will cheer both of you up." He picked up his daughter and they both made a sad face making Ishita laugh.
"Nautankis! Come here!" She patted the spot next to her and he sat down with Ruhi in his lap. She leaned over kissing Ruhi and moving away the tiny baby hair from her face. He raised his brows questioning how she was feeling now.
"They've stopped again and I'm okay, I just want to sit down for a bit."
"Okay, just tell me what you need. Ru and I are going to try walking again, right baby?" He kissed Ruhi's cheeks and got off the couch.
While he sat on the rug making Ruhi stand holding onto the sofa, she started to flip through different channels looking for something that would appeal to her. She admired the sight of Ruhi letting go of the sofa and instantly grabbing onto Raman instead of walking. He hugged his daughter kissing her again before they went to try again while she looked on.
A while later they all sat on the couch in the dark cuddled together in a blanket watching another romantic movie. She snuggled in his embrace while Ruhi enjoyed the music of the movie sitting in his lap. And though he was bored and had no interest in what was on the screen, he loved to have both his girls in his arms and relax.
They didn't even realize how the time went by as Raman fed them both dealing with their silly tantrums. He found it amusing how they both seemed to fight for his attention at times. Ishita demanded he fed her with his own hands while Ruhi needed him to be carrying and feeding her. Juggling between the both, it took him an hour to satisfy both of them, but he managed somehow. And he even got to enjoy being fed by his wife only until more contractions kicked making him leave his dinner and tend to Ishita again.
He sat by her side patting her head trying to put her to sleep. She moved her head onto his lap quietly trying to deal with the pain she was experiencing. He kept on assuring her it was all okay and she would be fine until she fell asleep. Hoping she would be able to sleep without any disturbance, he tucked her in and went outside to finish his dinner and then play with Ruhi until she was out of energy and ready to sleep...

He felt a tug on his arm and immediately jerked opened his eyes. Seeing the clock right in front of him read 4am, he turned over to see what his wife needed this time. Suddenly he felt her grab onto his arm tightly and worried he found her holding onto her stomach and her face showed clear pain.
"Raman the contractions are too strong! They're unbearable!" She exclaimed in pain while he got up right away knowing it was what they had preparing for months now.
"How long have they been happening?! Why didn't you wake me?!" He asked slipping on his shirt and picking up the fast asleep Ruhi out of her crib.
"I thought they...they would stop. It's been 10 minutes and... and they hardly stop for a minute before...they start again." She tried to explain taking short pauses in between due to her pain.
"Maa!" He called out to his mother as he went over to hand Ruhi to her. Rushing back to his wife, he picked up his phone dialling the doctor's number.
She got up out of the bed with much struggle and till then he had gotten the hold of her doctor. Seeing her pain and struggle, he bent over scooping her into his arms while talking on the phone between his ear and shoulder. Encircling her arms around his neck, she continued to feel the painful contractions and slightly yelped in pain. Placing her into the passenger side of the car, he finally got off the phone and rushed to the driver's seat and began to drive quickly to the hospital...
