Not for Bollywood films they don't because the views only go into a few dozen millions.
Once they start going into hundreds of millions, they get more coverage and money off YT/Ad companies.

A good example of how YouTube videos helped a film at the BO is Aashiqui 2. The very first teaser of Aashiqui 2 was a cut of Tum Hi Ho, and was a rage everywhere That's how it got all those initial numbers at the BO, because the release was pulled forward by 3 weeks and they only did promotions for a week which was just a concert in one city and interviews.

I'm so amused when fans boast about how many views a trailer got and I'm like random cats on youtube get millions of views so what's your point. Why movies like HS3 get so many views is pretty obvious 😆

Trailer views depends a lot on the stars, buzz generated before release etc..hard to say what percentage of people will make that trip to the theaters.

song promos do indicate popularity..which helps a film to get buzz.

Pinga just crossed 1 million..It is satisfying..cause Deewani Mastani needed more than 48 hours to do it.

it defitely is a good thing to get a lot of views on YT

No youtube views don't Mean much, take shandaar as an example, it has so many million views for the songs and trailer yet the movie didn't do well
So youtube views aren't a way to predict whether a movie will be a successful or not

YouTube is a massive platform! People do make a hell lotta money out of youtube views . Why do you think the advertisers put up those ads before the video starts? In case of movies, especially in bollywood , YouTube views might not necessarily translate into big numbers but they do hold a lot of importance in determining the buzz.
As for Hate Story 3, eroticas never really "flop" at the box office. People always crave to watch sex on screens.
So it has a good chance of recovering its costs, if not more.

The trailers of HS3 look cringeworthy so far though
