I am married to a man who is bald'

Naturally Pooja Bhatt can't understand why hair is such an issue. She makes Himesh Reshammiya shed his trademark topi in her next. (He has had no choice but to agree)

It was nothing to do with superstition. The real reason why Himesh Reshammiya has never been seen without a cap is because he was balding. However, now Himesh will be seen without a cap in Pooja Bhatt's next film (untitled), which is being written by Shagufta Rafique (who wrote Woh Lamhe, Awarapan, Dhokha).

Himesh Reshammiya
The cap made its first appearance in the Aashiq Banaya video and hasn't left Himesh's head since. But the hard taskmaster Pooja has decided that it's time that Himesh goes without his trademark topi.

Himesh has agreed to toe the line. Says a source, "It is known that Himesh has undergone a hair transplant. So, it's really not an issue with the musician-turned-actor to be seen without headgear."

Not so long ago, Himesh had admitted on Koffee with Karan that he chose to wear a cap as he was losing hair. "Now that the hair transplant has been done, the necessity to wear a cap is ending," he had told Karan Johar.

When contacted, Pooja, who starts this film in January, confirmed that Himesh will be minus cap in her upcoming film. Apparently she doesn't care whether he is bald or has clumps of hair.

Pooja says, "He will have three looks in the film. He will don the cap in few portions. We can't take away from what his image is, but at the same time, we can't stop giving something new to the public. The script demands that he does not wear a cap and he will do that - no base ball cap, no skull cap, nothing to cover his head whatsoever."

"I don't know why hair is such an issue in this world. I am married to a man (Munish Makhija) who is bald," she adds jokingly.

Pooja Bhatt
Mahesh Bhatt says that Pooja's film will be a Rs 30-crore project and shot in three continents. "The film is inspired by a true incident. It is the story of a lawyer from India in pre-independence days. He met a girl in Morocco whom he fell in love with at first sight. But she disappears. He tracks her down in Hiramandi red light area in Pakistan."

Mahesh adds, "That same man (lawyer) constructed Lal Haveli where the Information & Broadcasting Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed stays. Rashid told me this story. It stayed with me and we decided it to put it on celluloid."
