The week saw the most anticipated clash of the year as Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Priyanka, Ranveer and Deepika starrer BAJIRAO MASTANI released alongside Gauri Khan's Rohit Shetty directed Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon venture, DILWALE.

	DILWALE and BAJIRAO MASTANI

As was inevitable, the business got divided as one cut into the other. While DILWALE netted 22 crore, BAJIRAO MASTANI managed 11.50 crore during the opening day (both the totals to be validated).

Had the two films released singularly, DILWALE could have managed 31-32 crore and BAJIRAO MASTANI 21-22 crore. And that according to a leading trade and distribution guru.

The situation is quite similar in the overseas as DILWALE has overpowered BAJIRAO MASTANI there as well, except for some parts of US.

It is indeed good news that both the films have been welcomed with open arms by the paying audience on the release day, and if the trend continues the year is sure to conclude with two big hits, fingers crossed!
