Katrina Kaif's dream to play the leading lady in Mohit Suri's adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's book Half Girlfriend has been shattered.
Due to several issues, primarily the fact that Katrina was looking older to the film's hero Sushant Singh in the look-tests that were conducted, Ranbir Kapoor's girlfriend's name has been struck off.
The role, which is that of a high-society girl from Delhi, will now be essayed by Kriti Sanon. The actress made her debut opposite Tiger Shroff in Heropanti and promptly bagged Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale opposite current heartthrob Varun Dhawan.
A source told us, "Kriti has come up very well. She is young, vibrant, beautiful and most of all, confident. She will shine in this role."
Half Girlfriend, expected to go on floors early next year, will be jointly produced by Ekta Kapoor and Chetan Bhagat.
