Love Conquers All

Part 1.

Swara

Love is quite a confusing thing. You never know when you will fall prey to it, when it will swallow your heart and your mind in its all encompassing reach. Your thoughts start circling around that certain someone. Your heartbeats quicken just by the mention of their name. Your eyes keep searching for them even in a roomful of strangers, and if you close your eyes, all you can see is their face, the sparkle in their eyes when they smile, the way their nose scrunches when they laugh. Your nose just wants to breathe their smell. Your fingers itch to touch their skin. Your feet want to walk towards them, closing all physical distance. Your body yearns for their touch... A hug, a kiss, a brush of lips.

Swara never knew when she was infected by this beautiful disease. And a disease so deadly, she couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, couldn't function knowing that the one she'd lost her heart to be close to her anymore. The one she considered her best friend had now become the one she LOVED. Her lifeline - her one thing necessary to live, to breath, the BE. HER Sanskar.

Ragini had come to Badi in all vengeance the day before. She had thrown a brown package of papers on her face, the one she held in her hand right now, and laughed at her, a laughter that had chilled her to the bones. She knew her sister. This could mean no good. She had looked at the package to see if she could figure out what it was that could provide such evil happiness to Ragini when she had seen Sanskar's name along with her's written in bold on the legal looking envelope. A chill made home in the pit of her stomach - the one you have when you know you've lost the most precious thing in your life - which had refused to leave her since then. With shaky fingers she'd opened the envelope to find divorce papers already signed by Sanskar. She'd been consumed by numbness, not registering a word of whatever it was that Ragini was spewing at her. Tears were streaming down her ashen cheeks. Her body, drained of energy by this shock had given up and she'd fallen on the floor in a heap, her eyes closing, missing Ragini's smirk at the success of her first plan on the way to destroying Swara and Sanskar.

This was just how Shomi had found her, unconscious and shivering, when she came back from meeting Sanskar. Worried she'd called the Dr., who had told her that Swara just needed some rest. She would be fine in a day or two. Shomi, unable to see the pain in her daughter's eyes, had asked Swara numerous times what the matter was. But Swara being Swara, had hidden the papers from her mother's ever alert eyes. She after all didn't know that she'd returned to badi forever, given that the excuse she'd given to her mother for returning was as basic as that she was missing her mother a lot and just wanted to visit for a few days. Swara knew that her mother always liked Sanskar and if she got to know about the divorce papers, being as chill as they were with each other, she would go and talk to him. She did not want to pressurize him in anyway regarding this relationship, just as he had not, even after confessing his love for her and expressing his wish to stay with her forever. Her love for him was as pure as his and she completely respected his decisions. The problem was just that she no longer wanted to stay away from him and he wasn't talking to her. She did not want to bring anyone else in this decision of theirs, not even her mother, for she was afraid of making any more mistakes than she already had regarding this precious relationship. How would she express her innermost feeling to him, now that he had cut her call for the nth number of time!

The moment found her holding the divorce papers, tears still running down her cheeks. Her mind was still unable to come up with a sane plan where she could have a face to face with Sanskar without offending him more. The only thing she was afraid now was the distance growing between them by the minute. She was growing desperate now to hear his calming voice, to hear him give her a sane advice, to see once again the look of pure adoration on his face that she knew was reserved just for her. Just then she heard Shomi's voice. She was talking on the phone with someone at the Maheshwari Mansion. Sensing that her mother was close by and not wanting her to get worried more than she already was, Swara quickly wiped her face and put on the cheerful mask she'd become an expert at putting on in these last few days. Shomi soon passed through the room informing Swara that they had all been invited by Ragini to the Mansion for Sanskar's birthday party. Swara was appalled at herself for forgetting Sanskar's birthday but her spirits were suddenly raised when she realised that this was a chance for her to talk with him and maybe even explain to him that she wanted this relationship after all and that the divorce would be a huge mistake. With that thought in mind, her heart finally found some peace and she was finally able to have some much needed sleep.

Part 2.

Shomi

A mother's instincts never lie. She had noticed her shona's depression and the stricken look on her face that had stayed on for the last 24 hours. The fact that she was unable to point the reason for her daughter's unease was eating her from within. She remembered her meeting with Sanskar. His unease when she has passingly mentioned Swara. She knew from her female instincts that he wanted to ask more about her daughter, he could see the eagerness in his eyes. After all, both the families knew how deeply he loved her... They had all witnessed the concern he had for Swara and the way he had scolded her for taking such a huge risk with her safety when she and Ragini had devised that risky trap to expose Lakshya. He was obviously her favourite son-in-law, not considering that Lakshya didn't even deserve to be acknowledged as one given all that he had done. But she'd assumed that Sanskar would have been a bit embarrassed talking about her given that he already had called the night before that day and early that morning to ask how she was doing.

She thought of all that she and Sanskar had talked about. He wished to set up a new business now that Dadi and Ragini had duped the Maheshwari family of their business and property and create a secure future for everyone in his family. He was having meetings with prospects and was heavily busy for the last few days, hence she had thought it wise not to call him when she found Swara unconscious because it would have highly stressed him and affected his meetings. She knew how much her shona's wellbeing mattered to him. Later she assumed that they would have talked and didn't think much of it after seeing the peace on her shona's face before she went to sleep.

A mother's eye of course doesn't miss much. She had started noticing the way her daughter looked at her husband. She'd also witnessed her searching for him first whenever she entered any room and the glow that blushed on her face after finding him. She'd also not missed the sly ways that both of them used to steal glances at each other whenever the other one wasn't looking. It all reminded her of her own courting days with her now husband Shekhar. She could bet her heart that her daughter had very much fallen in love, even though she had yet to introspect on it and realise it. But she knew that that too was not quite far... a little nudge in the right direction was all that was needed to make her shona realise Sanskar's value in her life. (Little did she know that her shona had already received the much needed nudge). So she decided that if by after the party Swara doesn't realise and confess her love for Sanskar, she'd have to take matters in her own hand. After all she knew the pain of staying away from the love of her life for ages and she didn't want Sanskar to go through the same pain now that she knew her daughter too was starting to get invested in the relationship. Content with having decided a course of action, she switched off the lamp by the bedside and turned to Shekhar who enveloped her in his arms, thanking God as he did every night, for finally granting him the Grace of gifting him his Shomi forever.

Part 3.

Ragini

Ragini had all her life danced to the tune of others, believed everything that others told her, did what they said and thought what they wanted. Now she had had enough. She was done begging for the things she wanted, fed up of being side-lined always.

She had only ever given her heart to one person. The person who betrayed her with her own sister, tried to write her - his wife - off his life, stabbed her heart at every turn, played with her emotions, used her, pushed her away when HE was all she wanted. He did not try to understand that whatever she did was to obtain his love. That was all she wanted in her life. He went behind her back and made an elaborate scheme with Swara and Sanskar to bring out her truth. He pushed her out of his house and his life. He tried to cut all ties with HER. And when nothing worked, he tried to kill her!

Sanskar. He was the one who pushed her into this world of darkness for HIS motives. Turned her against her own family to succeed with HIS plan. Yes, she did have her own motives in joining hands with him but she wouldn't have done all this if HE hadn't given her the backing and that final push. And then what had he done? He went and left her high and dry when they were about to break Swara and Lakshya and he did not stop at that... He started supporting SWARA. Even after her marriage with Lakshya, he didn't stop! He went ahead and fake married Swara and tried to ruin all her plans of making Lakshya love her and forget that good for nothing Goody-Two-Shoes. Sanskar just wouldn't leave her alone. What not had she done to make him leave her tail and get off her back. Now she'll have to cut his page from the book of her life once and for all.

Swara Swara was all she was used to hearing since her childhood, always being cast second to her. Whatever Swara decided was acted upon, everyone would stop to listen when she spoke, even her Papa listened to Swara and gave greater importance to Swara's wishes. If that wasn't enough, she even took away from her the man she loved more than life itself! HER Lakshya! How could she?

Her game plan was very simple. Give equal or more pain to the one who hurts you. Lakshya was the person whom she had loved the most in her life. It could be termed obsession as well... not that she regretted it! For him, she had a special plan. She was going to make his life hell, moment after moment, day after day. Not for one moment will he experience peace. She will bring him down to his knees and then some more. From this moment onwards, the only aim of her life was Lakshya's destruction - mentally and emotionally. She did not care of what lenghths she might have to go for that. She'd once crossed all limits in love, she didn't mind doing that again in hate.

Swara and Sanskar - the mismatched pair where one is holier than thou' and the other might as well be the spawn of Satan'. Even after all the trouble she went to harm either one, the other always stood up to defend, to comfort, to support. How fed up she was of them! But she'd also found their Archille's Heel. Sanskar was deeply invested in Swara. His love for her was unconditional. After all the doubting Swara did on him, he still only though of her happiness. How she wished she could have something like that... That sweet, pure love that she saw in his eyes. And even though Swara didn't know about it yet, she too was falling for Sanskar. Separating them from each other would be tricky but then they themselves were helping her out. This game was going to be so easy, she was already smiling in glee. She'd make them go through the same agony (or maybe even more) that she went through when they'd made Lakshya push her out of his life. Aah, the sweet taste of revenge...

Her first blow had been dealt. The divorce papers had reached Swara. Forging Sanskar's signatures hadn't been easy, but she'd got it done. After all, there isn't much that money can't buy. Her phone beeped. "Contractor: Work done. The desired result will be achieved at 9:45 PM the day of the party." Short, sweet and below the belt - just as she liked it. It was time to sleep. After all it was to be a big day tomorrow!

P.S. for this chapter: It's from RAGINI'S POV. I, as an author, am not justifying her deeds. This is just a portrayal of maybe how her thinking works. So no rotten tomatoes please! 🤗

Part 4.

Swara

Morning till evening she was restless, unable to concentrate on anything. She'd burned the milk, kept her own folded clothes in her parents' cupboard and theirs in hers. She'd kept her notebook in the fridge and the jar of nutella in her cupboard. Shomi was witnessing this all with a silent smile and a burst of happiness in her heart cause she knew her daughter was missing Sanskar. But she had to finally tell her to stop and sit in a place when she started cutting vegetables with a sharp knife without even looking down, lost in her thoughts...

She wanted to look the prettiest today. It was her love's birthday and possibly the day where she told him how much she loved him ❤️ . Searching her cupboard for her best sarees, she came across the dress Sanskar had gifted her just a few days back. He'd needed to go to the factory for some work and she'd accompanied him just for company. On the way there at a signal he'd caught her staring wistfully at this beautiful anarkali draped at a stores window. The next day she'd found it on her bed. That sweet gesture had touched her soul. Sanskar loved her so much, cared for her so much that he was intune with her minutest gestures, most intimate wishes. At that point she'd thought that it was just a BFF's gift to another. Now she realised how precious was this gift given with pure love. She dressed up her best, wore his favorite earrings - the ones she'd worn at her muh-dikhai, wore her favorite red lipstick and left with Shomi for the party.

All the who's who of the town were present at the the party, except for Sanskar, who was no where to be seen. There was a quiet desperation in her eyes, visible to anyone observant enough to see. The party had started at 7 PM and it was now 8:15 PM. Where was Sanskar? His timing was really aweful! Just when she wanted to tell him the words that he so longed to hear...

She really needed a breath of fresh air.

Sanskar

Bade Papa had told him to finish with all the paper work at office and reach home by 7 PM and given him enough work to last him 3 days. (AN: It was by Ragini's orders that DP did this. Sanskar is unaware of the party.) He was trying to finish everything ASAP to reach home on time. There was this gut feeling nagging him that something unexpected was going to happen. On top of that he wasn't able to shut his mind from thinking about Swara. How would he finish his work this way? He remembered her striken look when he'd told her to leave the house. How sorry he was about that. He just wanted to hold her in his arms and kiss the tears off her cheeks. But of course he had to restrain himself for her sake as well as his. This everyday torture of her missions had to stop if he wanted to stay sane.

Sanskar tried never to be late. But today, finishing his work and TRYING not to think of Swara itself had been a task. He somehow would have to train his mind to focus and not listen to his heart. It was around 7:45 PM. If he drove fast enough, he'd still be able to reach home by 8:10, hoping there was no traffic..

Part 5.

Sanskar

The traffic was horrendous. It was 8:05 PM now and he still was some 10-15 mins away from home. There was a marriage procession going on. The crowd, the music, the joy on peoples face, everything irritated him. It all reminded him of Swara. The fact was, everything reminded him of Swara nowadays. The more he tried to keep himself away from her, the more she invaded his being; to a point where he was unsure weather maintaining a distance from her was a good idea. Sure, staying in proximity with her, talking to her, breathing her, continuously wishing for her to be a permanent part of his life was a torture, it was a sweet torture comparing to what he was feeling now. His being itself craved her. Trying to stay away from her caused him physical ache. His hands craved to wipe her tears; his arms craved to hold her secure, away from the constant torture she went through; his eyes craved staring at her, to observe the minutest change of expressions on her highly expressive face and try to decipher what was going on in that beautiful head of hers; his ears craved to hear her voice calling his name, making it sound o beautiful, saying it with such emotion and intensity as no one else ever could... when she spoke his name, even his name became divine. The daily efforts that he put in in avoiding her and the constant restrain that he had to observe on his will had started giving him severe headaches which kept him up at nights.. where again, all he could think of was Swara. Just her.. always her. And if by chance he'd fall asleep, he'd dream of holding her close, kissing her, taking away all her pains, gifting her joys, loving her.. just loving her to eternity and beyond. But then he'd wake up to a void in his arms where he'd imagined Swara to be and he'd cry bitterly for the loss of another love. This love that was purer and way more precious than the one before. He would die before doing anything that would in anyway reduce Swara's happiness - just the reason why he needed to stay away from her.

It was 8:20 PM by the time he pulled in the driveway for Maheshwari Mansion. Everything was decorated to the hilt. The tree near the main entrance was glittering with blinking lights and flower decorations were set up everywhere. He tried hard to remember if today was some festival when suddenly he realised it was his birthday. He was so not ready for this. The turmoil in his heart would not let him keep on a poker mask. He will need to cool down. He tried to go to his garden, clinging to the shadows to avoids any eyes looking out of the window. Just as he turned around the corner, he saw Swara pacing near the newly potted plants. No no no.. He needed to leave from here. He briskly walked back to his car, sat in and drove off.

Swara

She was getting really nervous now. A sinking gut feeling had settled in her stomach after watching the cunning in Ragini's eyes. She had been texting on and off vigorously and furiously with someone just a few minutes ago, but a scary calm had now settled over her face. Swara had a very strong feeling that this was the calm before a devastating storm. It was 8:20 PM already. The party had started at 6 PM. Where was he? Was he in danger? Dear God! She hoped he wasn't in danger. She unlocked her phone and called him.

Sanskar

She wouldn't let him have a minute of peace, now would she? He cut her first 15 calls. and was just about to switch off his cell when he accidentally picked it up. Before he could understand what was happening, Swara started speaking.

Sw: Sanskar tum kahan ho? Please mera phone mat kaatna. Muje tumse ek zaruri baat karni hai. Wo...

Sn: Me ajnabiyo se baat karna pasand nahin karta. Please phone karna bandh karo aur mera picha chod do.

Saying this, he cut the call and switched off the phone with tears in his eyes. He stopped the car because his vision was becoming blurry. In his mental musings he hadn't even realised that his subconscious had brought him to Swara's favourite park. He got out of the car, went inside and sat on a bench.. deep in his guilt of brushing off Swara's pleadings.

Swara

The gut feeling was getting stronger and stronger and Sanskar's phone was coming switched off. She had never felt so helpless, not even when Ragini had taken away her dreams and hopes from her.. not even when Badi Ma and Mom were accusing her of double dating their children. Ragini was sporting that sneering smile she had, Swara remembered, whenever she realised that something was going right as she wanted it to go. Swara started praying to God, making all sorts of promises if He kept her Sanskar safe.

Ragini

If this plan succeeded, she would be successful in harming one of her targets. The plan had suffered a bit of a hitch because her hired man had seen someone in the parking lot just as he was about to start his work, but now everything was back on track. Her face reflected her calmness at this knowledge. She couldn't wait for the clock to strike 9:45...

Part 6.

Sanskar

It was 9:30 PM by the time Sanskar returned home. He'd been hoping that all the guests must have left, keeping in mind that the Maheshwaris were a conservative family and parties got over by 9:00 PM latest. He locked his car and walked inside. The lights in the main hall were switched off. He didn't bother switching on the lights and started climbing the stairs. Just as he reached the landing, he bumped with someone, tripping and taking the other person down with him too. He twisted mid-fall so that only he would be affected by the force of it, saving the other person from any injury. The person landed right on top of him. Hurriedly, he switched on the screen of his phone and it illuminated Swara's face. Sanskar was in a shock. He had not expected Swara to still be in the house.

Sw: Sanskar, me tumhare upar hu.

He quickly righted her, got up, and helped her too. He could see the worry in her eyes, followed by quick relief. Sanskar wasn't even sure what he was feeling right now. Was it rage for he still couldn't keep himself away from her? Was it disgust that he was so easily swayed towards her? Was it happiness on seeing her face, on getting to smell her intoxicating smell again? Was it love, just love, for her? Lost in his emotions he didn't realize the moment when Swara lovingly cupped his face in her palms. He was snatched out of his reverie and remembering his promise to himself he took hold of her hand and pulled her out of the house.

Ragini

It was almost time. Lakshya was sitting in front of her. She got into talking with him, making him reluctantly respond. Suddenly she remembered and reminded him that one of the bags of yesterday's shopping was still in the boot of his car. He should go get it if they dont want the car-boot smell to get seeped in.

Lakshya

He stared at his wife in mild disgust. But having no option, seeing that she was now the malkin of the house, he stepped out of the room and went downstairs.

Sanskar

He constantly reminded himself that he needed to do this if he wanted to remain sane. His heart would not - could not - take this abuse anymore. This was it. She had to be out of his life RIGHT NOW. Before he could lose his will-power. He ignored her pleadings, refusing to even give her even a chance to speak. He flung her hand away from himself.. trying to push her off. He was so lost in sorrow and disgust at himself, he miscalculated the force he used while trying to push her off.

Ragini

Hiding behind the curtains, standing at the window facing the ongoing drama, anticipating her victory, she was glad that the number of her victims was miraculously increasing. She murmured beneath her breath: Mohobbat hai buri... Buri hai mohobbat.. Kahe ja rahe hai.. Kiye ja rahe hai..

The clock showed 9:44 PM.

Lakshya

He game out of the main door of the house and turned towards his car. The scene in front of him stopped him in his tracks. Hope blossomed in his heart. Swara and Sanskar were fighting. Was this the end to their relationship? Does this mean he could have another chance with Swara? He hid behind the pillar and decided to see what was going on..

Swara

The force behind his push was unexpected. She faltered a few steps behind, loosing her balance while also trying to control it. The headlight part of the bonnet of Lakshya's car hit her behind her knees and she fell on her back. Trying to get up, she saw some red light blinking underneath the car. Trying to focus on what it was, she saw numbers blinking rapidly in a countdown.

00:10

Sanskar

His heart came in his throat when he saw her fall. His self disgust increased. What was he doing? He went closer to her.. he wanted to her her get up. Why was she not getting up?

00:09

Swara

What was happening? Her brain refused to accept the reality. A bomb? Here?

Suddenly she realised Sanskar was still here. He had not left. He would get hurt. She would have to get him to go away from here.

00:08

She tried to get up but realised she had badly sprained her right foot. In the terror of it all she had not realised it and fell down as soon as she tried to get up.

00:07

Sanskar

Was she hurt? Had he hurt her? He crunched next to her and saw tears in her eyes. He saw terror in them. Was she afraid of him? He would never want to knowingly hurt her..

Sn: Sorry Swara galti se dhakka...

Sw: Sanskar jao yaha se..

00:06

Sn: Swara please utho tum.. Apna hath do muje..

(Somehow he gets Swara to stand up)

00:03

Sw: please Sanskar.. Jaao yahan se.. Ye ca...

Sn: Tumhe chot lagi hai? Mene dekha tumne apna paer pakad rakha tha.. Dekhne do muje..

00:01

(Sanskar tries to bend down to see her foot. Swara puts all his strength and pushes him away from her)

00:00

Before he could comprehend what was happening, a blasting sound assaulted his ears. He felt an unbelievable amount of heat scorching his skin and he was pushed back and thrown on the ground by a violent force. His last thought before loosing consciousness was SWARA...

Part 7.

Sujata

Restricted by the glass barrier, she stared at her son, lying unconscious, whispering Swara's name over and over again. Silent sobs racked her body. Unable to help her son in anyway, she buried her face in her husband's embrace. It was only now that she realised Sanskar's love for Swara. She realised her folly. Swara had time and again saved her son from danger. And what had she done? She'd gone ahead and accused her of every crime and sin possible. Her prejudices melted away and she was now ready to accept her bengalan bahu with an open heart.

Sanskar

It was 3 hours later that he opened his eyes. He was hooked to various machines. The nurse saw his responsiveness and rang the doctor. Sanskar had suffered a heavy concussion and a hairline fracure to his skull. He was still fazed out, not really realizing his condition or even registering the fact of his being in a hospital. He disorientedly looked around and not seeing Swara anywhere started to call out for her.

The doctor came in and checked Sanskar's vitals. Almost normal. But they still didn't know the damaged caused by the concussion. They tried to talk with him cheerfully, but Sanskar was not ready to listen to anything. All he could think about was Swara. He started screaming for her after seeing that even the doctor was not calling Swara. He was now getting really scared, not able to understand what was happening and went into a frenzy. The doctor worried for his health and took the decision to sedate him.

(In his sedated state, the doctors did all the tests required. Results were normal. The doctors decided that it would be OK now to tell him about Swara)

12 hours later.

He was on the verge of consciousness. His head was throbbing. He started remembering. He had been angry.. Swara was crying.. She had fallen down.. He had gone to her.. She had pushed him away.. There had been a blast.. SWARA!

He sat up with a start. Where was she? was she ok? There had been a blast, and she was near the source. He tried to get up from the bed, but the needles in his arms stopped him. He pulled them out, not caring for the injuries that could cause. Even though he was dizzy, he somehow reached the door and pulled it open.

A shocked Sujata met him outside, worried for his heath, begging him to go back inside. Sanskar was not ready to listen to anything that she had to say and kept repeating only one question. Where was Swara? Finally, he saw Durga Prasad, turning around the corner. (DP had met the doctors and knew it was OK to tell him about Swara now.) DP told him to calm down, and that he could not meet Swara in this state of mind. Sanskar took a deep breath and told he was ready. Sanskar knew that he had to be ready for the worst possible scenario, but he had to be strong too.. He could not dare to be weak in the face of whatever he would have to face.

Durga Prasad took him in the ICU. As soon as he saw Swara, he went into a state of shock. Tears running down his face, body numb, hands and feet cold.. Swara was on bed no. 9. Her left hand was in a cast, right foot sprained, a fractured rib which had lacerated her lung. Fer body was covered with bleeding bruises and minor burns. The force of the blast had thrown her off too, scorching her with it's heat. She had been kept on a ventilator. Durga Prasad made Sanskar sit on a bed besides her and got him a glass of water. He thought it wise to then leave Sanskar to his grief. Swara had not woken up in all this time and the doctor had pronounced if she did not gain consciousness in the next 3 hours, she would become a critical case.

Sanskar sat beside her, his mind devoid of all thoughts. He just kept remembering her face, pleading him to go away.. Did she know about the bomb? Was that her attempt to save his life by possibly giving up his own? His mahaan Swara Devi to the rescue again. But then, hope blossomed in his heart. 'Does this mean she feels for me?' No. That can not be. She must have done it because that's how she is. It's her nature. Even though he believed that Swara didn't love him, and believed it with his soul, he couldn't stop his protective instincts towards her. She would always think of others before she thought of herself. That's what had made her admire her in the beginning of their relationship.

Wait. What had he done!? How could he have made such a huge mistake? He had failed! Failed at understanding his Swara. Of course she would not had understood or reciprocated his feelings. She had gone through so much at the hands of love in her past.. Her Baba, Lakshya, Dadi, Ragini.. All the people she had loved had some how or the other betrayed her trust, insulted her love.. She was just scared of trusting, of loving. Of course she would. And it was natural. How could he fail to understand that?

He longed for any sort of contact with her. He couldn't think of losing her. His hand crept towards hers and softly, ever so softly, he slipped his pinky finger in hers... He wrapped his other arm around her stomach. Resting his face near hers on her pillow, he whispered in her ears, "Swara, I Love You".

Swara

She felt herself falling.. deeper and deeper. It was suffocating her.. the darkness, the numbness. She couldn't feel. She wanted to feel, but she couldn't. She saw HIM then, right there, touchable, if only she could lift her hand and touch him.. feel him.. She couldn't move.

She screamed out his name, but her voice failed.. She cried for him, but her eyes wouldn't tear.. He stepped back, once again. She was desperate now. He couldn't, he couldn't leave her here. Not like this.. Not hanging between life and death. She tried calling him.. tried and tried.. And just when she was about to give up hope, he turned around, came to her, held her in his arms and whispered in her ears, "Swara, I Love You".

Sanskar

She breathed in noisily, once, twice, and opened her beautiful eyes.. "Sanskar"...

Part 8.

Swara

Sanskar was here. She was still groggy from the medicines, but knowing that Sanskar was here, holding her safe, his arm around her stomach, was enough to give her peace. Her heart beats resumed their normal pace and she closed her eyes. Then she remembered that Sanskar still didn't know she loved him. She thought of making the confession a grand surprise but then thought that that wouldn't do. Her emotions were now so strong that she couldn't keep them locked in her heart anymore. She had to let him know of her heart's most intimate desire: HIM

The doctors had by now entered the room. The nurse proceeded to give her the required medication, with Sanskar anxiously looking over. She was now out of danger. After everyone had wished her well and left the room, Sanskar sat besides her.

Sw: Sanskar, tum.. (Almost whispering because of medication, injuries and weakness.)

Sn: Bilkul chup. Kya kar diya ye tumne? Ese koi karta hai kya? Tumne muje heart attack hi de diya. Khud ki jaan jokhim me daal ke meri jaan bachane chali thi tum? Tumhe lagta hai ki tumhe agar kuch ho jata to main tumhare bina ji pata?

Sw: Tumhe kuch ho jata toh main bhi toh tumhare bagair jee nahi pati na..

Sn: Kyun? Tumhe koi naya dost mil hi jata na tang karne ke liye!! (Trying to be sarcastic and make her smile)

Sw: Par muje toh mere Sanskar ke alawa koi bhi nahi chahiye.

Sn: (Speachless..)

Sw: Main tumse pyaar karti hun Sanskar.. I Love you.. Itne dino se tumhe vohi kehne ki koshish kar rahi thi. I really love you. Nahi soch sakti main tumhare bagair ki zindagi.

Sn: Swara, sach me? Sach me tum mujse pyaar kati ho? (still in shock, not able to believe what is happening because its his biggest dream come true)

Sw: Ha Sanskar. Muje tumse divorce nahi chahiye.. me hamare rishte ko aage badhana chahti hu. Please muje divorce mat do..

Sn: (Coming out of his shock) Magar Swara, mene koi divorce papers nahin bheje..

Sw: Magar Ragini toh muje aa kar tumhare sign kiye hue divorce papers de kar..

Sn: (Straightening) {you know how he does when a bulb goes on in his head..😳} Ab samja. Main bas ek minute me aya Swara. Tum rest karo. Main bas abhi aya..

Sanskar

He moves to go out of the room but turns back at the door.. "Swara, main tumse bohot pyaar karta hun.. Kabhi tumhare bagair nahin reh sakta. Please dubara apne aap ko kabhi khatre me mat daalna. Main jee nahin paunga," Swara smiles, nods her head and closes her eyes, finally at peace, her broken heart mended, giving up her battle against the sleep medication the nurse had administered.

Sanskar now let the mask he had carefully worn on his face for the sake of Swara slip. What replaced calmness and pure love was Rage. Rage for Ragini, so potent and so frightening, DP too halted in his tracks for a second. Sanskar came to him and took him aside.

Sanskar told Dp about the divorce papers, the bomb, the fact that the bomb had been planted in Lakshya's car, that he had solid reasons to beieve that Ragini was behind everything. He told him the divorce papers must have fake signature, those could be enough to give them reason to put Ragini behind bars in a fraud case. And as for the bomb, he gave DP the name and number of a detective who was very good at investigating criminal cases. He also requested DP to ask the police for maximum security outside Swara's room at the hospital and at home.

That done, he went to the doctor to ask if Swara could now be shifted out of the ICU. On getting a positive reply, he requested that he and Swara be accomodated in the same room. He wanted to stay with her as much as possible. She shouldn't be out of his site for a single minute for his entire life was his wish. He had finally gained her love, so precious and pure, he never wanted to lose her.
