Reporters proved to be legal in the court of law - Part VII

Wealthy Minister case (Richa): Though a filler case, this case proved to be fatal for Richa and Sunny, since, Richa, on the information provided by Manav, interrogates the minister which he finds intruding, leading to his supporters to bash up Sunny and confiscate his camera... The minister doesn't stop on that. He immediately summons Khalid and threatens him of a legal action forcing him to sack Richa. However, Kabir saves Richa job by providing the authentic information about the Minister and seconding what Richa had interrogated the minister. In this case, the aspect of lazy journalism was witnessed by us when journalists provide us the information without doing a proper homework, resulting into sometimes, the news proving to be completely fake. At the same time, we also got introduced once again with the aspect of case of defamation which the minister threatens to file for degrading or defaming his reputation. However, Kabir asking Richa to give the proofs about the minister and specifically telling the viewers that not only she and Sunny were being hurt but also KKN was asked to sack her, actually manifests the aspect of reply to the defamation case of Minister. In the case of defamation, if the respondent is proved innocent and the petitioner proves to be guilty which means that the defamation accusation is incorrect then , in that case, the petitioner is bound to pay a heavy compensation for counter defaming the respondent by filing a fake case against him

Arms Dealers Case: This dangerous case, in which we saw Kabir as Bhadresh Kutty dealt with a serious problem of arms smuggling and illegal sale and purchase of the same. The case was strong from the legal point of view since it came under The Arms Act 1959. It is clearly mentioned in Clause No.5 of this act that "No person can sell, transfer,...arms and ammunition without licence". A simple case yet a strong one from the country's security point of view! What was more interesting and damaging to note in this case, was the involvement of government employees in these illegal dealings. This case very subtly commented on the pathetic condition of our ministers and government employees who can go to any extent for the sake of money. It also reminded us of some bollywood celebrities who are convicted of the same charges and are undergoing punishment

I didn't like the way both these cases were handled.

(To put it differently, these are some of the episodes which I never went back to watch again on YouTube!) 😊

Richa was supposed to be a senior journalist. And they showed her making a mistake that was quite amateurish.

1) She went for an interview without doing her ground work.

2) She threw baseless allegations.. and didn't even know how to cover up.. The best way would be to say 'sources'

The second one, the arms dealer case was an important case. As you mentioned, this case had multiple grave issues. 1) illegal arms 2) highly placed govt officials being involved It is unfortunate that the way this case was dealt provided comic relief and did not really convey the gravity of the situation...
