It's a warm sunny day and the sunrays were peeking into their room through their window. A girl in her mid - twenties opened her eyes and a small smile played on her lips. Her husband was sleeping on her bosom peacefully.
Taani POV
I love him.
Call me mad but
I love him so much.
I agree to the fact that he doesn't like me at all, as he was married to me by force but I love him.
Though he treats me like nobody and just a material to ooze his frustration out, still I love him.
He always comes home drunk, he couldn't forget the betrayal he faced from his girlfriend which makes him drink more, but still I love him.
When he comes home drunk, the look which he gives me like a small puppy to remove his shoes and his shirt, as he has a habit of breaking the buttons when he remove his shirt. But that one look he gives me is more than enough for me. I can give anything for him for that, though that is momentary and is not permanent, at least he saw me with those chocolate brown orbs into my eyes.
He stirred in his sleep holding me closer to himself and nuzzling his face into my chest, I am sure my face flushed up.
But once he wakes up, everything will change, a lone tear escaped my eye.
I never understood why, but I always end up falling for him more and more.
He woke up; as usual he jumped off the bed and rushed into the wash for his shower. I sat on my bed and smiled at the little moment which happened before.
I love him.
Rey POV
Why?
Why I keep losing my control?
I don't like her, then why do I tend to hold her tight and sleep?
Why do I feel so peaceful when I sleep with her?
I am just tolerating her because of my mom
Then why?
May be because of the alcohol effect, otherwise I never intend to even touch her.
I hate her.
But somewhere deep inside his heart, a small feeling of losing her, like he lost one
He shrugged off the feeling and got busy with his daily activities.

He came home highly drunk, in blazing anger, he lost the contract to a rival company, and in addition to that he got insulted in front of everyone as a loser.
He went to his room and looked at taani, he knows what she is to him; but anger doesn't have a reason to lash out.
As usual when he sat on the bed, she bent down and started to take off his shoes and removed his tie. She started to unbutton his shirt when their eyes met. She brought her hand to his face to wipe off the sweat trickling down his face.
But unfortunately, he visualized his ex - girl friend in her place due to the alcohol effect and he pushed her with all his strength away from.
"You are a cheater! Get out!!" he yelled.
She winced in pain holding her right hand, tears trickled down her eyes. He dozed off due feeling high.

He woke up trying to gather her in his arms and cuddle with her, but he dint find anything beneath him. Frustrated he opened his eyes to find his bed empty, a strange void filled his heart and he glanced at his room impatiently. He checked the washroom and he went to the main hall downstairs.
His mother Gayatri and his father Avinash were sitting on the sofa sad and angry,
"Maa, Taani kaha hai?"
He asked unable to hold his anxiousness,
She looked at him with extreme fury in her eyes and got up from her place, she walked towards him and clenched her jaw.
A sharp crisp slap went across his cheek.
"Gayatri!!??" Avinash blurted in shock.
Rey held his cheek shocked, he looked at her
"Maa?" another slap went across his cheek.
Avinash jumped up his seat and held Gayatri
"Gayatri? Kya kar rahi ho?" asked Avinash
"Jo bohot pehle karna chahiye tha Avinash! Isko boliye mere ghar se chala jaye"
"Gayatri! Tumhara dimaag kharab ho gaya kya?"
"Dimaag mera nahi iska kharaab ho gaya! Ye yahi rahega toh meri bahu ko maar bhi dalega!! Mujhe iski shakal nahi dekhna Avinash"
"Gayatri, suno; tum jaake aaraam karo, mai rey se baat karta hu"
She looked at Rey with her tear stricken face and left from there.
Rey was still in shock as what happened, he did not understand anything.

"Dad? What's wrong?" he asked after Gayatri left the place.
"Well, last night around 11:30 Swayam came home. He took Taani to the hospital saying that she broke her wrist. We exactly don't know what happened but her hand was swollen. I came to your room to ask you what happened but you were fast asleep.
She came back early morning at 5 AM.
As both of you are not happy in your relation and this is not the first time you lashed out on her, Gayatri got angry that this is beyond the limits. That is the reason she lashed out on you."
Avinash completed and Rey held his head trying to remember what happened last night. When he pushed her, he fell on her out stretched hand and immediately kneeled down wincing in pain and then he fell asleep.
"Where is Taani?" he asked
"She is sleeping in the guest room"
Rey made his way to the guest bedroom and slowly opened the door finding her sleeping, there was a fracture cast on her right hand and her breathing was even, with mild chest rises.
He felt cute at the sight. He missed her warmth; he slowly slid inside the blanket beside her and circled his arm around her waist below her bandaged hand.

Her eyes fluttered open and looked at the surroundings, she saw Rey was sleeping cozily hugging her around her waist and she saw a weight on her arm. She remembered that her hand broke and she was in the hospital throughout the night.
She looked at his face and her fingertips caressed his cheek, he let out a small sigh and snuggled more towards her making her smile.
"uhmm... Rey?"
He hummed in response; it made him look cuter in his baby like face while sleeping.
"ummm, I need to go to washroom!" she said and he opened his eyes.
He took off his hand from her and she was getting up when rey caught her shoulder and made her stand.
She was going into the wash and Rey asked her whether he needs to help or call someone; taani politely denied.
It was 10 in the morning and Taani came out of the washroom after brushing her teeth. Rey was ready with her breakfast in the room and taani was surprised.
"Rey?" she asked amused?
"Taani, your breakfast is ready! Chalo lets eat!" he said without given any room for argument. Taani sat beside him, he took a chunk of roti with sabzi and put it near her lips. Taani tried to take it in her left hand but rey did not allow, he put it in her mouth and they both were caught in an eye lock.
She was looking cute in her night pyjamas and her hair in a messy bun, her cheek was stuffed with the piece of roti which she was chewing slowly.
He couldn't take off his eyes from the adorable sight in front of him, she took a piece of roti with her left hand and stuffed it with the gravy and fed it to rey.
Meanwhile, Rey's parents entered into the room.
Taani smiled at them and her mother - in - law started the conversation
"How are you feeling beta? Tumhe dard toh nahi ho raha na?"
"nahi maa! Me theek hu!" She said with a smile.
"tumhe kisi cheez ki zarurat padi toh bolo beta! Mujhe yaha kisi se koi bharosa nahi hai."
Hurt crossed his features and taani noticed it.
They left the room and Taani looked at Rey's face where there was lot of pain.
"Taani, kabhi tumhe aisa laga ki I will kill you?" his sudden question shocked her.
"nahi rey! Why will I think like that? Not even in my dreams."
"maa mujhse naraaz hai taani, I know what I did with you was wrong but you always give me a chance. But maa mujhse baat karegi na?"
She places her palm on his, he looks at her with teary eyes.
"Rey, it's okay. Aap bohot ache ho! You situations transformed you but you are very good at heart. I know you!!"
His heart flinched.
"Thank you" he whispered.
She wiped his now rolling tears and gave a small pout.
"I am hungry" she said making him smile.
And their cute breakfast session continued.

That evening taani fell asleep reading a book on the bed, rey took the book and took her in his arms placing her gently on his chest. Taani gave a small smile in her sleep and rey felt some unknown feelings were building for her. She opened her eyes after a small nap and noticed rey was staring at her. She detached herself from him, instantly pain washed over his face. She got up and went to the washroom.
"Taani, bohot sukoon milta hai tumhare saath." He said and closed his eyes. Taani came out of the washroom and sat on the bed, rey looked at her.
"Taani, thodi der ke liye so jao. You will feel better." He told her.
She lay down on the bed and he grabbed her left hand in his. He just looked into her eyes, he was longing to do this. His chin shivered, his lower lip quivered making his eyes glass up.
He held her waist and pulled her closer making her gasp. His gaze was locked with hers, tears building up slowly.
"Aapke saath rehke mujhe bohot acha lagta hai" she whispered lost in his eyes.
"Kaash main yeh pehle samajh paata" he whispered while a lone tear trickled down his face.
She cupped his face and wiped his tears.

3 weeks later
Her cast was removed and her wrist was pretty fine undergoing physiotherapy. After their last session, they drove back home.
She was sitting on their bed and removing her earrings and her other accessories, rey also was busy in his daily routine.
When she had her bath and entered the bedroom, there was a beautiful long gown waiting for her with a note on it.
"Meet me on the terrace at 8 pm."
She smiled at the dress and changed into it. She went upstairs to the terrace and was awestruck at the beautiful sight in front of her.
There was a table for 2 with a rose in a flower vase, she reached the table only to find a chocolate cake with an "I love you" written on it. It was not a too fancy one, it was just a simple date with a few candles, roses and a chocolate cake but by that time she just lost her control. Her eyes glistened up with tears and she started to search for him around. She saw him reading something from a chit of paper and by hearting something.
She approached him and he suddenly saw her and hid the chit and was looking at her with heaps of love in his eyes.
A sob escaped her lips and instantly hugged him clutching his T in her small fists.
He wrapped his arms around her allowing her to sob into his shoulders. He never did that also for his wife. He only remembers torturing her and hurting her as of now. His grip tightened on her as the memories came flashing into his head and his eyes scorched up. He forgot about the date and the arrangement he did for her. He forgot about the speech he was preparing to tell her, that how much he loved her. He only could see a helpless wife who was craving for her husband's love for ages.
After a while, she broke the hug and looked at him when he pulled her back onto his chest. He pulled her lips into his mouth smooching them lovingly, she submitted herself into the kiss and after a much needed break they parted themselves and she nuzzled her face into his neck.
"I love you taani!" he whispered into her ear
"I love you" she murmured slowly.
He lifted her in his arms in bridal style and took her to their bedroom
