The past intruding...has shaken him up...his mission..his false identity...not jeopardizing it...and tbe mission...and with it..the worry of not knowing anything at all about the Real Ishaan Hooda...the past of a person he's claiming to be...

Thus it was easier for him to reassure Preet as being Kavya's mother always... but He just couldn't do the same in reassuring her being his wife...as its the conflict he's facing about his identity...
