...And so the pendulum has started its return swing. And in doing so has white-washed Viplav just that little less black than Dhani had painted him.

His words had incriminated him further to Dhaani that morning, fraying her hold over her temper so that she'd run up to the terrace to confront him. Of course, she hadn't believed his explanation, had broken the Shagun ka pot, and swivelled to stride away, her head high with righteousness. Only to fall unceremoniously right over the terrace wall to grave injury if not certain death.

And she would have hurt much more than her pride but for Viplav's extraordinary act, so completely out of character surely. After all, why would a villain as black as she had painted him put his own life in danger to save hers?

"Hold me tight!" He urged her. "Why?" She challenged him. After all he must have some nefarious purpose in mind.

"Because otherwise you'll fall." Dangling precariously by a fistful of his t-shirt clutched like vice in one hand, even she couldn't deny the logic of that request.

"Don't look down." He told her. And so of course she did, and learnt very quickly that she'd have been better off trusting in him.

It was that returning trust that had her unashamedly clinging to him, burrowing into him, drawing strength and comfort from him for the long moments that Viplav stood between her and death.

Or perhaps that trust had never completely died at all, just been buried under the shovelsful of mud that she had slung at him. And was now rapidly re-emerging in her hour of need. Because he was there for her, at great risk. And she certainly didn't prefer death to the dishonor of his hold or hesitate to trust him with her life.

That one act of heroism wiped some of the blackness off Viplav's image. If after saving her life because of Tripurari's machinations he was not quite the knight in shining armour, then because of Dadi's heartfelt words, neither was he the black-hearted villain.

From the precap it is clear that Viplav will further win back Dhaani's trust by yet again saving her life. And this time the mud will stick on Tripurari.

Will Dhaani realise that Tripurari is the real villain?

Perhaps the more crucial question is: will Viplav's feelings for Dhaani be coloured by her returning his wedding gift, so that it is now his turn to hate her for the pain he is being subject to at her hands? Is it now Viplav's turn to paint her black? Is the pendulum swinging back for Dhaani too?

It seems no matter what they say or do to each other, they are somehow surprised by the strength of their own emotions, even though they are not willing to accept what they really feel. The precap shows that despite the big fight and feeling hurt from Dhani returning his gift, the way Viplov puts out the fire from her burning saree with just his hand and the way Dhani instinctively holds his hand with both her hands, is a fair indication that they can fight and scream all day long, what they feel for each other is not in their control and its a very pure emotion so I hope the shade of Vip's love is still white. 😳

You are right the pendulum will swing the other way. The question is - Will Viplov have the patience to listen to her forgiveness, since I think Dhani has crossed limits of suspecting/hurting/humiliating a person whom she brought so close to her heart? Her instinct (sixth sense) of pure love (safed love) somehow was not strong enough, were she simply turned a BLIND EYE towards Viplov.

I find this as the weakness of the story, since Dhani's character at first was shown as a sensible, matured widow with integrity and intelligence. The present act (sometimes enjoyable), has taken away the basic essence of a widow moving forward in life with new skills, and with a life partner who understands her past and will help her and the widow community to move forward in the present and future - thus the revolution of a constructive change.

@bold: Spot on! That is perfectly true. They live in denial. Yet can't stand the mere thought of their other halves with someone else. Tripurari knows it and now RL seems to have guessed too. When will ViDha admit it to themselves, I wonder

Interesting analysis, Skydome.

@Underline: I think Viplav cares too deeply for Dhani to stay miffed for long. Even now after she's thrown his gift in his face he still turns up at the puja to save her from burning.

Methinks it'll take something really nasty to turn his love into hate - like being blamed for substituting Tripurari at the wedding when he's doing it for her own good. But his patience/love currently is extraordinarily strong. 😊

@The change in Dhani's characterisation - I think this is just the CVs stringing out the MU a little longer and making us wait for the love track, whenever that will happen. 😃 i think Dhaani will still do everything the serial claimed she would, just a little later...

Yes they have killed her sense and objectivity for the moment. Logical, to an extent cos she's in love- but won't admit it and is fighting it. The mistrust and hatred is an extension of that strong emotion clouding her brain.

Raj and Shalu also said it and Dadi knows it! Lets see what twists and turns come up that make them realise and accept what is obvious to most people! 😉

A very nice analysis. thanks

It is hard to image the pendulum turning the other way as far Viplav's feelings go. After having being misunderstood , insulted and admonished even by his own family his motto remains to see Dhaani happy. A man with lesser feelings would have walked away but not Viplav. He forever is her protector and will remain.

Dhaani on the other hand has a longer distance to cover . I too agree that the cvs have conveniently dumbed down her character to suit the story. As the smoke clears she will see the truth and acknowledge her ignorance. She will apologize but there needs to be a bigger impetus for her to be able to acknowledge that it is love . Will she forgive herself ?

I am very curious to see how the story will proceed after the Trip / Dhaani marriage goes kaput !!!

Wow lovely analysis... very well written..!! 😳

To me rescuing Dhani, is Viplav's unintentional reflex,, the reflex not under concious control.. 😳 wenever he see her in danger all her switches off.. there's only 1 thing in his mind to save her..although before falling dhani was humiliating him badly n it seems he won't ever saw her face... 😳 it happened every time in Vips case n that's wat wilhappened toaday wen he will saw his sari burning.. 😳
It wud b really an interesting watch how dhanis emotion transformation will be narrated.. 😆
Great post n do keep writing dear.. 😳
