An irreverent observation.

The use of the mask for political intrigue brings out a curious situation. Once the masked Sulakshana / Jhmuki is revealed, won't they always doubt if the other is the real person or a masked one?

The solution. Yet more agniparikshas. Go through one to prove that you are the real one before proceeding further. So, every one carries a lighted candle or a diya, holds it close to the other to ascertain whether the other one is real before engaging further with that person.
