If he doesnt experiment he will be like the 1001 actors in Bollywood past and present.

His barfi worked, Wake Up Sid worked, At least when someone goes to see a Ranbir kapoor film they know its not the same kind of movie one is always seeing.

I think he should be applauded for choosing the unbeaten path and unconventional roles. It speaks of inner confidence, courage and a love of the craft of acting...he is NOT in the business to make money at any cost..or to become insanely popular.

After all he is the scion of a generation of five generations of actors/directors...and probably the most talented amongst them.

Other than his film BV, none of his films were risky. YJHD and Tamasha were both commerical films and so was Besharam. It's not that experimenting is hurting his career..I think the audience are losing interest in him and maybe they don't trust his film choices after the disaster BV and Besharam. Karan's film might do the tick for him. He needs to reinvent himself though. I didn't like him at all in YJHD..Deepika stole the show. It seemed like he was playing himself in Besharam. And he looks bored in Tamasha and BV. Seems like his recent failures is making him unconfident and lost.
