So i have been hearing a lot about how PRDP under-performed due to SRK fan groups spreading bad WOM and yada yada. In response some bhai fans are now claiming that they will "take down" and make Dilwale underperform. 😆

So do you think it is possible for a fan group to take down a movie or are these trolling vele fans delusional? 😉

To some extent YES, not fully, but yes, it definitely DENTS some % of film's collection. Earlier in SINGLE SCREEN Days, no Whatsapp or Facebook, ppl use 2 go to cinema hall & then come back with view, BAD WOM took weeks 2 transfer into low collection.

Nowadays, a 10 am show, by 11 you will have all kind of BAD WOM Msgs spreading like fire on Whatsapp / Facebook, now this ain't that much impact, but it does makes difference in today's time when ppl think twice before going to a multiplex where a group of 4 ppl can cost upto 1000-1200 bucks for that same film.

This i m talking about Big Stars films, hardly 2-3%, may be less may be more. BUT BUT BUT

if u see films like TALVAR / QUEEN / LUNCHBOX, same thing could hamper so big that films like MASAAN / MANJHI couldn't even match the success of above 3 films while they were on same level.

So For Art Centric film, if deliberately u spread BAD WOM, it affects huge, for big stars, it doesn't impact much.

Lmao!

Whoever came up with such such bull theory is an idiot!

If fan groups could harm a film's collections, there wouldn't have been any ATBB or BB for any Khans!

Amir is hated by both SRK n Sslman fan groups! Why his films don't underperform!

Lol no. Half of the people I know that watch BW movies in theatres aren't on any social media sites, and if they are they don't know that BW is even discussed so heavily on the net. 😆

It depends on movies merit

To some extent yes, but that would be a very small percentage.
There are many neutral and undecided folks (actually majority of them are that way) who make up their mind only based on WOM. So yes, only a very small dent though.

Nope. I have heard it too and its a ridiculous notion.
If you make crap that makes people question their sanity afterwards then they can't be blamed. Of course they are going to trash it.

Bad WOM is there only if the movie is bad. Make a decent movie first, will you?

But during single screen days, there were not these many screens either. So a show needed to run for a long time to get hit. Typically fivtey or hundred days. Hundred days means 1/3rd of a year. Obviously it had to compete with several films which would have released in its running course. Even if WOM takes 2 weeks to spread, compared to the duration it needed to run, it was a short span.
Currently big budgeted films (superstars) try to get as many screens as possible. I think, more than fan power, this muscle power makes a difference. (Grab as much as you can in first few days).

For small budget movies, more than the WOM, visibility is a problem. They can't spend too much on promotions.

No, failure of PRDP has nothing to do with SRK fans and if Dilwale also failed to do magic on BO then Sallu fan wont be responsible for that.
