Bollywood film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' starring Salman Khan has left Shah Rukh Khan starrer film Happy New Year'behind in the race. Both the films released on the occasion of Diwali, Happy New Year in 2014 and PRDP this year. And thus naturally comparisons have already begun since it stars two of the biggest actors Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. And it looks like Salman has won on first day!

SRK starrer film had created a huge record by becoming the highest grossing film on its opening day. According to reportsHappy New Year' had collected around Rs. 37 crores net approx on its first day at the box office. In its first week itself, within a span of three days the film grossed above 100 crores joining the 100 crore club.

Prem Ratan Dhan Pay'o starring Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor in the lead roles has also gained massive response from audience owing to the major holiday factor. The film is enjoying the best opening day ever with an average collection of 70-75% throughout the country. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' is being screened across 4200 screens in India, and each of them is expected to rake in similar amount of collection. The film has collected around Rs. 39 crores next approx in its Hindi version.

Opening day collections of films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan' andPK' was around Rs. 38.50 crores net approx which meansPRDP has left the films behind by a very close margin. Its collections was expected to be 15% better than Happy New Year' and it has surpassed the first day collections of Shah Rukh Khan starrer film by Rs. 2 crores net approx. After such a huge opening, the main performance of the film will depend on once the Diwali heat dies down. Will Salman Khan's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo shatter all records set by Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year'? We will know that soon enough.
