For me, everything worked in the film except Deepika at times.

Everyone acted to their top in their respective roles including deepika except in songs. I am a big fan of her but she got only half baked role. Even PC got half-baked but she convinced and lived in that role. i think that's the reason everyone praising her. She overshadowed DP for sure.

What ruined me is 'mohe rang do laal' ---- Such a beautiful song with great traditional touch ruined by graceless dancer. I never found deepika such graceless before- even in OSO she felt good to me in 'dhoom thana'

But here everything is wrong from her...I dont know...even the make up sucks--- she looked like a man wearing female attire and who would expose to such extent to dance among their parents...i prefer listening to song in the audio than video.

Even in deewani mastani---she didnt lip sync well. The mirror mahal compensated the song thankfully... very disappointed at what slb wanted to potray esp. for the way he looks even into minute details.

Same goes with 'pinga'---PC danced gracefully in whatever we see.

But all in all, everything in this movie has to be appreciated for taking major risk and bringing back indian traditions and cultural values. Everyone are awardworthy.

I don't think Priyanka was overrated! I think she played the role of Kashi perfectly! IMO her acting was better than Deepika. PC was on par with Ranveer and Tanvi. I don't think people should judge her based on the size of the role, she impressed in every scene she was in! People saying they didn't feel enough pain etc I think PC showed the perfect amount of emotions because in this time period multiple marriages were normal and she had to accept it too but still Kashi stood up for herself a couple times which was nice to see.

For the few critics and her fans who keep saying she's the best thing in the film and that she nailed a challenging role ect..yes they are overhyping her because she's neither the best thing in the film nor was she playing a challenging role.

That said..for people who say she did full justice to her role and left an impact even though she has a small role- I agree with them.

So it depends on who's review you read. Lol. Also like someone mentioned..when it comes to Bollywood performances and films..we tend to over hype or over criticize.

Also..I might be the only one who was rooting for Mastani over PC character in the film.

And another nonsensical thing that was mentioned in this forum - that the film should've been called Bajirao Kashi 😆😆 because the film revolved around Priyanka and she was in the film more than Deepika. Im sorry but i think y'all were imagining stuff, there a large portion of the film where Priyanka isn't even there 😆😆 This is Bajirao and Mastani's story, why would it be called Bajirao-Kashi when she isn't even in the film that much.

😆 Bold statement made me laugh so hard.

And agree about some were over hyping her performance to make Deepika look bad (including me before watching the film film though). After...I was like okay..Deepika was good too.
