Why this movie flopped? - Page 3

I liked the movie's concept and SRK's charisma was on other level those days.But its presentation lacked finesse all the way.If it was directed by a Raju Hirani,would have went on to become a phenomenon..I can see why KNPH with a worse story line but better execution fared better..Even SRK does.😆..The movie had beautiful songs though😳

Seriously its sad that none of SRK's popular pairings can be appreciated without pitting them against SRK-Kajol!Haters themselves set SRK-Kajol as benchmark & then whine😆.I think SRK-Juhi were very cute,endearing like today's Ranveer-Anushka.But I dont think they cud do passionate romance well like SRK-Kajol.They had a song like SHM in Raju ban gaya & it came out very amateur IMO.Might be the reason,none of their movies went on to become ATBBs though they did so many movies together.I think SRK-PC is the only pairing after SRK-Kajol who does intense romance with sexual tension well while SRK with PZ,Juhi etc are very sweet,bubbly and entertaining.Overall SRK's energy and charisma is way too much that he can even romance a stone like people claim😛😆

Had nice concept but execution was bad, it's tone was inconsistent, it was as if they couldn't decide what to make with the idea they have - an out an out slapstick comedy or have a serious take. The end result was a half baked product with good moments in between.

Oh and it never took off to be hit by Kaho Na Pyaar Hai storm, it was flop from opening day 😉

It was an awful movie deserved to be flop.

Well didnt have an idea it was due to KNPH...though I LOVEDD KNPH like crazy and still HR is my fav hero of all times. But storywise I feel PBDHH was an amazing movie. It could be tagged as OTT in some parts but it was funny without a doubt. And the whole idea of a sassy working independent woman made me love the movie all the more. Juhi's characters always used to be so full of life. Chirpy and notorious. And I loved that about her. SRK ofcourse looked best during those days.

He looked his absolute best in those days. He was handsome in KKHH, Dil Se, Yes Boss. Even though looks are subjective and people have their preferences, I still have no idea how people found him ugly then in comparison to the balding Sallu or invisible Aamir.

- SRK had little success in 1999 so already expectations from this film were not as high
- KNPH storm swept the country. Media already started writing obituary of Khans
- Film might have had a different concept but jodi was stale, Juhi's career graph was already going down.
- Media, news channel rivalry etc had not been relatable concept to all because media and satellite TV boom were yet to happen.
- I think marketing also went wrong. People thought it might be a romantic, light hearted, usual SRK-Juhi film looking at songs and promos but it turned out to be a serious subject.

I love SRK-Juhi too and find them much better than SRK-Kajol.

The songs were great.. But I didn't watch the movie.. I haven't seen it..

Is it true SRK took this story to KJO and Adi before Aziz Mirza agreed to direct it ???
