Lol, God no. Fangroups aren't even a small percentage of the movie-going audience. A films success or failure is based on it's merit, let's not blame the audience.

If ppl who hate a star are unreasonably dissing it, there are fans who overpraise it too..It works both ways and almost every single star has an equal number of fans and haters..A good film will do well either ways.

The opposing fangroup cannot bring down a star. But sometimes the star's own fangroup can do so. I have seen it happen in Tollywood. NTR Jr's fans ensured his films flopped when he fell out with his uncle Balakrishna.

Ofcourse in Tollywood many fangroups are organized on caste lines and is more potent.
