I'm going to have to disagree with you guys. It's not that I loved this episode, because honestly, I've seen better. But I wouldn't dismiss it as silly just based on the logic you have presented.
First of all, if all thieves looked like thieves, the police wouldn't have any problem at all. 😆 For one thing, education has no connection with the desire to have other people's belongings. There are many uneducated people in this world who make an honest living and lots of educated professionals committing business fraud. Stealing is related to morality, not to education.
And about looking rich...yes, Preeti did seem rich and glamorous, but that doesn't mean there couldn't be a reason for her becoming a thief. Maybe her "parents" had taken loans to support their lifestyle and now they were bancrupt. Maybe the "father" was a kleptomaniac who just enjoyed stealing and brainwashed Preeti into joining him. Maybe they just wanted to become richer despite having a lot of money (as many millionaires tend to do). The possibilities are endless.
Perhaps you guys think that their method of stealing was not sophisticated enough for educated and wealthy people, but I disagree with that too. This wasn't simple shoplifting. They broke into a store in which millions of dollars of jewelry was kept. I'm sure the owners of the store must have taken every precaution to make sure this didn't happen. Just the fact that they were able to succeed in this shows that they were pretty clever and proficient.
Finally about the mother being a murderer...She wasn't a murderer by natural instinct. It was the events in her life that changed her. I agree that not everyone reacts that way, but I don't think its completely far-fetched either. Her daughter had been taken away from her which is traumatic in itself. Then 20 years later, she learned something that caused her to believe that her daughter was taken from her only for the immoral purpose of assisting with robbery. And then she sees it happening in front of her eyes! She obviously wasn't in her right mind after witnessing all this and thus, committed the murder.
The one thing that I think is very unbelievable in this episode is the mother showing up at the robbery in the first place. Anyway, this post is getting super long. 😳 I hope I've made my reasoning clear.
