I am extremely confused as what Nimmi wants from Riya.
If she works in tandem with Sarla and Shanti she gets hate.
If she works against Sarla (and by extension Shanti) she gets hate from Nimmi.
So what in the world does Nimmi want from Riya??

Riya should wring her hands and say "Ammaji...ammaji...!"

Riya should blush whenever she sees her husband .

Riya should stutter & stammer when she's asked to speak.

She should not come up with sensible ideas that Raghav appreciates.

Also, Riya should fail her exams all the time and make secret loans/deals.

In short, Riya should be just like Khushiya and her daughters.

Then, Nimmi, Khushiya, Shivam & preeti will like her.

Now, she's too different and doesn't know

how to live in a large family!😆

Nimmi is a copy of Shanti and Sarla.

Everyone thinks she is positive but she is like her dadi and bua and so will be Riya's enemy. She like her dadi and bua won't let her sister in law get close to her brother in case he gets influenced.

People always forget that children copy the adults around them, gene also plays a part.

Nimmi learned from the best, her personality is set. She thinks she is doing right - but doesn't Shanti and sarla think that as well?🤢

Prtit is like her mum, nervous and panicky and can't make her mind up nor remember what's happened in the past and so everytime looks startled.😡

Shivams, like Raghav blindly thinking mummyji is right🤢

All three know their dadi and bua are wrong but as they had been exposed to these people all their lives, they too have picked up the habits and behaviour until it is part of them.

People right say children mirror their parents and those around them.

Hey Dreamy😃

As the saying goes "Children do as their parents DO not as their parents ASK them to do". Children learn through observation from the moment they arrive in this world. 👍🏼

It's often been said by wise minds that THE QUALITY YOU SEE IN OTHERS IS THE QUALITY IN YOU. So the trait that one criticizes or appreciates in another is the very trait they reject or accept within themselves.

Here Nimmi reads Shanti and Sarla like an open book because she also has that sneaky mind like her dadi and bua. She calls it like it is, she is the next generation version of two sneaky, snarky Srivastav women. 😆 She needs a tough guy to keep her in line or she will run roughshod in his family.

I've heard elders say "Watch out for the quite ones, they are the ones who can surprise you with their actions". Preeti fits that bill. She is all nervous and stuttering before her family but that doesn't stop her from sneaking out of the house to meet Mohit in the middle of the night. This RJ Mohit is a weird guy. If he was an upstanding young man, why can't he approach Raghav or Cowsalya about wanting to marry their daughter? Why play such silly games? What's with getting engaged in the middle of the night on a terrace? Let's see if he has the guts to now approach her family and formally ask for her hand in marriage. Or will he turn out to be someone who tricks a naive and insecure gal and embarass her family?😕

Shivam is living up to the role of the Star Plus's model husband of the protagonist. He appears to be a normal guy until he gets married. After that he falls into the mold of being a silent spectator, who stands around watching his lady take charge and change things around his home. Once in a while he will protest her choices but ultimately he is like a lame duck ...an ornament around the house.🤪

Riya expected a family like hers, she got more than she bargained for...the polar opposite of any family she's met in her life. Since watching her wedding video, she's onto Sarla and she's soon going to figure out that Sarla is the troublemaker. Raghav and Shanti react to Sarla's antics and theatrics. Once she's exposed for all her tricks maybe Riya will get a chance to give the family a wake up call.

Sonal like her Dad tows the line of decency in a family where there rest of them try to outdo each other's pettiness and greed. They will sell each other out for cash.😕

Pari gets as low as she can. She lost her moral compass a long time ago and now is playing two brothers to see which one will give her the keys to the kingdom. The fact that she eloped and forced Sujeev into marrying her based on a lie only reinforces that she lacks decency on every level, much like her mother. She is way overdue for a comeuppance for all her lies, cheating and thefts. She blindly follows anything that shines or sparkles. She's inherited her mother's genes...mother and daughter are in competition to see whose greed will outshine the other.🤔

Amit has the IQ of a snail. He uses everyone including his parents to feed his gambling addiction. He lost Riya to Shivam.👏 He is looking for a meal ticket and encourages his mother to siphon as much money as she can from her mother, Shanti, the Srivastav family ATM machine.

Laziness has its limits and he exceeds the acceptable limit by a mile. 😆He may hate Rani's guts but she's the perfect gal to bring her Aji Oji 😆 on track in the long run. Sarla has been blessed with the perfect bahu😆 who can stand up to her😛. No wonder Sarla gets ticked off every time Rani speaks or does something that could expose her plans.😆

Sarla engages two useless guys off the street, threatens, bullies and uses them to enact her plans. In just a day she went from grahasti to sanyasi and is back to grihasti again. She is wild in her ways and always plotting her next chance to loot her own brother and his family of all their possessions. She's as despicable as they get, even Shanti shows a glimmer of decency once in a while. Even Shanti will one day have enough of her daughter's tricks and cut her ties if it means she stays in the good books of her son Raghav.

Hi Merarai, totally agree with the above! With each generation, these daughters have gotten worse. I would pick Shanti over Sarla any day. Similarly, Pari is even worse! Atleast Sarla is not characterless, Pari has no character whatsoever!

And yes, Shanti will wash her hands off Sarla (or atleast pretend to) if that is the only way she can remain in Raghva's good books.

Nimmi definitely wants a carbon copy of her mom. And it is truly bringing down her character.

You are absolutely right. Its the subtle not so subtle nuances in Nimmi that do reflect her upbringing from Shanti and Sarla.

It is just shocking to see a character who so desperately wants her family to get out of the 60s mindset, and day to day drama to not offer any help to to help levitate the situation. But when someone takes a stand against, it suddenly isn't good enough for her?

I was so upset when Nimmi did not even thank you, or even look happy when Riya took Preeti's side. Preeti didn't even show that much appreciation to her either 🤢

👏👏 That was extremely well articulated! I couldn't of said it better myself.

Mohit is so confusing. The fact that he doesn't approach her family makes him seem sketchy.

And you are so right that Shivam is the typical husband. Promises the world to his to be wife, but once she is his wife, the only thing that matters the most is his family (which conveniently doesn't include her). And its up for Riya to fight for her family, for a place to fit in. Its just mind boggling to me.
