You don't get it, people aren't laughing at the message, they're laughing at the person giving the message. You want to teach people to be a better person?, how about you be a better person yourself first and then talk, otherwise no-one is gonna take you seriously. "Be the change you want to see", is what Gandhi said, that's not gonna happen by playing fictional characters, but by setting real life examples. You can't improve society's wrongs and injustices if you are an active and willing abuser of it yourself.

As for other actors, they aren't going around claiming, "I want to make the audience better", they're actors, they're job is to play characters, not to dupe people into believing you're some "messiah".
