I recently began watching my j-dramas again after going through a k-drama phase 😆
Gokusen is my first jdrama love! It was my first japanese show and has always been a classic for me.
I see many kdrama fans but not so many jdrama fans, therefore posted this topic up to see if there are any jdrama fans around here?
IF there are, which is your fav jdrama? whose your fav japanese actor?
And are there any Gokusen fans? 😃 Would love to chat about that show with other fans!

Tbh my Asian drama addiction started with a j-drama ...my first drama was yamato nadeshiko shichi henge aka walflower..so no matter how many k-dramas i watch j-drama are always my sweeties ...i did watch Gokusen and loved it too ..but the second season felt kinda repetitive and boring..so i dropped it .. i was a hard core yankumi and shin shipper ..so lack of them too got added to the reasons why i never went back there...BTW did yankumi's love life ever got a conclusion or did she got teased with all the random guys on the show until the end..??🥱🥱i have a long list of fav ..Pride,Hana Kimi ,Hana Yori Dango,Smile,Nobuta Wo Produce,Bloody Monday, Code Blue,Bambino and Lair games are few to name ... ikuta toma ,oguri shun and matsumoto jun are my bias what about you ..??

Hi. I like J-dramas although I haven't seen many...only about 7-8. My fav dramas so far are HYD, Hana Kimi and Ouroboros. I haven't seen Gokusen yet. I am currently watching Rich man poor man and just started One litre of tears.

My bias is Oguri Shun and I also like Ikuta Toma. From actresses, I like Inoue Mao and Ueno Juri.

My first and foremost suggestion would be Gokusen. Its the kind of show that really sticks to you even after you finish it, I have quite the emotional connect with that show :)
Yamato Nadeshiko Henge is another good one. The thing about jdrama is that they are quite unique and have a different outlook compared to other asian dramas, I haven't enjoyed all dramas I watched because well... their brand of comedy isn't something that I could follow at times 😆

@Renu:
I think I have met my jdrama twin in you 😆 My journey into Asian dramas also began with jdrama, and it will always hold a special place despite my latter love for kdramas.

Ooh! Its nice to see a fellow Nadeshiko fan *highfive* I loved that show too! It was the show that began my Kamenashi Kazuya love <3
That was my second show after Gokusen(which started my Matsujun bias). I'm quite picky about the jdramas I watch at times, with the jdrama tendency of open endings or tragic endings making me quite cautious of what I watch. (I hate it when they leave the main pairing with an unambiguous ending >_<)

Speaking of endings, well...Yankumi's love life never got any ending. They just kept her crushing after various guys =_=
I loved the ShinKumi pairing too, my otp at that time and like you, I too avoided the later seasons and the eventual movie due to the lack of ShinKumi and also I lost the interest in their pairing after I heard about the whole offscreen drama between them but I recently caught up with all the seasons, it wasn't all that bad they all sorta grow on you. 😊 (though Yankumi's antics does get very repetitive, but the students are cool)
Oh yea, There was some chemistry in her relationship with her season 2 class 3D leader Ryu Odagiri (played by Kame), he returns later in the final movie and I dunno about others but I definitely saw a potential pairing there. *-* <3

My bias are Kamenashi Kazuya, Matsujun, Osama Mukai, Yamapi (at times) and Ikuta Toma. 😃

@incandescent:
Oh 1 Litre Tears I wanted to try it but these sad dramas are not my cup of tea, especially jdrama sad, they really hit you and stay with you for a long time.

I like Ikuta Toma too and I like Oguri Shun's dramas, my bias are Kamenashi Kazuya and Matsujun. Among the actresses, I love Nakama Yukie and Keiko Kitagawa.

Oh do try Gokusen! You will definitely not regret it 😊

@Rad(hope you don't mind me calling you that ):Well hello there twin sistaaar..!!!!😆😆

let's bond over our love for kame and yamato nadeshiko then

The skull kiss from show was what pulled me into Asian drama..some say that the anime was way better then the show but IDT so ..i really can't stand all that chibi-ness and nose bleeds in that anime...the live action will forever remain as one of my personal favorites..well that's what makes them special i guess...the thing i love about j-dramasis their hatke-ness and weird-ness..they aren't much popular but they are much more magical then k-dramas
i think i saw that coming..anyway no worries we still have a manga and it ended with ShinKumi getting together or that's what i read..so ya it's fine i guess..sorry but i never saw any chemistry between them or may be it's just me being me who doesn't wanna see anything apart from her OTP..😆😆
looks like we share common bias too kame,toma and jun..okay add yampi too even i like him occasionally !!
