Thanks...

"Di tumhare liye ek good news hai... maine maa ko phone par baat karte hue suna... a proposal of some ACP has come for you and they are coming to see you day after tomorrow... I don't remember his name though..." Trushna, Trisha's younger sister said wriggling her brows as she looked at Trisha driving the car with her forehead creased with a frown of concentration. Trushna's words fuelled the irritation she was feeling due to their recent case.
"What... yeh maa bhi naa... why is she always behind my wedding as if she has no other work to do... Aur tumhe bads maza aa raha hai Trushna..." she gave an irate look to Trisha as she changed gear of car while Trushna suppressed her chuckle.
"Di... ek baat batana... tumhe shaadi ke naam se itni chidh kyu hai... I mean tum successful ho... beautiful ho... aur tumhari age bhi shaadi ke liye perfect hain... phir kya baat hai ki tum shadi se bhaagti rehti hoon..." she asked curiously.
"Trushna... There is no reason... I just don't want to get married... I don't want to tie myself into some relation with someone I don't even know properly... Main jise jaanti hi nahi uske saath zindagi kaise nibhaungi... so..." Trisha shrugged.
"Oh... toh tum love marriage karna chahti ho... wait wait... di are you in love...???" Trushna cried impatiently.
"Whoa whoa... cut it... I am not interested in any kind of marriage... EITHER ARRANGED OR LOVE... now please stop this discussion... I don't want to talk about this stressful topic after a gruelling day..." Trisha replied in an irate tone as she turned the car towards the left. Trushna shut her mouth after one look at Trisha's face as she continued chewing on her bubblegum.
Trushna could not help thinking about Trisha's irritation behind the talk of marriage and her mind was telling her that Trisha has something in her heart that she is not able to express... but she was always like this... never able to express her emotions in words. Trisha and Trushna moved in the office. Trisha had picked her from her tuition classes but chief had called her back to office for some urgent work and she had to come back along with Trushna as Trushna's scooty had broken down a day before. Trisha asked Trushna to sit in her cabin and moved towards the conference room. Trushna agreed and after greeting everyone including Bikram, Gauri and Rajbir and moved in her cabin. She saw Trisha's blazer still hanging on her chair. Maybe she must have forgotten it she thought. Her mind cooked up some mischief and she put the jacket on and took a seat on Trisha's chair swirling it around so that her back faced the door. She masked her expressions to strict ones like her didi. Fortunately her black denims and maroon shirt resembled Trisha's black trousers and maroon formal shirt. She spoke like her sister one moment and giggled the next at her acting skills having silly fun.
"Hi... Trisha.. abhi office aayi tum..." Raghav asked casually as he entered into her cabin.
Trushna deducted that it must be Raghav from his tone and calling Trisha by her first name which only Raghav in the entire office did. Her voice resembled Trisha's to an extent along with her features and height and hence she tried to test his intelligence by behaving like Trisha and seeing of her recognizes her or not.
"Haan... Vo I had gone to the parlour... a boy is coming to see me day after tomorrow... so needed to freshen up..." she replied still looking at the wall in her front.
"Parlour... that means you are ready to tie the knot now..." Raghav said in a mischievous tone knowing how much this question irritated her.
"Haan... ab samajh gayi hoon ki shaadi ko itne din avoid karke I have been unreasonable with myself as well as my family... I have heard that the boy is an IPS and from a good family so I have given my consent to meet him and henceI needed to make up myself..." she replied as she pretended to look busy holding some file. The answer stumped Raghav... He had never expected this kind of response and moreover she sounded happy on the news of her marriage and Raghav wasn't able to understand the sudden approval to the thing she hated the most till the previous day. He felt his heart get sour and he wasn't even able to understand the reason behind the feelings he felt at the simple answer. He was never concerned whenever he got to hear that she has got a wedding proposal from some guy coz he always knew that she would deny to it at the end of the day. But it seemed that this time the meet was mutually decided and she would now return only after being announced as an official fiance of some random "Good family's IPS officer"... Oh hell! Raghav felt his chest would suffocate in the cabin.
" Great... Boss... please go and celebrate... I think I should be leaving as you look too busy to even look at me while talking... Maybe because of the proposal of the IPS officer..." he replied as he left the cabin the instant and the office the next. Trushna was surprised at the gesture. She wasn't understanding why did Raghav behave so weird suddenly. She had said all those just because she was not getting what to talk so that he doesn't become suspicious and not knowing any of their official talks she remembered her conversation with Trisha in the car and quickly uttered those words. But she wasn't understanding his behaviour. She felt that Raghav didn't like the idea of Trisha getting engaged to someone else... as if he was jealous... Her chain of thoughts was broken by the voice of the door open and she saw Trisha walking in. After ollecting her things and they walked out of the office.
~~~~~~~~~~
Trisha was walking down the corridor towards Raghav's cabin when she bumped into someone. The papers in her hands fell and she immediately bent to pick them so that their order doesn't gets destroyed.
"Oh god... sare papers gir gaye..."
"Sorry sorry... I am so sorry Trisha ji... it was my fault..." he said as he too bent down to help her gathering those papers.
"It's okay..." Trisha replied as she stood up... "But how do you know me... I mean sorry I don't remember seeing you before..." She asked.
"I am Ankit... Mr. Dilip's son..." he replied and forwarded his hand for a handshake.
"Oh... Hello Mr. Ankit... nice to meet you..." Trisha accepted his handshake and smiled.
"Same here... papa se bohot suna tha aapke bare mein...Actually I was here to invite you and Mr. Raghav... for my dad and mom's 33rd wedding anniversary... I have arranged a party for them and you have to come... or else dad will not like it..." He said in a casual tone.
"Oh... that's great... actually I didn't socialise much... so.." he started to say but Ankit cut her, "No so... no ifs and buts... you need to attend... dad jaante the ki aap aisa hi kuch kahengi... aur isliye hi unhone mujhe kaha hai ki aapko toh mujhe invite karna hi hai... my mom wants to meet you too..." he replied.
"Okay... I will come.." Trisha smiled and took his leave politely. Ankit smiled too and moved ahead. The two were completely oblivious to the pair of eyes looking at them with a frown and the person was none other than Raghav. He straightened his face as Ankit neared him...
"Hello Mr. Raghav... finally I get to meet you..." Ankit extended his hand for a
shake which Raghav reciprocated with a tight smile. He shook his hand and Ankit invited him formally to the party held the same evening. Raghav accepted the invitation half heartedly... coz the invitation was fron his boss and denying it would look rude... He wasn't able to understand why... but he was already not feeling right after his last encounter with Trisha... when she had said that she is happy to get married he was feeling kind of melancholic... and now seeing her so oblivious to his irritation and talking and smiling was putting him at edge all the more... Ankit after a goodbye left the office... The schedule for the day was light hence everyone left the office in the evening itself so that they can reach the party venue on time...
Trisha stood in front of the wardrobe confused as what to wear to the party. She was never a party girl so she never stressed on getting ready but she had to attend this one. She closed her eyes and took out a hanger randomly and rushed in the restroom. Getting ready in a simple yet classy way much like her personality, she left home in her car.
Raghav locked his car and walked in the hall. Presenting a smashing look in his black tuxedo minus tie and a few buttons left open at the top, he could have made each girl out there go weak in her knees. The satin pocket square only enhanced his look like his light unshaved stubble. He had just entered the party lawns when he saw Dilip standing near the staircase with a lady and presuming it to be his wife, he moved towards them and wished them sweetly presenting them with a lovely bouquet of blood red roses. They accepted his wishes and Mrs. Dilip blessed him. He was talking to her when his eyes casually moved toward the entrance only only to be stuck at the sight. A lady decked in a lovely peach saree with golden hemmed velvet navy blue patch border...teamed up with a velvet and gold sequin work small sleeved blouse, hair tied in a loose side bun, two beautiful jhumkas adorning her ears, very different from her usually kept loose tresses... and light make up that only enhanced her lovely features, she looked beautiful. Raghav felt his breath caught and for a second he couldn't believe that she is the same Trisha he daily works with. An absolute antagonist to what he sees always...but like a charming delicate woman.
Raghav's brow creased when he saw a man coming and receiving her on the entrance. He shook her hands and turned around to walk in along with her. The frown deepened to see the man to be none other than Ankit. They both walked in smiling.
"Raghav kaha khoye hi tum..." Rajbir's voice pulled him a out of his trance and he tore his eyes from them in a jiffy. He realised that Dilip had moved to receive other guests and Bikram and Rajbir had come to greet him. He just nodded while Rajbir excused himself. Trisha moved towards Raghav and greeted him casually with a sweet smile... so unlikely of her.
"Hey Raghav... kab aaye tum.."
"Hi Trisha... I have just come..." he replied rather dryly. The convo he last made with her regarding her wedding Wass still afresh in his mind and he wasn't feeling the same to talk to her now... as if she had suddenly transformed into some other... The Trisha he knows so better since 3 years was nowhere near to what he was seeing now.
"Achhe lag rahe ho... in kapdo mein..." she complimented him... not registering the dryness and his voice much.
"Thank you very much boss..." he replied sombrely again. Trisha this time felt the rude tone and was about to ask him the reason for his behaviour since afternoon when Dilip came seeing the together and borrowed Trisha for a moment to meet his wife who was very eager to meet her.
Mrs. Dilip turned around as she felt a touch on her shoulder. She smiled widely to see Trisha standing behind her with Dilip. He had brought her to meet his wife. She hugged her merrily and blessed her when she bent to touch her feet, stopping her midway. Both the females talked and laughed like they know each other since long. Dilip called Ankit and introduced her to him. Ankit replied that he had already met her in the office when he had gone to invite the VIP CBI employees personally.
"Oh toh aap log mil chuke hain... Ankit beta make her comfortable... hum abhi aate hai..." Mrs. Dilip said as she moved to receive other guests.
Trisha looked at him while he smiled as he stopped the waiter passing by and handed her a glass of orange juice. She thanked him and had just touched the glass to her lips to sip it when her while body froze for a second. Raghav laughing looking like a carefree child while looking extremely hot and handsome at the same time in the formal tux with an informal look. She had faiked to notice hia attire first but when she noticed she could bot help bit admire him anf his well built physique draped in that fittng suit. She had always seen him in his office casuals and now his completely new and hot look had awed her. Raghav turned as he stuffed his phone in his pocket only to see an enchanted Trisha looking at him unblinkingly. Her eyes met his only to be locked for a whole minute before she averted hers as Ankit voice pulled her out of her stupor. Raghav was looking devilishly handsome today and she secretly wasnt wishing to take her eyed off him. While Raghav too was feeling the same. She looked etheral in that saree and he wanted to just keep looking at her. Raghav's eyes seethed seeing that man again with her. Oh he was stuck to her like a leech... and he was slowly loosing his patience. For a a second his mind urged him to go and give a hard smack on that stupid Ankit's head.
"So ladies and gentlemen... I hope you all are enjoying the party... now I request everyone to please choose their partner's and hit the dance floors... Take party ki shaan mein char chand lag jaaye..." a guy said holding the mike on the stage. Soon a few couples reached the floor as the DJ played a soft tune. Ankit had opened his mouth to speak when Mrs. Dilip moved in there.
"Trisha beta... aap enjoy to kar rahi ho na.. kaisi lag rahi hai party... maine suna tum parties wagereh zyada enjoy nahi karti..." she asked.
"Ji aunty... party bohot achhi hai... I really liked it..." Trisha replied politely.
"Maa... aapki ijaazat ho toh kya main Trisha ji ko ek dance ke liye leke ja sakta hoon..." Ankit asked out of the blue shocking Trisha. Mrs. Dilip shrugged and asked him to ask Trisha as she is the one with whom he wants to dance.
"Trisha ji aapko aitraaz na ho toh kya aap mere saath dance karengi..." Ankit asked moving his palm forward. Trisha was at loss of words. She wasn't knowing how to respond. She thought to decline but then it would look rude, especially in front of his mom so she thought to give it a go as a casual dance with boss' son won't hurt. She hesitatingly kept her palm into his and he took her to the dance floor. She placed her right hand on his shoulder and he placed his on her back. Their left hands locked they danced softly while Raghav's patience almost gave away. His mind raged and he was feeling like strangling Ankit.
The closeness they shared though only for the dance, made him realise that he cannot see her with anyone else but HIM. Yes he was possessive of her and felt that only he had the right to dance with her in his arms. He realised that he has fallen head over heels for his strict, workaholic, disciplined yet beautiful and soft hearted boss. He closed his eyes not able to bear the sight of her in some other man's arms. After a minute he opened them to see Trisha gazing at him with a look he had never seen in her eyes, still moving on the dance floor. She had seen him squeezing his eyes shut on the moment she stepped on the floor with Ankit.
Their gazes locked as Raghav looked at her with an expression that expressed his hurt to see his love with some other man. While Trisha gazed at him with a yearning... though subconsciously, but she wanted him to be the one she would dance with... him to be the only one who can sway with her caged in his arms. Dancing with another guy made her realise that no one can take the place Raghav had in her life and her heart. She has started liking him... and now she knows that she loved him... loves him madly. But she knew Raghav does not... Why would a handsome and cheerful man like him love a strict and boring woman like her. The music stopped and everyone moved down. Trisha moved a little fast as if she was looking for a single chance to go away from the place. Dinner started after some time while Trisha was confused and wanted to have a word with Raghav but wasnt able to because of Gauri or Bikram interrupting one time or other.
"So guys... now let's play a game before we end the evening... We are giving everyone present here a coloured card and each card has a match with the opposite gender... ladki yaha aayegi aur card dikhaayegi aur vo ladka jiske paas same colour ka card hoga vo aayega aur phir the two will have to perform... ab romantic evening hai toh games bhi waise hi hone chahiye... kyu dosto..." the same guy who had announced before said. Trisha sighed exasperated at the dancing event and was about to leave the lawn when a girl came and handed her a red card and moved away.
"Let's see Trisha ji... I might be lucky to get another dance with you..." Ankit replied coming near her. Trisha just faked a smile and looked towards the stage silently praying that Ankit should not be the one this time... A few people making couple with their friends, relatives with same cards performed sweetly... luckily Rajbir too got to perform with Gauri and he was beaming with happiness. Trisha clapped softly and looked around... Raghav wasnt in view... maybe he has left. The party got even more sour for her... realising her love for him sometime ago while he behaving aloof with her was making her head ache...She looked at the entrance wishing to go when the guy called the girl with the red card. Trisha looked caught and she smiled nervously. The introvert she was... All this was getting on her nerves. She reluctantly moved on the stage and showed her card. She expected some random guy to come as most of the people were from the same profession and hence she knew them. But her eyes popped out to see Raghav appearing out of blue and reaching the stage with a red card in his hand. He handed his card to the guy and gave out his hand for her to place her hand upon. She blinked twice to see of this was for real and the almighty has been generous enough to give her what her heart was secretly desiring. She gave in her palm and he clutched his fingers around it before he pulled her along on the dance floor.
How was it...
