The weekly retrospective is back after a gap. Sorry for the last week folks. πŸ˜›

This week was surely an eventful one , with all the heart breaks, arguments, tension brewing between the protagonists along with not so thrilling cat & mouse chase game led by Shergill the agent to nab the terror suspects. None of his scenes did make any sense thanks to those pathetic dialogues, plus it took the story nowhere. A point to be noted by the writers. He needs to be there to take the story to its climax. Do take care of it and get rid of some unnecessary scenes to make us all go mad with utmost disgust. The story did show its beaming glow when it focused on Rizwan and Preet and for that the entire team, specially the writers and two actors deserve all the applause. Week after week, You deliver like you never did before and make us awestruck. A big THANK YOU FOR THAT. πŸ˜³πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜›
Now its like a rule to break the rule and mention multiple scenes as the Scenes of the week. I guess that's because I just fail to choose one as few scenes left me speechless with its sheer brilliance. This week is also no exception, so here sharing my favourite scenes which will get framed in my memory album. 😳❀️
~SCENE 1~ The argument
Aaj Bina thappad maare hi tumne mera bharosa tod diya. πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”
One of the most powerful scene in the entire series. The woman whose all hope and faith gets broken by the man whom she trusts blindly -so brilliantly portrayed that it shook me. Preet's unshed tears accused Rizwan for slapping her hard while he was asking repeatedly for an apology for that single slap. The ideal beta , ideal Bhai took over so strongly that the loving husband ignored these tears though always claiming it hurts him deeply when she cries. Was her husband feeling the same pain which she had in her eyes for letting her down? I guess he was surely not in much comfort either as he asked for forgiveness without uttering the words- Maaf kar dena Preet. Is it really very difficult to strike a balance while performing duties as a husband and as a son or a big brother? I guess the answer is yet to be found. The best part- Preet refused to bend , and I love her for that determination. Bravo Girl. The scne belonged to the actor- Mona Singh. You owned it like a queen. Big round of applause for that. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
~SCENE 2~ The Helplessness of Ambivalence

Sab kuch khatam ho raha hai. πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯ΊπŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”
Another poignant yet meaningful scene. The conflict of Rizwan and Ishan performing his duties was superbly written and enacted. Rizwan wanted to save his team mates to safeguard his ultimate mission for which he waited for so many years on one side and Ishan wanted to protect his loved ones, close to his heart at any cost sensing danger. He felt helpless because neither he just could have allowed danger engulf any of his associates nor he could have got unmasked infornt of his beloved. Both would have resulted in a dangerous mess leading him to a blind end, a point of no return. So only words he could say fearing his fate- everything is nearing to its end. His duality which is part of his existence was on the verge of getting exposed , he was unable to find the escape route. If I have to sum it up in few lines would just add I wonder if these words were there in Rizwan Ahmed Khan's mind-
Jazbaat kya hain maula
Haalat kya hain maula
Ke shaatir iske, Saare vaar hain

Har saanse khwahish sile
Saazish hai kuch hain gile
Ke mushkilaatein
Beshumaar hain
πŸ’”β€οΈ
The scene belonged to one and only Iqbal Khan. His body languge to his facial expressions made this breath taking. But the delivery of that dialogue was so haunting that It pulled the strings of heart as it tuned itself for a melancholic song. πŸ’” Take a bow actor. βοΈπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
~SCENE 3~The silent scream of pain
Creation credit- Yamini, source- Twitter @TeamMiqbalkhan
(Do not want to offend anyone, but still apologies in advance as using it without taking the permission of the maker directly)
Entire episode of Thursday with all its scenes featuring Rizwan and Preet were spectacular to say the least. As one frame fades to usher another- we all got dumbstruck by the portrayal of par excellence . Lot has ben said about this episode, so will not add much. Words would fail to actually describe its real essence of all the scenes. It needs to be seen and felt. The pain which failed to scream out loud and the genuine care and affection which sensed the uncanny yet silent presence of it by two people whom Rizwan loves and adores - Preet and Kavya. The dialogue which echoed throughout the episode- Tum Thik toh ho na? β€οΈπŸ’”πŸ’”
I wish Rizwan gathered all his strength once forgetting all his reality and say that he was not okay and he needs to be taken care of with immense love to sooth his excruciating pain. I wish!πŸ₯Ί
The episode left will remain etched in my memory for depicting Pain with such flair. No praise is enough for the man who made that possible. βοΈβοΈβοΈπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
~Special Mention~

A scene which surely needs a special mention is the argument scene which took place in the bedroom. Dialogue which will haunt us and the story -
Agar kal mujhe pata chale ke tum woh Ishan hi nahi ho toh main toh mar jaungi. πŸ’”πŸ’”
That single dialogue showed Rizwan the horrific reflection of him in seconds which he never wants to see but aware of. it always.Betrayal and trust were placed in the same frame by the clever jusxtaposition of Aatif calling Rizwan and Preet saying- Yehi toh hai hamra rishta, bharosa jo hum ek dusre pe karte hai. To hide his uneasiness he only uttered- Kuch nahi hota hai yeh bharosa. He will have to pay heavy price for this betrayal but the irony in this is- No one knows it better than himself only. what did feel exactly? Fear of getting caught or fear of losing the woman who means world to him? The revelation will be devastating for both, lets wait to see who gets perished sooner? The man who betrayed or the woman who trusted?A significant scene laying foundation for future storytelling. Loved the acting of both the actors. They have gulped the characters in such a manner that at times its does not even look like they are in front of camera.
There is no prizes for guessing that once again the crown of performers of the week goes to two lead actors for their acting prowess which keep us hooked to this show- Iqbal Khan and Mona Singh. Take a bow. βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
Having said that will also add, that I will be bit biased this time and choose one as THE ONE for that Thursday's episode. I don't know how did he do it , but whatever was shown onscreen made me disturbed and haunted me for hours. So for that Iqbal Khan gets my ultimate vote. He left me in awe as well at unease to fathom what was actually happening to a fictional character. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Now its your turn folks to share your favourite frames, which left you speechless. Do pour your heart out and relive the magical moments.
P.S-all the caps are given by Asmita @ Rollingstones. Thank you dear for those. Really appreciate your effort.
P.P.S- I have to mention the biggest disappointments of the week too. Its two people who eat our brains and make us feel like why am I watching this. No brownies for guessing, they are Jay Shergill and Naina for whom Hoodas changed their colors so conveniently. One has turned into a cartoon by the most unrealistic depiction of an intelligence agent and the other by still being present in the show. Don't know when we will get spared. Sigh! 😭

Okay so here I am with my take of the scenes of the week 😳. Payal you wrote a beautiful post, i loved your descriptions and categorizations! absolutely wonderful and a treat to read 😳 πŸ‘ , and apka P.P.S 🀣.

Acha okay back to my take, this week i will divide my analysis in terms of writing, execution and acting. There were times when the writers absolutely stole away the show, at times it was the director lifting up the writing with his brilliant execution, and then at times it was the actor which elevated an average screenplay.

Oh boy how much i am enjoying this show which gives so much scope to analyse.

WRITING

This week can undoubtedly be termed as the writers's week! The dialogue writers of PKHJD have been doing a marvelous job (minus shergill please keep in mind 🀣).

The dialogues have been layered, they have multiple meanings and link to different connotations in a similar situation. This is a proof for a wonderful serial. πŸ‘

first mention

"agar mujh kal pata chala k tum ishaan nahi ho tu main tu mar hi jaon gin na"

Preet's unconscious confession hit us all like a hammer in our heads. Since the beginning of the show we have been anticipating and dreading Preet's reaction after the revelation. It makes us all uneasy in heads to think about what will happen when she comes to know the reality of the love of her life, and that day, she says. She says what will happen, although the context of her dialogue was entirely based on parallelism, where she was trying to equate the trust of Sid and Trisha with her relation, but as audience we knew HOW significant that dialogue was, and for the person standing in front of her, it was devastating for him as well, because as much as we dread her reaction, this person, rizwaan .. he is the one who has to face it. So the first card is dropped of Preet's reaction and i loved the duality of the situation and the dialogue.

Second mention :

"Ishaan aur rizwaan ka farq pehchanne ki koshish kar raha hn"

I guess this is the most discussed topic uptill now. We all have been giving long posts about how different are rizwaan and ishaan, and how similar are they. How segregated are rizwaan and ishaan and how harmoniums are they. We discuss and discuss and still are never able to reach a conclusion that is it rizwaan residing in ishaan aur an ishaan has started to make home in rizwaan's body? This confusion which the audience is going thru was verbally confessed by the character. So BRAVO to that. It was a beautiful piece of writing which voiced out the entire conflict of this beautiful character. That dialogue was a confession to himself. It came at a time where his wound received care via two different channels - one was a partner of Rizwaan who was concerned about his fitness for their final plan, while one was ishaan's daughter, who was concerned that her father must be in pain and she should inform mama - and he was trying to decide that which care was real, and then that person takes a deep breath and confesses his deepest conflict.

DIRECTION:

From the time Sohu has mentioned that the director of this show is the real genius behind the legendary Sujal - Kashish, i have been closely observing the direction and execution and trust me i am left amazed at how SUBTLY this person manages to incorporate something swoon worthy in a simple scene. This person has able to create an underlined sexual tension in between frank conversations of Rizwaan and Preet and kudos to him for that. This angle was extremely important for avoiding the couple to become bland. The flavor and incitement that he has added is commendable, and for direction i again have two takes

First mention,

The writs pull in Rizwaan Preet fight after the thapar fiasco. Preet gets pissed off and is ready to apologize, "haan chalo, chalo maafi maangte hain, "and rizwaan holds her wrist and stops her, "meri kahi hui baat doharne main aur meri kahi hui baat manne main farq hai".

This entire exchange of dialogues was very passionate and it was completed with that forceful yet controlled wrist pull. Such small actions elevate the scene and the execution becomes flawless. The wrist pull is very sensuous,, as you all would have noticed it is always on her bare wrist and Rizwaan's hand just envelops it has his own right - so a lot is said with that wrist pull and i simply LOVE its placement. I am left swooning in between an fierce fight

Second Mention

The water sprinkling in kitchen.

It was BEAUTIFUL. like simply beautiful. I dont have anymore words to describe HOW pure, beautiful and swoon worthy was that half a minute gesture. it was so spontaneous and out of the blue that or a minute i didn't even realize that it happened, and then after it was finished i realized how beautiful was it.

a husband sprinkling water on her wife, how symbolically beautiful it is, like throwing glitter and staring her while she shines.

Rizwaan's gaze after the sprinkle was JUST beautiful. Kudos to the director for such brilliant execution of simple scenes.

ACTING

Well do i even need to mention whom i am gonna praise in this? IQBAL KHAN ALL THE WAY! This week belonged to him and him only! This person took a crumbling and weak screen play on his shoulders and elevated it to be a master peice, and that requires talent! REAL TALENT!

Right from the time when he leaves the Hooda house and is followed by Shergill, and then is stuck in the chandani chawk, from draping the blanket to talking to Neeti in immense pain to the BRILLIANT BRILLIANT pain portrayal in Thursday's episode.

Thursday's episode was something out of this world. Wo tu mtlb .. it was PLAIN BRILLIANCE. It was pain depicted to the pro that you wanted to close your eyes, and not miss a single second of that brilliance. Iqbal stole away the lime light, the cherry, the cream, the brownie and every single frame with his brilliance. It was a sheer pleasure to watch him. Iqbal rockstar you made it all worth watching. Everything. Any other actor would have made the bullet track look silly because the screen play has loop holes, but it is only Iqbal's talent that we have not been able to take our eyes off the screen. BRILLIANCE!!

So summing up this week yet again there were some brilliant scenes after which all the drawbacks are forgiven of this beautiful story in progress .

Sorry for being super late this time.. But here I amπŸ˜†
This week was owned by Iqbal and Mona. No denying that. But a special mention for that little girl who plays Kavya cause I felt she was absolutely brilliant in that single scene with Iqbal on Friday. I'm still in awe of that beautiful and poignant scene. So, may God bless this child. She is turning out to be really really good. She is natural, and the best thing about her is , she brings the best in Iqbal too. Iqbal and her scenes are pure magic. ❀️
Okay, coming to my favourites scenes of this week. Here they go:

A) 'Agar kal ko mujhe pata chala ki tum woh Ishaan nahi ho toh main toh mat jaungi na Ishaan'

Fabulous is the word! That single dialogue triggered so many expressions. Mona singh was a beauty. And Iqbal with that single guilt struck expression nailed it and HOW. πŸ‘
Preet tells Rizwaan that the very basis of their relationship is trust, respect and faith and indirectly foretells him how her life would get shattered upon betrayal. And Rizwaan is immediately struck with the impact of those words for he knows he is the one who is cheating her, betraying her at every step and the day Preet comes to know of it, she will be broken..and very badly!
Rizwaan's helpless feeling, his guilt, his anger, Preet's voice of reasoning~ everything together in a single frame was brilliance personified.πŸ‘

B) 'Sab kuch khatam horaha hai..'

πŸ‘πŸ‘
This scene had Iqbal written all over it. His paranoia about everything that unfolded infront him and his helplessness of not being able to do anything was a delight to watch. Fantastic execution, and even more beautiful acting.
On one hand he had Atif and Sana who were his team mates and on the other hand he had Preet and the Hoodas, and he had to safeguard both the parties at the same time.
It was a test for IshRiz, and both emerged victorious! ⭐️

C) 'Tum theek ho Ishaan?'

Back at home when Rizwaan tries to hide his injury and to ignore Preet he gobbles up the sandwich at a go. He was in too much pain but he just couldn't afford to tell anything to her. Moreover going to the hospital would have been a big issue and so Ishaan decides to ensure the pain all on his own with a bullet wound, not with the liberty of even wincing in pain.
My heart went out to this man. I don't know what more to say, what more to write so that I can actually describe his pain. But Rizwaan Ahmed Khan, no matter how brave and strong a sipahi e is, dard usko BHI hota hai.. And that dard was flawlessly portrayed on screen that day.
Preet could sense something was amiss, she even asked Ishaan to tell her the truth by giving him her 'kasam'. Her feeling of something is not right with Rizwaan was so touching. It's like kuch bhi ho jaata hai, no matter how trivial it is, Preet can just sense it. I guess thats what you call soulmate.😳

D) rizwaan-Kavya scene:

Iss scene ke liye jitna bhi bolu kam hai. One of the most beautiful scenes in pkhjd so far. I can't even explain how I felt watching this scene. Beautiful.❀️

Special mentions~

A) " Aaj bina thappad maare tumne mera bharosa todha hai"
B) "Aaj se humare rishtey mein respect nahi hogi"
C) "Sorry Preet.. Lekin agar aaj Ishaan hota toh woh bhi bilkul yehi karta.."
D) "Main Ishaan aur Rizwaan ke beech farq pehchaan ne ki koshish kar raha hoon"
E) 'Itne dino baad tumhare chehre pe asli muskurahat aai hai"

Each of these scenes had their own aura, their own brilliance.
I'll elabolare these five scenes in a while payal..by the end of this day.. Cause these five scenes were equally brilliant as the above mentioned four, if not more!😳

P.s: special special mention to Atif bhai who cared about Rizwaan. Yes, he had his selfish reasons for wanting to see him fit but chalo no matter how selfish the reason is, kisine khayal toh rakha Rizwaan ka. And that's worth the appreciation.😳

Great scenes both Payal.. πŸ‘πŸΌ Couldn't have selected anything better. These two scenes tell the story of the week.

Although Rizwan has been living under Ishaan's name from the past 4 years, this week really brought him to the reality I guess. His mission vs his family for the first time were kind of in a face-off. Brilliantly done πŸ‘ I never knew Iqbal Khan was this good. 😳 Superb acting ! πŸ‘
He has been conflicting in his mind from quite sometime now but to actually face it

Although Preet didn't bend at first, baad mein she went and apologized.. 😭 I guess that was only her way out at that time to expose Naina at any time.. Yay for Neeti πŸ‘ She truly loves Preet. Trisha is useless and selfish.. She comes to bhabhi only when she needs help 😑

I don't mind Shergill as much if the story and the other actors do so well. Bass.. Naina ko hatao yaar. Her cosntipated expressions are a put off. πŸ₯± Atleast Shergill brings in something relevant to the story but yeh Naina ki story is useless drama.

More cat and mouse game on Monday I guess..πŸ˜›πŸ˜ƒ

Thanks Payal! It was a treat reading your write up. No prizes for guessing my most favourite scene (scenes I should say) among other favourites... The whole of Thursday episode.. No person with his/her heart in its right place can remain unaffected by the sheer brilliance of that episode..

You are right when you say there can never be one favourite scene each week.. The writers give us no chance! The Ishaan Preet Argument scene...Preets 'Bina thapad mare he...' And Ishaan's 'Mera kaha karne mein aur maan ne mein...' Like dialogues really made that scene worth it... You have explained the scene perfectly Payal ^

Then I would like to mention tge Chandani Chowk scene.. Preet looking up and seeing Ishaan..their telephone conversation... One of a kind scene that was... Same episode I loved the Preet Meeti scene where Neeti says she believes Preet... It was funny, well enacted and made us all happy..Naina ke dushman humare dost kind of feeling..

Special mention to the Ishaan Kavya scene.. The symbolic fairytale story time to Kavya giving Ishaan a bandaid... That scene really spoke for itself..

Then Ishaan playing spot the difference between Ishaan and Rizwaan yesterday.. Atif told him to go visit a doctor and he remembers his time with Kavya and Preet, insisting to call a doctor... Atif's concern for Ishaan's safety was more for the safety of their mission... But Preet's and Kavya's concern had no selfish agenda... It was a genuine concern for him out of love... That's why when Atif asked him what he has said, Ishaan said 'you won't understand Atif'...

The food scene and the water splashing scene... Awww cute cute cute!! Preet's reaction was sweet!... It was also symbolic in the sense that Ishaan splashing cold water on Preet as if forcing her to come to her senses... Stop searching for my truth.. give me back my smiling Preet..

Shergill... Words just fail me! If on Monday Ishaan dances and Shergill is there to watch it then that will be my favourite scene for the next week.. I know in advance!

Aur Naina...Hope Preet and Neeti kick her out asap.. Ab bardast nahi hota..

You wrote down very well

For me the Thursday episode was the best.
Rizwaan hiding his pain and Preet sensing it was the best.

Meri kahi huwi baat ko kehne aur meri baat maan ne me bohot farak he
This line was the best.

Next follows Lekin kal ko agar muje ye pata chale k tum woh Ishaan hi nahi ho jise me maan ti aayi hu to to me to marjayungi na Ishaan

Yesterday's kitchen scene.
Here Preet sensed that Ishaan is hiding something that's why she told Badi mami aap na jaakar sojaawo, Ishaan ko me dekhti hu muje pata he baat kuch aur he
