Dear Ms.

BCCC viewed your complaint with regard to the programme "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" on Star Plus.

BCCC had issued a Notice to the channel. In its reply, the channel stated this is a modern day drama where the female protagonist is unable to conceive due to a medical problem. She longs for a child and does not believe in surrogacy as she is afraid of losing a child, which she has unfortunately lost before. The women's portrayal has not been demeaning or insulting to barren women. The surrogacy track was important to determine the future dynamics of the relationships. BCCC took the channel's reply on record and decided to DISPOSE of the complaints. The Council, however, advised the channel to be more sensitive in preserving the dignity of and respect of women.

Yours sincerely,

Ashish Sinha

Bahahah what a response

Do they not realize that Ishita compared her & Shagun to Yashoda and Kayke in regards to surrogacy? So PLEASE tell me how Ishita opposed surrogacy when her entire conversation with Raman about why she disliked the move was AFTER she knew about surrogacy.

And they demeaned infertility when they made a former "baanj" pregnant after one bout of sex without treatment & then she lost her baby NOT bc of a medical condition but bc she drove a bus that was bound for an accident.

Star Plus & BT - you are royal greedy a**holes.

How pathetic are these people who write this & justify it. May they talk to people & see the pain real couples struggling with infertility face & then maybe they will see how their fiction is disgusting & demeaning.

This is a typical reply from a governing body against the complaint made about the BIG MAFIA of TV industry . I am not surprised at all.

I think no convincing argument given by channel.
Sorry. Even bccc seems not much serious to take this issue further.
Hence, viewers have to bear with the crap if they wish to continue, in the next track.

The comment above me says it all (edited out);

When we live in a nation where national dailies promote cheating, infidelity, objectification of women and a hundred and ten things then compared to that what is a measly show.

The other day Anku and I were having a discussion where in I basically ranted over why our nation fails to portray as it is. Or the day before that when a couple of friends and I discussed this over moral issues our society faces.

I said this now and I say this once again; until society learns to actively participate in what they view and what they don't - then we aren't going anywhere. Our national shows promote abuse of various kinds, actors and creative bodies abuse their fan base and go scott free and we as an audience love to be abused.

I have nothing to say to this as a whole because let's face it - it's my time that is wasted.

And to whoever said that targeting sponsors and people incharge was a waste of time - you're right. In India, it is. But if this was America, South Korea or any other nation then the show would be shut down. In South Korea, the production house would be made sure that it had no more other shows running at the moment or hence forth and the actors and participants would face public wrath. But as I said, this is India. People indicted go free and the nation is run by, mostly, shady bodies. So expecting a production house to stay in line or actors to voice out is stupid.

But to whoever took part in this show - actively - we wasted our time let's move on.

True. No issues. let trp audience decide the drama.

I am already detached myself from the show. So no worries.
What they show its now their headache.

I am personally thankful cvs for this bhoot track.
Because of this non sense drama I was able to break my emotional bond with the show.

Thanks cvs for doing this favour on me

Glad that you atleast took the effort to write and express our discontent with the surrogacy crap shown.
I have nothing against surrogacy...as one of my relative in Ahmedabad opted for it. But the CVs should have shown it with a proper reasoning and not a comedy track like 'anda chori karo' ...fertilize karo...and sauten ke pet mein daaldo. Definitely this is not how it works 😡. That makes it ridiculous. Anyways I am least bothered about it now...show has been butchered beyond recognition...so let them show whatever😭😭
