Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum telly review: Karan Kundra and Saanvi Talwar's musical soap kicks off on a high note!

Ekta Kapoor's brand new show went on air today. Here's what I thought about the pilot episode!

One of the most admired TV producers, Ekta Kapoor, has proved time and again that she has the knack of coming up with interesting shows. Adding a musical twist to regular soap, Ekta has roped in popular TV star Karan Kundra and paired him opposite a relatively new but spunky Saanvi Talwar to give us a new love story in small screen. The first episode of Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum aired on & TV tonight. Is the show any good? Lets find out!

What's it about:

Rahul Sabarwal ( Karan Kundra) is the musical sensation of India and is a renowned rockstar. This self proclaimed God of Music is on a look out for fresh female talent, who could sing along with him. His father, a yesteryear singer Raj Sabarwal, organises a nation wide talent hunt in search of the voice which would complement Rahul's style of music. Enter Manvi Chatterjee (Saanvi Talwar), a talented singer, who happens to be a daughter of Bengali music teacher. Manvi and Rahul have a strange first meet as she sprays pepper spray in his eyes due to some misunderstanding. While Rahul is patiently waiting for that fresh voice, Manvi enters the competition without her father's knowledge. Manvi's father hates father-son duo of Raj and Rahul Sabarwal, as he thinks that they are selling their musical talent for money. When her father gets to know about Manvi's plans, he confronts her but she convinces him that she wants to win the contest so that she could spread his ideology of music to the masses. At the audition, Manvi and Rahul are about to meet, but she is scared that Rahul might recognise her as the girl who blinded her. Will he find out about Manvi's true identity?

What's good:

At first, when I heard about the story of Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum, I thought it was just a wannabe imitation of Aashiqui 2. But I was pleasantly surprised that the show had its own originality. Though the basic plot of Shraddha Kapoor - Aditya Roy Kapur's musical may sound similar to Ekta's show, there are enough differences in the traits of the main characters that makes Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum rather refreshing. Karan Kundra breaks the usual stereotypical image of the rockstar and comes off as a down to earth musician who loves music more than anything in life. He has a starry air around him but at the same time he has something honest about his character that makes him relatable. Saanvi Talwar has more screen time than Karan in the first episode and she carries the show forward quite well indeed. Playing a character who is caught between her dreams and her father's principles, Saanvi Talwar gives a believable performance. The production value and the sets used in the show are quite different. The character who plays Manvi's father is mildly funny but at the same time pretty ferocious when it comes to respecting music.

What's bad:

There are a few flaws in the show as well. First of all, it isn't cleared why Rahul aka Karan Kundra needs a singing partner. Isn't her supposed to be good enough to hold the fort on his own? Secondly, the way Manvi aka Saanvi convinces her father to let her take part in the contest didn't sound convincing to me at all. Also, I have a big problem with the background score used in the show as it doesn't seem to be matching with the emotions of the scenes in the show. Just because Rahul's father is rich, he is shown roaming around everywhere in coat suit. The other supporting cast is mediocre and don't bring anything new to the table.

What to do:

Ekta Kapoor's Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum has started off on a high note. Overall, Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum is a decent watch and will most likely grow on you in following episodes as the story proceeds. We hope that show manages to capture the essence of musical romance between its characters in episodes to come.

Oh KK nailed it👏⭐️

Saanvi Talwar has more screen time than Karan in the first episode and she carries the show forward quite well indeed. Playing a character who is caught between her dreams and her father's principles, Saanvi Talwar gives a believable performance.

Really????🤣 (Sry My Opinion)

The production value and the sets used in the show are quite different.

Agree...thank god, they arent using d same repeated sets fa this show too😊

The character who plays Manvi's father is mildly funny but at the same time pretty ferocious when it comes to respecting music.

Agree, he s dng a gud job👏

yeah.. it ll be nyc, if they cleared abt Why d Rockstar needs singing parter!!

Secondly, the way Manvi aka Saanvi convinces her father to let her take part in the contest didn't sound convincing to me at all.

Completely my thought

Also, I have a big problem with the background score used in the show as it doesn't seem to be matching with the emotions of the scenes in the show.

Oh i hate those repeated BGMs from EK's old show!! even Archana-Manav BGM bit was used!! lyk seriously EK???😡🤢

Just because Rahul's father is rich, he is shown roaming around everywhere in coat suit. The other supporting cast is mediocre and don't bring anything new to the table.

Lets wait N watch fa that.😊

I agree they should stick to the show concept. There is a channel v show running for a while now where the makers stick to the original concept. The show is soon to complete 500 episodes. Wish Ekta know how to get good TRP with sticking to her shows concept.

The same old formula, girl hates boy in the beginning, thinks he's a playboy 😆 the girl and boy finally meets and automatically sparks fly; love at first sight and all 😆 both the families hate each other 😆 the boy can't stop thinking about the girl and finally the boy tries to pursue the girl and they both fall in love 😆 wam bam thankyou Ekta mam 😆

Ekta has truly run out of writers, she should get writers from IF, because at least they write better love stories with drama, climax and above all creativity!

And alot of hit & miss till they finally come face to face😆It's like Aashiqui 2 with a mix of old Ekta Kapoor shows. I am actually enjoying it but I wouldn't denied the fact YES... This show is very cliched.
