Chapter 10
The next morning was filled with an obvious awkwardness between Raman and Ishita. Ishita woke up earlier than usual so as to avoid meeting him. She was hurriedly going through his clothes for choosing the apt ones for his office when his voice frozen her. "Ishita!" Though it was spoken in a calm tone but still Ishita shivered deeply.
He hesitantly walked towards her saying : I want to talk with you!!
Ishita slowly turned back but didn't rise up her head to meet his eyes.
Raman : I... I want to say that... Ammm... We... We should forget yesterday's night.
Raman was searching for appropriate words. He continued with a stammer : It... It was entirely the fault of that song!! It is like that!! Don't think about it! We just got swayed away with the moment!! Ammm... I... I hope you got it what I meant!!
Ishita simply nodded and went downstairs. Afterwards, Raman too went to his work quietly.
Raman came back from his office before the time, as he entered in the house, he found the entire hall empty, he searched for the members.
Raman : Ishita... Ishita...
When suddenly he heard giggling from his room, he walked there but stopped at the entrance, Ishita was playing with little Ananya, an unknown smile came on his lips. He watched them playing, giggling when he felt a hand on his shoulder, he turned and found Mrs Bhalla was standing there with a calm smile, she flicked her eye to ask ' What!'
Raman : What? No nothing.. I was...
He walked away from there and came in hall, he took a sit on the sofa, Toshiji joined him there.
Toshiji : Shall I say one thing Raman?
Raman looked at her when she continued : Now I want to see my family complete!!
Raman looked at her amazed. "Just look at them Raman! She will be a perfect mother, see how protectively she is taking care of little Ananya!! They are so mingled with each other... She has no care about the world now!! You know she is a perfect daughter-in-law any parent could ever get for their son; and now after seeing this, I bet... she can be a perfect mother any child could ever get!!"
Raman again looked back at the mother, she continued : And now I should mention, she is a perfect wife too!!" Raman turned to her shocked. "I am not saying anything wrong Raman!! It is the fact!! Ishita did a lot for us... She left everything for our family... her home, her dreams, her wishes... everything!! And she didn't demand anything in return from us!! Ishita only showered her affection, love and respect to each one of us!! And you can't deny that she has fulfilled all the duties of a daughter-in-law... and a wife too!!"
Raman : What are you trying to say Maa?
Raman deliberately asked this question though he knew where her words were heading to.
Toshiji : You know it very well puttar! Don't you feel, she should be given back that affection... AS A WIFE TOO!!
Raman's eyes shot opened to hear that. He quickly turned his eyes away and spoke : You know, it's not possible!
Toshiji : Really? I am hearing this phrase for the first time from my son- Raman Bhalla, who is capable of making everything possible!! This can be difficult Raman but it is not impossible!!" Toshiji was trying her best to persuade him. "Both of you have accepted each other for your lives... Would you both be able to live with this distance forever??" Toshiji came close towards him and caressed his shoulder lovingly, "Raman.. Only calling her WIFE won't make her your wife in actual!! You have to step forward to accept this relation in real sense!!"
Raman : Stop it Maa!
Raman got pestered with her words, "This is not that easy as you are thinking!! It's not only about me and my life Maa... It's about Ishita too!! She has no expectations with this relation and so do I... We are together as she promised to bhai and so I did... That's it!! Only my step won't help this relation in anyway, Maa!"
Toshiji : It will definitely help Raman.. If you would move forward, Ishita will also step ahead! She is a very understanding girl Raman!! Think of it puttar!! You can't run away from this relationship like this!! Don't think of yourself only... Think of it as OURS... You and Ishita!
Raman : Maa please leave me alone for some time. I don't want to think about it.
She left from there, leaving behind a confused Raman, he was in deep thought when he heard footsteps, he turned and saw Ishita coming.
Ishita : Arey Raman.. You arrived early today. See!! Simmi and Ananya..
Before she could complete, he burst : Can't you all give me some peace?
Ishita looked at him shock : Raman I just...
Raman : Please Ishita go away. Forget it...
Saying this, he left from there, leaving confused Ishita.
Ishita thought : What's his problem? When I behaved so calmly, he just burst on me.. Fine!! I won't talk with him.
Toshiji walked in the hall, hearing Raman's shout, she saw Ishita upset.
Toshiji : Ishita puttar, is everything alright?
Ishita : Mummy tell me one thing, didn't you fed him honey when he born.
Toshiji chuckled : Yes. I did.
Ishita : Then why is he so Khadoos type? Completely Ravan Kumar.
Toshiji : It's okay puttar. I think, he is upset about something, don't worry he will come soon. I'm not sure, but I think he went to farmhouse, as whenever he wants some space, he goes to their only.
Ishita nodded.
The sky was covered with the black clouds, sometimes thunder was clapping making everyone scared. Ishita was standing near the window side when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
Toshiji : Don't worry Ishita. He will reach any time.
Ishita smiled lightly in reply, she looked outside, it was heavily raining, she looked at the clock. It was 9pm around.
She thought : I should call him once..
She was going to call him but stopped thinking : No. Why should I? Can't he use his brain? Can't he call me? Okay. Not me, but at least can call his parents and inform them about his whereabouts. I won't call.
She again looked out and muttered : No Ishu. Let it be for now. You can continue it later.
She dialed his number. "The number you are trying to call is currently unreachable." A voice spoke.
She thought : Unreachable!! Where is he that a call can't reach to him. Okay.. Okay!! Hmm.. Mihir.. He must be know about him..
She dialled Mihir's number. "Yes Bhabhiji.." He answered.
Ishita : Mihir.. where is Raman? I mean, is he with you? Are you guys in office?
Mihir : No bhabhi. Raman was in farmhouse when he called me to accompany him. We were there when I got a call from office so I left for the office before two hour. Doesn't he reach at home yet??
Ishita : No. Okay. You don't worry. I will check. And if you come to know about him then please let me know.
And she cut the call. "There's a limit being irresponsible. Doesn't he care about his family." She thought and remembered how he behaved with her. "What's wrong with him?" She remembered about the night when he came full drunk. She looked at outside. The rain was became so heavy. Thunders were clapping in every next moment.
She came to their room and sat on the bed and again tried his number but again it was unreachable. She was pacing in room restlessly. "No. I have to go and check him. But I don't have the address. Okay, I'll ask mummyji." She said and took the car keys.
While coming downstairs she was continuously trying his number. Toshiji saw her and asked : Ishita.. Where are you going puttar? And Raman.. Where is he? Did he call you?
Ishita looked at them nervous and said : Mummyji.. I tried his number but it was unreachable. So I am just going to check him at farmhouse. Can you please give me the address?
Mr Bhalla : But puttar, it was heavily raining outside. Okay!! You go with Romi.
Ishita : No papaji.. I can manage. You just take care of Maa. I will come soon.." And she collected the address and left in next moment.
After around 30mins Raman came back home. He was completely drenched in the rain and his forehead was little bleeding. As he walked in, Toshiji looked at him and asked worried : Raman.. What happen with you?
Raman : Nothing.. Just a little accident.
Mr Bhalla : Where is Ishita?
Raman looked at him confused : Ishita.. How would I know about her papa?
Mr Bhalla angrily said : What do you mean? She went to farmhouse to check and you are saying that you don't know!! How can you be so careless?
Raman : Ishita went to farmhouse? When and why did you leave her alone?
Mrs Bhalla smiled little seeing her son's concern for his wife. She politely replied : Raman she cares for you so she left.
Raman rolled his eyes and murmured : Silly girl.. I know she doesn't care then why did this drama? Girls are too hard to understand Raman. Now go.
He looked at his family and said : Okay, I'll check.
Saying this, he was going to leave but stopped saying : Wait. Why should I go? Romi, call your bhabhi and ask her to come back.
Mr Bhalla : Raman.. GO!!" he strictly said when Raman shook his head and left without arguing with them.
Other side Ishita parked the car outside of the farmhouse. Then entered inside. On the way from car to house, she got wet.
She saw the guard and asked : Is Raman here?
Guard : Last time when I saw him, he was inside.
Ishita shouted : Last time? What are you doing here then? Don't you know that is your boss still here or not. Useless!!
Ishita walked inside calling, "Raman." But stopped and remembered that the guard said he was inside, she walked there, it was huge than their room and well decorated. She checked everywhere but didn't find anywhere. She got a little scared and took a deep breath and called his name, "Raman.. Where are you? " But didn't get any reply. She was calling his name so many times but didn't get any reply from anyone.
Ishita : I think he left the house.
She thought and going to leave when suddenly a high thunder clapped and the lights turned off. Ishita got scared and stepped a back.
She stammered : Li... Lights.. What's wrong with this light now? Oh God!!
She got so scared, it was so dark that she didn't see her side also. She started sweating in fear, she tried to turned on the flashlight in her phone but the battery is dead and her phone was off. Suddenly another high thunder clapped and she stepped some steps back and hits by some stand which fall on her feet. Her leg got injured.
She moaned in pain : Ouch!! Aiyyo murg...
Before she could complete, she heard the sound of cracking the doors and heard some footsteps. She e got more panicked, she tried to see all around but due to the darkness she couldn't.
Ishita : Who.. Who's there?
But she didn't get any reply, "I said who's there? Spe... Speak out!!" she again said when she could hear the footsteps closely and felt someone was coming towards her.
Ishita stammered : Don't.. Don't come close to me!!
She was scared so badly when the guy lightened his lighter, now Ishita could see his face.
"Raman.." She whispered and in next moment she hugged him so tightly.
Ishita : Thank god!! You came Raman.. I got so scared.
She cried. A little smile came on his lips hearing his name from her mouth as she called him so calmly that she never did before. Ishita clutched his shirt so tightly, he could feel how much she was scare.
"Ishita!!" He called out her name while rubbing her back to calm her down and she realized and got apart from him.
Ishita : Woh actually.. I.. I was so scared.
Raman : Yes!! I can see that. But why did you come here? Can't you see how heavily its raining? Don't you have brain?
Raman questioned him and raised his right eye brows, Ishita glared at him with her big almond eyes, "Ek toh help karo upar se baatein bhi suno.." She murmured.
Raman : Don't talk with yourself. I am here so just speak out loud whatever you are thinking. I'm not a deaf like you, I can hear clearly." Raman spoke arrogantly..
Ishita : Nothing!! Can we leave now? Mummyji must be waiting for us.
She irately spoke and Raman stepped a back to clear her way towards the door. Ishita walked when she stumbled due to her injured leg "Ouch!!" Raman immediately hold her hand.
Raman : Are you okay?
He asked her worriedly when she glared at him and took her hand back and nodded yes, "Lets go!!" She slowly walked away and Raman also followed her.
They got into the car and Raman started, but it didn't start. He tried so many times but it got damaged, he banged his fist on steering, "Damn!!"
Ishita : What happen?
Raman glared at her saying : Of-course God gave you these two eyes to watch. Then use it no!!
Ishita rolled her eyes saying : Can't you say it clearly that the car got damage!!
Raman : Wow!! Finally you found it." he clapped.
Ishita : Whatever!! I have my car, let's go by that.
Saying his she was going to get down when Raman held her hand saying : Wait.
She turned back at his hand when he removed, he continued : Let's stay back here tonight. I mean.. I was completely drenched and I guess you too. So stay back tonight. Will go back tomorrow.
Ishita looked at him calmly and nodded.
Ishita : Then inform it to the family. They might be worried.
Raman : Yeah!!
Then they walked in the house when Raman informed the guard to go back his house tonight as they will stay tonight.
