Despite what everyone is saying I think Ranas character is very close to that of a son or a grandson at this point. More often then not sons are close to their mothers and grandmothers and I for one have seen that when they are to choose between a wife and a mother figure they are more inclined towards the mother.. simply because she is a figure of trust, love, innocence, respect especially a grandmother that bond always comes through always. it is something they cant and wont shrug off ever and it is for the wife to understand that part of her husband. its a natural thing as for todays episode it just shows the predicament of a man and two of his most important relationships.
The slap after all played no significance at-least for me anyway ...it was in the heat of the moment and Gayatri seemed to not think twice about it either don't really know what to label it. Love, respect, devotion.. maybe a mix of those that makes it insignificant.

I think BRM emotionally manipulated him since young and planted in his mind, she loves him more than RM.

Plus, he is convinced his wife has gone nuts, there's no way he's going to believe her over hisloving old Gran.

Haven't watched for sometime but based on the updates and to your point...even if he favours his grandmother more than his wife, would does slapping his wife achieve?

If he believes she has gone nuts, where is his concern and patience? He loves her, would slapping her make her change???

He was caring towards her.Only when he was convinced that she was threat to others & might harm herself he locked her up.

Slapping was so not required man. they just did it for the sake of drama and promoted it.
I hope they show him repenting.

Yes a Mother and grandmother are trusted figures from your life. It is most likely that they will be believed over a wife who came into your life a few months back. Trust me, most guys cant hear anything wrong about their Mother. Even if she deserves it, and he knows it too. (Speaking from experience). Lol. My husband is a pretty level headed guy, but still when it comes to Mum, they all revert to type! Dont get me wrong, my MIL is a very nice lady, but everyone has their faults! :)

I also agree with Simran that BRM always emotionally manipulated Indravardhan so that she can always be in his good books and it has worked too! He was always close to her and never thought she was using the very fact to stab him in the back. BRM had an excellent strategy, but unfortunately for her now Ranaji is married to Gayatri and she wont give up that easily!

So, he does care but in this serial they tend to make RNJ look like he does things without due diligence...before he hears her out, he slaps her and in yesterday's portion, he allows electrical shock to be administered...

To his point, if not he needs to believe that his grandmother is his enemy, makes sense but then, where is the part where he checks all aspects before allowing the electrical shock administration...The CVs are butchering RNJ's character...

I too agree and I would say, I would expect my son, to give me his trust too...after all mothers and grandmothers are the foundation from where the guy's get their character...

I can't blame RNJ's point in this, it's just that, he should have investigated...I feel the CVs are rushing all the scenes. Not allowing time to build the story...
