Karthik could've easily escaped the entire ordeal by saying that he was unconscious for all of yesterday, so he couldn't have know, and he only found out that day. He could've twisted the situation in such a way that only Survi would get punished, not him.
Even when it was the vermillion scene, he had flashbacks to when Survi was about to get that black stuff applied to her face.

Yet he still saved her.

And he keeps on saving her, every time she's been in trouble.

I mean come on! Actions speak louder than words, and if we judge from what he does for Survi rather than what he says about her, it wouldn't be hard to come to the conclusion that he was helplessly and unknowingly in love with her.

He always has Yusra. He loved her 8 years back and he still loves her with an intensity which he terms as 'hate' but its the hidden love in his heart. He thinks he hates her because of what he thinks that she did to his Ayi, but somewhere deep down he knows Survi cannot do this, but he needs this cover, a reason to hate her. When the actual reason why he hates her is because she left him alone. Survi mein Kartik ki jaan thi and when the person left him by leaving just a letter behind, he was heart broken and he needed a reason to hate her because he could not understand his feelings and hence, put the complete blame of his Ayi's condition on Survi so that he has a STRONG reason to hate her. Because he cannot deal with his conflicting emotions, his feelings and why his heart broken into a million pieces when Survi left. The fact that he loved her and needed her beside him.

He gets comfort in her arms only because his heart knows the truth which his brain is yet to realize. He thinks hurting her would give him relief, and he hurts her but he can't see her in pain for long and becomes her savior too.

He just doesn't want to think of the possibility that Survi did not try to kill his Ayi because then he would have to deal with his conflicting emotions as to why he hates her so much. If only he could recognize the intense love behind all that hatred. If only...
