I was thinking about what Anupam said to Riya, that she had to keep in mind that she is someones daughter in law, wife, sister in law and all. And I remembered a quote:

"Before I am your daughter,

your sister,

your aunt, niece, or cousin,

I am my own person,

and I will not set fire to myself

to keep you warm."

- Unknown

And I agree with the quote completely. I understand that you have to give and take to become part of the family. But to fit in the role a woman shouldn't have to give up her beliefs, sense of morality, ideologies, and who she is as a person. If they can't accept her as her, why should she try to change? Not once was Shivam asked to change. Not once. So why should Riya have to make all the sacrifices of who she in order to appease the people who do not wish her well. And hope that one day she has made enough changes to herself that they are willing to finally accept her.

I am tired of all these messages they are giving to the viewers.

I think Riya is doing pretty well on her own. She is slowly changing each family member's view towards herself and the changing times. Her father's and her friend's advices might not be totally right but it does boost her confidence up to continue what she's doing. It takes time for change to take place. So, all the disheartened fans and viewer's going through the same phase in their lives, BE PATIENT ! 😊

This kind of advice is not for everyone. This kind of advice is good if the family is not as rotten as this family.
This is only fiction and no one will set fire to Riya. But in real life the mother and daughter may try to eliminate riya types physically.

I agree with this quote...though we dont want to see a selfish female lead, who doesnt even love her husband...but at the same time...we dont want a jagat mata too...who wud kill herself for all the evil people out there...no sir...
is it really difficult to show a good woman who is smart but also keeps her self-respect intact...cant she fight the evil without sacrificing her own self...

i guess we will never know, as our television industry have a limited creativity and dont want to experiment with different grey shades of the characters.
