As the masks are falling off, past is revisited and the layers of having a perfect life is getting blurred, the happy family drama with the pinch of romance is getting to its basic , edgy, not so comfortable non- candyfloss plot. It will surely be a roller coaster ride for us, the audience. Today's episode just proved to be a complete game changer kind with lot of questions in mind and lot of conflicts in heart. ❤️🥺

If I want to describe the episode and my reaction to all the events shown , I guess I will sum it up with the title of the topic- Conflict of emotions. Every one is or will be fighting that battle of conflicts starting from the characters in the show to each one of the viewers. And I guess its just the beginning and it will be a long journey, hope we survive by then thanks to the makers' past records.
Coming to the episode, the ulterior motive of the protagonist is shown and I will be honest I did not like it a bit. Rizwan spoke about his core emotions, his dilemma but with a conviction that he has to succeed in his mission to have justice for his compatriots. But the same Rizwan was fighting with the inner conflicts when his wife Preet was pouring her heart out as she doubted her husband. His mind has a set agenda but the heart has the pain of ditching an honest wife who trusts him blindly.. It will surely a interesting watch to see how he fights his demons , how he camoufloages his emotions and execute his mission, or his conflict of emotions finally has a climax and only emotion emerges as a triumphant. Waiting for that voyage. Must say if the track is executed properly without making it a joke, Iqbal Khan has lot on platter to perform and knowing his body of work, he will not disappoint us, that's for sure. 😳 👍🏼
Preet - Kavya and Preet - Trisha scene also reflected her psyche. Though she was shown having a clear cut mindset of knowing that she does not have personal grudge against a single person or religious bias but she did have hatred towards neighboring country as a whole as she believes that state of power is responsible for devastation in her life. But will she have the same clear cut mindset with specific answers once she knows that the man she in love with is coming from the same country which she detests..That would be her journey of fighting her conflicting emotions. It will injure her more than the past incident did I suppose. 💔
Bade papa has immemse pride for the country and wholeheartedly wants to protect the same from all enemies. So when he chose not to give the file to his son Ishan whom he has loved and trusted so much, was there dilemma in his mind too? that's why he took a pause before taking the file back from Ishan's hand? I guess in due course of time every member of Hooda family will go through a battle of conflicting emotions- what to believe, what not to believe, to choose between right or wrong, good vs evil. So their journey begins too with this revelation of Rizwan Ahmed Khan - the perfect son, brother, husband but as Ishan Hooda.
both Preet and Rizwan are scarred for life as their world of happiness got shattered in seconds thanks to inhuman acts. Both harbour same feelings towards the nations, which they believe is the culprit. are the makers trying to show the different sides of same coin and the radically opposite responses by two different individuals suffering from repercussion of similar circumstances? I wish they portrays it in proper manner as it has all the material to get blown out of proportion. why Ek why? 😡
Lastly coming to the conflict in audience 's heart- what to expect from the show? whether to continue with this kind show with sensitive issue knowing its produced by balaji telefilms. it will constant struggle for us too I suppose to fathom few things shown. As I mentioned earlier I did not like a bit Rizwan's initial dialogues, but when the flashbacks of his family getting killed was shown, the first thing which came to mind- why and did that little child deserve the fate he faced? the whole issue is too sensitive imo and I pray that the makers handle it with extra care. please its a request.
the show and the characters will go through a journey of discovery, pain, fighting inner evils and hopefully at the end find the path of solace and love. I don't know if at all I am excited about the so called love blooming between the couple. At the moment, I don't see myself enjoying the romance at all with the underlying plot like this. Moreover it will be difficult to take sides or choose right or wrong. So I still remain skeptical about the whole concept and execution part but will continue watching till Ekta ruins it by showing something outrageous. it will be a goodbye then and there and I guess I will have my apprehensions regarding the hatkeness of the plot throughout th. don't have any hopes from Ms Kapoor but still will give it bit more time for the lead actors. Another set of conflicting emotions.😆

Nice post and analysis. However, one thing I don't agree with is the concept of the show and why it is not palatable. I think, for me, the concept is what makes it so unique. It is a very layered and complex relationship and that is the USP of the show, this exact conflict of emotions that you have written so well about. And the conflict arises from this plot line of two protagonists who have lost their families and blame the other country for it.

Preet and Ishan both have lost their families at such a young age, where they were impressionable minds, which is why someone or something has been able to etch the hatred of the neighboring country with such force that they absolutely detest it. Their background of being orphaned at a young age can be such a uniting factor for both, where they understand the emotional loss of growing up without parents. Not to mention their daughter Kavya, who is also an orphan, since the real Ishan and his family is dead. Three of them as a family complete each other even though individually they have lost their real families. IT is almost beautiful how fate brought them together. Problem is neither of them know that yet, except Rizwan, which is why he is so attached to Kavya ( as shown in the flashback where he takes her in because he doesn't want her to grow up an orphan) or to Preet, knowing well enough she has the same trajectory of life as he does.

Yet, what binds them, also pits them against each other, since they both blame each other's countries for their loss. They both are not patriotic really, they are just against the other country. Which is what I think is reversible. Hatred can be dissolved, love can't. If Rizwan was taking revenge because he loved PAkistan, it would be hard to change his mind later in the show. But he hates India, which can be worked upon.

My only hope is Ekta shows this as a responsible plot line, not engaging in cliches about either of the countries. I hope they unravel that who killed Rizwan and Preet's families were radicals from each side, and not the military of either country. Radicals don't have a religion nor a country. And so, that way no fingers are pointed. Also, I hope the end results is that love conquers the hate in their hearts and that's the eventual point of the show, is that radicals from each side try to brainwash innocent victims, but the countries are both peace loving and the people are all the same.

And through this comples plotline, I am excited to see love between Rizwan and Preet that changes the way they so strongly feel about other things. Their love is what will heal their scars and dissolve their hatred. I just hope EK handles it sensibly.

It IS about the complex and sensitive plot line that i want to see the romance. Atleast we dont have a cliched romantic story and an obsessive vamp. Atleast the conflict is real and relatable. He came as a spy and whatever hatred Rizwan was taught was against his basic nature and he fights with it whenever it crawls back to the surface. THIS is what we call characters and a plot line - for the first time.
As for the sensitivity, i am keeping my fingers crossed. Ekta is playing with fire. She dared enough to introduce a hero for the Indian audience saying I HATE INDIA! that needs guts and also is this a commendable thing on Iqbal's part that he agreed to it. They dared to do something different and it shows.

thank you for liking the post. yes the concept is surely very unique and has lot of potential if explored well. I fear the execution part as the makers are known for overdramatic stuff without doing proper research on the concept. that makes me apprehensive. the journey of conflicting emotions and finally one universal emotion of love as the triumphant one sounds very nice theoretically. But practically how it will be portrayed makes it questionable for me.

Preet and Ishan both have lost their families at such a young age, where they were impressionable minds, which is why someone or something has been able to etch the hatred of the neighboring country with such force that they absolutely detest it. Rizwan's case is that of theory of condtioning of human mind. At that tender age, he was fed with hatred and negativity and thus he has become what he is today. But if he himself ends up killing innocent people just like his parents got killed or even indulge in the activities which is against humanity, then it does not get justified either. Again another Rizwan would be brought up and same cycle would continue. That's how it works I suppose.but I hope the attachment he has with Hoodas or the bond he has with kavya helps him to introspect and kill his inner demons. At least in fiction, we can hope that as in reality it just not happening at all.

I absolutely loved what you wrote in the above paragraph. Hope the writers has this much depth while dealing the same. ⭐️❤️👍🏼

Yes I hope so too. the age old animosity between two countries is too deep rooted and yet to get diminished. Rather it gets aggravated more due to instigation from different sources. atleast we can hope that the show will not add more negativity to the existing grave situation. hope the makers handles it with utmost care and maturity. still doubtful though.

lets see where this journey takes these two protagonists , both victims , both scarred and if the love for each other can heal them at all or not. Sounds very poetic but in real don't know if that's possible or not.

Must say it was a brilliant write up.

Thanks pinkeye! :) I agree, I wish someone else was handling such a sensitive topic. EK is known to destroy whatever story she picks up like Yeh Hain Mohabbatein. That show is destroyed.

I hope she does justice to Iqbal Khan and Mona singh at the least. I am so happy to seem them on TV after so long and I hope I can keep watching them unless EK screws up this one too.

You are right about Rizwan killing innocents. I think that will be a dead end of the show. You cannot sympathize with any one who kills innocents and him being the lead it will be a complete no no to accept him at all. I do hope like you said, love makes him introspect. Having your own family, changes the way a man feels, at least some of them. And they are already showing a soft side to Rizwan so I hope he is one of the few who has a change of heart for the better.

I just hope that they don't portray Pakistan as some enemy nation, because politcians do enough of that already. I want to see a refreshing change of mindset in the show, which has a point that it is only radicals who beleive in killing and brainwashing, but the real citizens of both countries are the same, peace loving brethren.

yes its like double edged sword. hoping that the treatement given to it as proper and not kiddish in many other balaji shows. about the love story, it will be one hell of a complex layered story. And I guess we all can see why Ekta chose these two seasoned actors for the project. both have lot of scope to show their brilliant acting skills and that makes me excited.
AS for Iqbal, I already said that its a brave attempt from his side to take up this kind of role amid all ongoing politically influenced controversies. he deserves applause for it. A big thumbs up. 👍🏼

I totally agree!! Its like a canvas for the both of them to enrich with their acting skills. IQ has already started to fill in the shades of a heartbroken kid to a terrorist full of vengeance to a guilty husband. He can portray all these emotions in a 1 mint close up of his face (can i again say he is very handsome )

As for Mona, her character has been behaving in a predictable manner but her role will start once she gets to know who Ishaan is. I am so so looking forward pleasseee EKTAA!! we beg u not to ruin it 😆
