New Delhi: Singer Kamaal Khan on Friday revealed something which is sure to give a drastic turn to the infamous 2002 hit and run case for which superstar Salman Khan was convicted by a Mumbai session court.
In an exclusive interview to India TV, Kamaal asserted that on September 28, Salman was not on the driver's seat when his car rammed into footpath killing one person and injuring four others.
Over a telephonic conversation, Kamaal rubbished earlier media reports. He said that the media has been running wrong reports all these years.
On many occasions, Salman's lawyers have demanded that Kamaal should be produced in court as an eye witness but it never happened. Kamaal also added that if he is summoned to the court to record his statements he will happily oblige.

According to Salman's lawyer Amit Desai, it was grave injustice that Kamaal who was in the car with the actor was never called in court. Last month Desai had said, "Evidence must be recorded in the court and evidence must be recorded in the presence of accused. There were two eye-witnesses -- Kamaal Khan and Patil -- and in the absence of one, other should have been called."
Apart from the two, Salman's bodyguard, Ravindra Patil was also present in the car. Patil, who died of jaundice in 2007 was the one who recorded a statement saying that drunk' Salman was driving his Toyota Land Cruiser that rammed into American Express Bakery on Hill Road junction in Bandra.
He had also added; "Kamaal Khan may have had more knowledge about the events as Patil accompanied the appellant (Salman) in the car while Kamaal Khan not only accompanied him in the car but also went with him to Rain Bar and Restaurant and JW Marriott Hotel just before the mishap."
Now, that Kamaal has presented the different side of the story, it only seems legitimate that he is called to court soon.
