Rey entered his house, he frowned when he found his whole family gathered in the hall, his grand mother, subhadra devi was also there and glaring at him.
"Dadi, when you came back from delhi?" Rey asked her, he bend down to take her blessings.
"Hum aaj hi vapas aaye, aur aate hi hume pta chala ki aaj kal aap kaha busy hai." Subhadra dadi taunted him. Rey look at her then at his mother who gave him disappointed look.
"Why are you saying like this, dadi? What happened?" Rey asked her, confused with the behavior of his family.
"Aap uss aurat ke saath kya kar rahe the, Reyaansh? Aur humne suna hai aap uss aurat ke saath, usike ghar mein reh rahe hai? Kis rishte se?" Dadi questioned him with authority and anger in her voice.
"Uska naam taani hai." Rey interrupted her, not liking the way she was speaking about taani.
"And who is she to you? I know you are attached to her son but what are you doing with his mother? And living with her in same house? I didn't expected this from you, Rey, how can you live with a woman without any relation?" His mother questioned him.
"Sumitra, aap inhe kyun dosh de rahi hai. Isme sab galti uss aurat ki hai, anpe bete ke sahare inhe fasa liya, what else can you expect from a girl like her, who got pregnant before marriage, who doesn't even know who is father of her child-" Dadi spoke in venom dripping tone. Anger ran through his vein when he heard his grand mother's words.
"Enough! Not a word against her." Rey roared in anger. All look at him, shocked seeing him so much angry, though they all knew about his bad temper but he never showed his this side to his family.
"Did you see, sumitra, how he is defending her? I'm sure, that woman had done some black magic on your son-" Subhadra taunted while glaring at Rey.
"Rey, today you have to answer me, what is happening? Who is she to you?" Ranvijay questioned him, stepping forward when he saw his son losing his temper.
"Maa hai woh mere bacche ki! Reyaan is my child, she is mother of my child!" Rey shouted, claiming them his infront of his family. All were shocked as his words sinked in. His mother look at him with tearful eyes.
"She was my girlfriend in college, something happened between us before i left for UK. I didn't knew that she was pregnant before i left. And before few days back, I got to know that Reyaan is my son, and I want them back in my life." Rey told them, his voice held the confidence, letting his family know that he wasn't going to let them go for anything or anyone.
"I'll never allow that girl in my house. A girl like her, who had relationship with a man before marriage, can not be the daughter-in-law of his house." Subhadra Devi announced her decision and walked away to her room before anyone could stop her.
"Sorry, Rey, We have no problem in accepting Reyaan & Taani but we can't go against maa. They can't come here." Ranvijay, his father said to him, after thinking alot about the matter. Rey wasn't shocked, he knew his family will never go against his grand mother even if she is wrong.
"Okay, I respect your decision, but you also don't expect me to leave my family when i just got them. If they are not welcome here then even i don't wish to stay in this house." Rey told them about his decision and he marched upstairs to take his stuff. For Reyaan & Taani's happiness, he has to take this decision, He can't not leave them. For their happiness, he will do everything.
"Ranvijay, do something. Our son is leaving home." Sumitra cried in helplessness, hugging her husband tightly.
"Don't cry, sumitra, think about those two who were leaving without him for years. Think about Reyaan, He needs his father. And we might not know anything about that girl but trust your son's choice. Tumne dekhana, Rey ki aankho mein pyaar unn dono ke liye, don't stop him. I'm sure, one day maa will also understand this and he will be back with his family." Ranvijay consoled him, thinking from his son's point of view.
"Maa, I know taani from past one year, and i tell she is not like dadi had accused her to be. She is very sweet, innocent girl." Purvi said to her mother-in-law. Just then they all saw rey, he came downstairs with his stuff. And without talking to anyone, he left the house.
