@Prtzy I m getting what u r trying to say bt d only way Srivastavs can b happy is Riya completely keeps a blind eye to dere actions n doesn't speak up...even when Riya gives an advice however rational dat is, she is expected to b quite...when Riya tells Shivam something he makes an issue widout knowing d thing within d family n riya is ridiculed for spreading bad air abt d family members n when she doesnt n tackles d situation herself(n she had every reason wid proof) den again she is blamed n d worst thing is she is blamed more for speaking up dan d party who actually is wrong...I feel d family y is misogynist..if Shivam does d drama dat is fine bt if riya does she is breaking d family..Dere logic makes no sense at all what de need is simply a reason to put d blame on her head since she speaks not dat her words offend though...riya agreed to adjust bt she is a human n de can't push her to an infinite limit

there are things you understand ONLY after you go thru' it. I have been!
At a point where u worked hard to save the family, your own husband points at you and says you broke the family and instead of understanding & thanking you, blames you. Would you be utterly sad that the man for whom you did so much, does not respect you OR would you be all lovey-dovey-chatty with his sisters?????

Try, how you feel and what you do in a situation when the person you love the most ill-treats you and does not understand you.

Even before Riya came into this zoo, the family was more than messed up. The men were mummy ke chamche, the house was ruled by an evil creature and her equally evil daughter who lived off Cowsalya's tiffins. The grand daughters hardly had any say and were stompted if they dare open their mouths.

Some people remember that Shivam had warned Riya about his dysfunctional family but did they forget Riya's answer, which was that for Shivam's love and support from him, she will adjust. Has Shivam really been there for her? Has he even noticed Shashikala making his wife slog with household duties before going to work rather than having Nimmi do that stuff since she is at home? Did Shivam try to find out who was instigating the misunderstandings between mommy dearest and his wife before insulting and blaming Riya for everything. The answer is no so let's not even expect anything from Riya. I'd love to see her leave the house for good and not before having Ammaji a darshan of jail yatra on the charge of bahu abuse. This family needs a DIL like Sarla who will eat Amma alive for breakfast

Nimmi and occasionally Preeti were extremely rude to Riya when they both knew that Riya had no clue of what happened in the house.

And suddenly them come out and tell Riya that they wanted to tell her all along, and Riya should immediately forgive them?
They KNEW Riya had no idea, yet they still treated her terribly. They KNOW Riya is not from a joint family nor like her mother, but they still treated her terribly.

She tries to adjust - she is bad. She doesn't adjust - she is bad. Nimmi and Preeti telling her this does not negate what they did to her. And Riya does not need to accept, forgive, or treat them with respect after the hell that that family put her through.

Wait till Preeti's secret rendevous creates another round of drama. It may be Riya who would step in and take her side to ensure she marries RJ Mohit. That guy went with another immature idiotic way he has gone about wooing Preeti in a strange way😕, knowing fully well that she hails from a crazy family that loves several doses of drama a day.😆

one week back, i wudve agreed with you, cause honestly Riya's faults were in full view, atleast to me.
But after she started using her brain n the way she got Sarla's truth out...she is coming back to what she was before marriage, n its good.

yes, i still dont think that she has unconditional love for shivam...but then nowadays even shivam has gone from bad to worse. so its ok.

Riya has lots of fault, no doubt, but i liked what she did to save the house n bought the truth in-front of everyone.

What a shame, we have this regressive nonsense on TV from 5 days/wk to 6 days/wk to now 7days/wk. A woman who is hell bent on destroying her own family (both Shanti and Sarla) have been glorified in this serial. And to top it, these females get away with their crimes. I would love to find out exactly the story behind the person (writer, producer) who approves this nonsense and wonder what their household is like. Where are they getting such absurd plots from and how are they justifying it on TV?

These absurd plots must have a kernel of reality they have seen or have been part of in their lives. As hard as it is, the reality is that there is a breed of women who are drama queen every waking moment of their lives that they don't care what the cost, who pays the price or how much is on the line for other family members...to them not having things be their way is life threatening. The need to control and wield power over the family is their way of ensuring they matter and they are given the attention they demand. Anyone who refuses or fails to tow the line is terrorized with theatrics so unsettling they just give in much like Cowsalya does. Deep down these people are terrified of loneliness and being ignored in their old age. Shanti is training Sarla to do it better than she does and that's a scary situation. Pari is taking it upon herself to build up from the basics values her grandmother and mother instilled in her. With each coming generation the women are losing their moral ground without batting an eyelid.

Shanti demands people fork over their earnings to her. Sarla lies and fleeces as much money as she can from Shanti. Pari lies, cheats, steals without remorse and now she's added tramp to her list of behaviors. The Shanti Devi DNA is crazy and dangerous.😛

the problem is that nowadays all production houses care only for business...and these types of story, where the bahu is tortured, is what sells...

gone are the doordarshan days, when actual creative people used to make shows like Yeh jo hai jindagi, hum log, tamas and buniyaad. These stories were actually based on real life and was so logical.

Do watch these serials, if u like serious stories. No extra romance, no extra tam jham just plain story telling yet very very gripping.

And if u guys like comedy than do watch sarabhai versus sarabhai and kichadi both from the same PH. very good comedy shows both
