how can a case be filed on ex boyfriend is the girlfriend ended her life??

she could have broken up,concentrated on her acting career,should have gone out with friends and had do other post breakup things that other girls do...

why do end your life and then blame in on someone else??

he didnt put a rope...

girls are sold into brothels,lilttle boys are raped in brostals, so may bad things happen but still people are living and fighting...if you cant face the heat of the relationship then why did you enter into one..."he promised me engagement"...so??? does that make u believe that u should sleep with him??

u should be mature enough to know with whom and when do u want to have sex..no one can convince you on that... abortion is also a choice of a lady and a guy cannot do anything if the girl says she wants to have a baby..

so u had sex,u got pregnant, u got abortion and you ended your life then very easily you blamed it on someone else...

sooraj mayb be an asshole as a boyfriend but so are most of the guys in the world, it doesnt mean he deserves 10 years in jail...this is seriously so unfair !!

Suraj is a major creep and it's completely believable that he must have told her he loved her and will marry her if she sleeps with him. A lot of Indian guys use this tactic and it's nothing new. They will say anything it takes to get the girl in bed.

When she ended up getting pregnant, he encouraged her to get an abortion. He may or may not have been cheating on her. He also wanted to get away from her later since he was about to start his career. He was/is a bad guy. There's really no doubt about it.

But being a bad boyfriend/person doesn't automatically make someone an evil murderer either.

Jiah was unstable from the beginning. I don't think she had a great relationship with her mother and I believe her father was absent from her life too. Her career was going nowhere and she had a horrible boyfriend. But people survive things like that all the time. Jiah was too weak a personality and chose to end her life instead. That was her own choice.

People get horrible lives handed to them and still manage to survive. If she chose suicide instead, that's on her. How can her ex-boyfriend be blamed for it? I don't think anything will happen to him but it's ridiculous to even have to go through a case like this.

@bold, you really think he needed to promise her marriage in order to sleep with her? This is not some small town or even some conservative, semi-conservative middle class society. Why would two people in a relationship in this strata of society need to have the promise of marriage for sex?

Yes, during the course of the relationship promises or talks or declarations were said to be made. But it is not the same as promising marriage to sleep with someone, which by the way even the courts and judges a decade ago started getting tired of and started cautioning girls to be not so naive during such cases filed.

From all the details that are coming out, it sounds like Jiah was desperate for love and commitment. I wouldn't be shocked if he led her to believe they will get married even though he was not interested and was just saying it to keep her happy. She might not have slept with him or been in that relationship if she thought it was going nowhere.

I definitely think he set up the wrong expectations for her even though he was not going to give her what she wanted. In that sense, it is deceitful. She was already a weak, unstable soul so to play these kind of games with her is immoral.

She was starting to realize by the end how he really was and I think it pushed her over the edge. I don't think she had any real support network either and she must have been depressed and going trough mental trauma.

I'm not defending him as a person in anyway. He sounds like a real sleazeball just like his father. But regardless of his behavior, he can't be held responsible for her death. These types of laws are insane.
