And I just watched the 9th episode of Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do and can I please please please say that I predicted this?
And at the same time point out the similarities to YHM?
How did I guess it, you ask?
With the similarities between PKHJD and YHM.
Infact I have been screaming this from day one and no one bothered to listen to me.
#1 The platonic relationship between the leads. #2 One brother and two sisters (albeit cousin).#3 Loving in-laws. #4 The kid being too old to be their biological kid in four years of marriage. #5 Married for the kid. #6 Sirf Kavya ke liye relationship clause. #7 Both lost loved ones. I'm assuming Preet lost her fiance and Ishaan or Rizwan his wife. #8 Both lost their families (which in YHM was the family they were to form or formed via spouses).#9 Falling or fallen but couldn't act on it. #10 The Muslim male lead for Trisha (I haven't watched episode 8 as yet).#11 The whole Muslim downplay about marriage and everything. #12 Ishaan gobsmacked at Preet when she's dressed to leave for the engagement. That was a big give away.
With Ekta the thing is her arcs get revealed in a day or two. She plays them badly or can't play them at all.
But for those who didn't know; Ishaan is a Muslim and I'm guessing Sana could/couldn't be his first wife. But he's a Muslim named Rizwan Ahmed Khan. Don't expect much from Ekta whose YHM characters carry their real life names. Sarika is Sarika, Ruhaanika is Ruhaanika, Mihika is Mihika and so on and so forth. Rizwan is probably taken via Aditi Gupta's boyfriend and Ahmed Khan from Azad Ahmed Khan.
Blah, who cares.
I'm starting to like this and I am getting used to Iqbal and Mona as a couple but even with the popular Ruhi ke liye formula Ekta fails to realise that what makes YHM is Karan and Divyanka who carry the script so well. Kavya at times is annoying (I'm not saying the kid is annoying) bit when you have her sprouting those annoying clich dialogues, it kind of makes her annoying by association. And she screams into the camera for some reasons or maybe it's just me watching via headphones. Ruhi was adorable.
I'm feeling Ishaan though. And I love that he's has fallen for Preet but fights his feelings and can't really bring himself to get it on with her knowing that he isn't really honest with her.
I initially though (in the first episode) that Ishaan's secret was something stupid, but now I'm actually compelled to watch the show that it's picking up pace.
And a huge hug to anyone and everyone who knows me. I'm sorry I won't be in the forum much because I've come to realise that after YHM the forum is mostly filled with people who ruin the watching experience. But I would love to have a gush team though.
