Amita Chandekar insists all's well between Karan Patel and her
It's been four weeks of hectic rehearsals and shooting but Amita Chandekar is not complaining... much! "Karan (Patel) and I have been shooting for Kasturi in the daytime and rehearsing for Nach Baliye 3 at nights. It can become really difficult at times, not to mention physically tiring, but we're trying not to think about it," says Amita with a smile. And after the round of compliments they received last time from the judges, the couple are working even harder at bettering their dance steps. So who's the better dancer of the two? "Karan of course!" says Amita, "He is a trained dancer, so it's kind of easier for him as he already knows the skill. But as far as matching steps with him goes, I'm not that bad!" she laughs.
Amita is thankful to her production house and to her co-stars for supporting Karan and her. "Earlier, we used to shoot at different times and so, could not even rehearse for Nach... together. But now, they try and finish Karan and my shots around the same time, so we can rehearse together," she says. That was also one of the reasons why people misunderstood their rehearsing separately to be a sign of trouble in paradise. "We both were stunned when we got to know about it. It was only time problem and nothing else," she says. So is it all good between her and Karan? "Tiffs between couples are natural but yes, everything is fine," she clarifies.
Apart from the dance show, Amita has Kasturi on air. "My character is that of an out and out bitch who loves material possessions and is also having an extra-marital affair. It's a lot of fun since I'm not like that at all in real life," she says. As for doing other shows, Amita says that she will only be able to take up something after Nach... ends. "I will definitely be looking out for an interesting role after the show ends. Negative or positive, I'm game for any role as long as it's good," she concludes.
