Chamber of Secrets

Year 2014 - TRAPPED "Where am I?" The traveller wondered. "Don't panic Omni.. You can figure a way out.. BUT it's all so stygian in here. The air feels stench and tasteless" The young male searched for his emergency Flash light. Once the unknown territory illuminated he realised where he was trapped. He searched for a permanent light source and came across a lever. He rotated it with both hands whilst clasping the torch between clenched teeth. There was a sudden jolt of flash from the light box on the ceiling, it faded and after a dozen flickers and zapping sounds it stabilised. After an endless time spent searching for a way out and collecting samples for evaluation he stumbled across some sheets of old paper. It had been written in red ink.. No it was actually penned in BLOOD. The over light went out. The young traveller pulled out his fash light again very mindful of the fact that he cannot grant the batteries to run out. BUT this was important.. This piece of paper must obtain some paramount information maybe even the key to getting out. He rested his backpack against the wall and leaned himself comfortably against it.. well as comfortable as he could manage himself on the hard cold ground. With a deep sigh his eyes tried to focus on the crooked faded small writing and he began to embark on the journey of the writer.

An Eternity ago, In Timbaktu a lonesome young female was perched outside what seemed an isolated but well kept mansion. She repeatedly heard her parrot almost echo the same stab line "I don't trust you, I'm leaving!". The Utterance may be aired by the furry soft green African bird Ritzy but the pronouncement had come from someone close to her heart. Farah wept silently as the fresh tears stained on her beautiful hair.

She knew she'd overused all her second chances... and now her beloved had made sure a million air flight miles have been put between them. BUT she wasn't going to concede another day festering behind decaying memories any longer.

She raised herself and lifted off to where destiny had planned. NO MORE repining over a cryptogram or goose chasing after a cliff-hanger. This was the correct interval to make her juncture.

The flight was stretchy and tiresome - BUT getting away had been paramount for she couldn't remain a day longer in the same habitat without her soul mate, her love, her half being. Another full tear discharged from her bereaved eye as the flight reached its designated touch point.

Getting freshened up seemed as exacting task and she gave herself a quick despairing look - only to see a heartsick reflection staring back. She could almost count the rings under her forlorn eyes since her significant others acute desertion. The solid pangs of deceit thumped in her bosom again draining almost every last droplet of her fading energy.

Farah placed herself carefully on the bar stool - and waited patiently. The bar manager kept glancing over drinking in her beauty. Farah played ignorant to the unwanted attention and surveillance. Suddenly something gave her shoulders a feathery touch sending a burst of tingles inside her small frame. He took an uninvited reservation on the stool next to hers. "How do you do?" Said the stranger in a Husky voice with an accent. She couldn't place his accent it sounded too tropical for definition. In the dusk light seeping through the window shone through his dark jet black hair. "I'm fine Thank you" came a voice which didn't belong to Farah but sounded behind the handsome male. The owner emerged - a beautiful young female, she has astonishingly beautiful hair, it's colour was so unique. "I'm Ashra and this young gentleman is my fianc Abdul. A bit of a charmer for young females and considers himself as a bit of a Sidharth Malhotra". She smiled at Farah whilst placing a gentle yet firm grip on Abdul. Farah realised she was bordering on a domestic situation here and tredded carefully. "Hi I'm Farah, You must be kidding me - Sidharth Malhotra? Noways.. your fianc is no ways as bonny as Sid - I would consider him more a Salman Khan". She said hoping to break any jealous ice Ashra might have emotionally built. "Urgh, please no Salman and no Sid - I like to consider myself as Abdul only". He wrapped himself around Ashra and the pair of them excused themselves away.

The bar attendant glanced over again at Farah and built the courage to ask for her order and whilst filing up her pint he built courage to start a conversation. "Are you new here, I've never seen such a beautiful face in here for a while.. well at least one that is single". He said at the same time glancing a shy look towards Ashra. "Yes I'm visiting for a while.. needed to get out of town - You know the jist". She replied back comfortably. "Oh I see - So you won't be staying permanently?" He seemed disappointed. "No" Was the come back to that question.

The duo continued to talk through till the late hours and arranged to meet again. Walter promised to take her sight viewing. Farah enjoyed Walters company.. she regained her smile, she started blossoming and blooming once again. The old pain was wiped away - A new beginning had started. BUT she knew she had to go back to Timbaktu, she had people there who were waiting for her.

"I have to leave Walter". A crestfallen Farah said.

"I know you forenamed this before - BUT Don't go Farah, remain here with me. My job will support us both and soon as I've finished education I'll become something". Walter tried hard to convince her.

"I can't Walter, BUT you can come with me.. where I come from you will need for nothing - it is all provided for. I promise you, scouts honour. And we'll be together all day everyday. Please say yes.." She gave him a peck to demonstrate she was serious about this.

How could Walter refuse the easy life - that too if it meant being with Farah, he gave into her desperate cries and said a farewell to his habitat. Together they took the long flight back to Timbaktu. And when they finally Farah showed him to their room. She noticed all the belongings of her ex lover had vanished. Cari had taken care of that. Good ol Cari. "So you're back Farah - of I see you have found a new partner.. well good for you. You're looking much better. I should Thank this young gent for that I guess. Please make yourself at home, I suppose this is your home now. Farah you better take care of this one.. I don't know what you did to the last one with your psychopana. Disappeared into thin air". Cari said leaving the room again. Farah didn't know what to say. She felt sheepish in front of Walter. She invited him to sit next to her in the love nest. Cuddled up together they both looked at the mirror door in front of them. They saw their reflection - they looked perfect together.

On the other end of the mirror wall - Through the one way mirror a pair of eyes starred at them. Disbelief filled the eyes and blurred it's vision with fresh painful tears. Reality began to sink in and betrayal stabbed in the heart repeatedly. Nauseas and an almost dizzy spell caused by the adrenaline rush washed over. She sank down wrapping herself, as she only had herself to console her. Whilst she was trapped alone in this grisly and ghastly tomb of doom the love of her life brought home a new love. Instead of searching for her - she had gone out and searched a new interest. "How could you Farah - I know I was never going to lay a egg in this relationship.. but I didn't deserve this". Kathy cried hard.. but no one could hear her cries in this sound proof chamber built to protect the house during the World War. Kathy could hear everything through the loud speakers inside the chamber but was unheard herself. She could see out of it yet she was unseen herself. She couldn't hurt anyone but Farah's betrayal murdered her.

What she saw next killed her soul.. It was 8.30 pm and she could hear an excited Farah telling Walter Madhubala was about to start. This was Ultimate betrayal.. this was sacred to them.. how could Farah bring a third being into this. She heard the sounds of their laughter as they made fun of Vivian's dance moves and Drashti's expressions.. and the way Walter would wrap himself around Farah whenever she bent over with laughter... This was too much to take in. She watched on, The horror of betrayal with desperate bulging eyes and slid down the one way mirror doors. She cried bitterly and her anguished screams teared throught the night but could only rip at her own ears. The sound proof room protected everyone through the sound proof chamber from the innocent victim of betrayal.

She lay on the cold ground exhausted - she was stripped off everything. Remembering how it all started and how it all ended here... Kathy and Farah had been happily spending the afternoon in each other's company. Cuddled up together sharing the treats from the secret treasure chest. Lots of hugs and pecks were exchanged that glorious afternoon. Then the door opened and - It changed everything forever. Cari walked in with evil behind her. She stepped in. Farah and I froze as we stared at the stranger and the stranger stared at us. "Girls - This is The Boss. Call him Bossy, He'll be staying with us too". She left after the brief introduction and I swear he snarled at us. My heart already sank with a unknown horrid feeling. I clasped onto Farah. Bossy followed Cari out of the room again.

Boss was weird he had a tendency of playing with mice. Cari was unaware of this. I often saw him bring mice into the house sneakily. That awful day I recall correctly. Cari had been cleaning room and dusting through our belongings. All the doors were open and so was the door to the secret chamber. Just then a crazy excited voice called out for Cari... and Cari removed her apron and left to meet the visitor. It was Shelly. "Hiii Cariii, really needed a favour pretty please. I'm going away for a while with the boys on a Christmas trip.." Cari cut her short "you mean Easter break - right?". "Oh yes that's what I meant Easter break and I needed someone to look after my Ritzy". She held a bird cage up that homed a green parrot. Cari couldn't say no and accepted the little bird to take refuge in the mansion. As Cari was busy getting Ritzy settled in the lounge, Boss krept into our room. "Go away Boss". Farah had instructed. BUT Boss moved more swiftly and quietly in - He was groping a mouse. I panicked and flew to save my life, I went all over the house.. and Boss gestured for me to stop. BUT I told him "I don't trust you, I'm leaving" and ran into the chamber. Boss took this perfect opportunity to lock me in.

I was trapped. Farah didn't realise what had happened for she had flown out into the garden to avoid Boss. Cari had been busy in the kitchen and the only other last being to have heard my cries was Ritzy the parrot. I flew from wall to wall until my wings gave way. My head felt heavy with panic and my heart felt it had flown a marathon. I finally crashed against the door - as no matter how much I pecked at it with my beak I couldn't be heard. Every day since, I watched Farah sit on the perch in our love nest and weep tears of sorrow until she left one day to find Walter. I now watch Walter and Farah sneak treats out of the secret chest, They shared a squiggly juicy worm beak to beak whilst I lay here day in and day out thirsty and without a seed to eat.

*Bang* *Crash* *Thud* "What was that?!" I rubbed my eyes with my wings and made my way to the door so that I could peer into the room. OMG *Boss was hanging off Farah's cage and the door was open. Farah was climbing up - she was scared and Walter wasn't there .. and Boss was trying to reach into grab her. "Leave my Farah alone! You crazy cat! Get away from her!". I screamed.

Yes - just then Cari walked in .. "Bossy - why you naughty naughty cat. Leave little Farah alone !" On seeing Cari - My Farah's eyes lit up and she escaped her cage to fly over to Cari - BUT .. BUT Boss was too quick! He jumped up on the foot stool and caught Farah in her mid-flight. In one gulp she was down. Bossy had destroyed me. First he separated us.. which led to Farah betraying our love and now he had swallowed the only thing I was living for. My days are numbered.. I have no desire.. no strength and definitely no fight left in me. BUT this world will know about the little orange who was trapped and forgotten about in this secret chamber. I will use my feather and blood... to pen my story.

Cari stood over the still bird with a pitiful look in her eyes but a a digusted frown on her lips. She couldn't allow herself to remove the beautiful orange bird who pretty much looked a decaying brown. She called in the soldier of doom "Bossy hey Bossy Bossy Are U hungry? Just then his flappy ears in one swift moment lifted hard to cross reference the words of his owner.

Cari left leaving Boss to ponder over whether he wanted to down the little orange aswell. She walked down to the lounge and screamed. How could she have been so stupid. She left Ritzy's cage open with Boss hanging around. "Oh Boss you silly silly cat!" She cried exhausted and placed a worried trembling hand over her forehead. "What am I going to tell Shelly? Just What Am I going to do?

"Problem?" She looked up and drew in with wide eyes his handsome posture lazily leaning against the pane of the door frame. Black trousers and jacket he looked so sexy with his white shirt tucked in only loosely and his black tie adding accent by hanging loosely round his neck. He played with the cigar in his mouth which was hanging lazily of his lips and his eyes smiled down at her.

Nothing ever seemed troublesome once she looked into his smiley eyes and she always lost herself behind his handsome features. No more did defunct birds or pernicious cats matter. "Oh come on Honey" He said breaking into the silence "Don't worry so much - Shelly will never know the difference if we go and get her another green parrot.. we'll just teach it a few lines like Does my butt look big in this', OMG' and Confetti' Job done". He said with a pleased look and a twinkle in his eye.

Cari walked over to him "You're absolutely right Akshay - What did I do to become worthy of you? You make it all seem like a picnic". She said staring into his brown eyes. "We better go and find a green echo bird.. as long as you promise in this house no more.." He stopped midway as she placed her index finger teasingly on his lips so she could finish off what he started "No more Birds". She whispered. Smiling he placed his arm around her shoulders as they both turned together under the threshold to make their way outdoors and repeated in harmony "No more BIRDS".

As the young man reached the final destination of the story he felt an unwelcome emptiness within, He felt it was incomplete.. Overwhelmed by the sadness his eye let the resistant tear fall to pay a tribute to the lonely soul who was once a sanguine being who just faded to nothingness in this very chamber.

There were noises outside and plenty of boots were crunching the ground out of sync. His team were here he was positive. He slid himself up and scanned out of the one way mirror. Rescue at last. Feeling faint and exhausted he felt nauseas and he blanked out.

The next few weeks for Omni had been a blur. He only remembered vaguely rubber stamping his autographs on books and appearing in articles and attending TV interviews. The story written by the little orange bird had become world famous and the as the founder he was accredited. Before the rookie had started out his career he had already made enough money in his second expedition enough to retire and live off the interest of his gifted sudden wealth. Although deep inside he felt he was cashing in on little orange's misfortune as though he had broken a unspoken copyright law. He had to fix this - at least for his own peace of mind.

He disappeared for the rest of the afternoon and came back with big packages covered up with paper bags with holes. He set up his shopping in the lounge. He neatly hung the bird cage near the window where it let plenty of sunlight sweep in. Then gingerly he placed his hands inside the show box and picked up two small unfledged canaries. He placed the Orange one in first - he noticed her fur was sticking up and she seemed cheerful and full of life. A little hesitant bit very alert - She was a real punk. "In you go little Orange - Enjoy your new home Kathy". He said as he placed her on a small perch. He turned his attention to the other small bird in his palms.. She looked stubborn - but her eyes blinked adorably as they adjusted to the ambiance of the new light and he placed her carefully on the second perch. "There you go little Brownie - Enjoy your new home Farah". He said giving her an assuring smile although he was uncertain if birds knew what a smile meant. He almost felt that the story was almost complete and he wanted the legend of Farah and Kathy to live on. This was his tribute to their true love for each other, and to ease his guilt over the sudden wealth he came into by selling little orange's story. One last job left .. He reached for the cover which hid another cage. Giving another glance over at the bird cage to make sure it was securely fastened. He then opened the cage he was handling and pulled out a small white kitten. He now felt the story had completed.. "Welcome to your new home... Walter". He grinned at the cat and settled him onto his lap as Little Walter White purred in his owners lap. Omni wanted the legend of Kathy and Farah to live on

- but not the tragedy. He was assertive that two birds and a cat can have a happy ever after.
