Hey, this would be my very first attempt at writing in the forum. I have always wanted to but never had the nerve to do it. I have been thinking about something for a long time now. I am not sure if it's any good, but I couldn't help myself but get it out of my system. So please bear with me. I would really appreciate honest feedback.
I will have to inform you before-hand that though I will be using the show as base to develop the story, it will not be entirely based on the show. I also have taken my creative liberties pretty seriously and made some changes to the characterization.Though the essence would obviously remain the same. I also want you guys to know that based on the feedback I receive, I will decide if it would be an OS, TS , SS or an FF.

She looked at the clock on the wall for the umpteenth time since her class had started. She knew she was going to be late if she did not wrap it up soon. She was growing more apprehensive as the clock ticked. I'm being an idiot she thought even as she realized there was no helping it. She was shaken out of her reverie by her colleague who seemed to have noticed that she was a little out of it today. Giving her the best apologetic smile she could come up with, she began addressing her class
"As it was discussed in the previous class, we are going to be learning some of the basic principles of contemporary dance. We are going to be covering torso contraction, torso spiral, breast and side fall, exercise for feet and ankle, triplets, body spirals, Plie', Releve', side stretches in circle, Retire, leg extensions and side fall from a standing position. Sounds like fun, yeah?"
Dance! It had always been her calling. When she danced, she lost herself, becoming something larger, more beautiful, more powerful. She was addicted to the feeling. It allowed her to truly go beyond what was immediate and create magic! The Hidden language of one's soul it had been rightly called. She was blessed to have had the opportunity to make a living out of it. She loved what she was doing. It was the only thing she knew how to do and to do it well. Well apart from one other thing she mused. The kid's batch was her favorite. They were always eager and excited to learn more. It gave her immense pleasure in connecting with the little ones through her passion. If she did not have this to fall back on, she was sure... Snapping out of it, not wanting to dwell more on that line of thought, she decided to pay attention to the students in front of her. "Now that the warm up is done, let's get started on the fun part", she announced, grinning as their faces lit up.
Oh no! She was running late! Why didn't she have the sense to book an Uber? God! I'm an idiot, she thought. Why wasn't she able to think straight? " You never could, when it came to him", her sub-conscious rightly pointed out. Stupid know-it-all sub-conscious, she cursed. She looked at her watch again. Staring at it, wishing it would slow down. She could not afford to miss it. She was not going to miss it!

He stood wearing his signature black jeans- artistically torn up, a blue t-shirt that matched the pins on his jacket and laces on his converse. He had grown used to this feeling of his nerves giving way to anticipation as he entered the place that he considered home for the past few years. It was the place, he had come to believe where he finally belonged. The stage!
Supernova Arena in Bangalore was one of his favorite venues. He was the kind of a singer who liked to see the effect his music created among his audience up-front. He was also not one of those people who were afraid to get all hot and sweaty. And boy did he enjoy that feeling! It was his escape. Being surrounded by people who were as passionate, if not more about the same thing as him, was truly magical! Right now, as the carnivorous room came alive all at once before him, he realized that this was not going to be easy. He looked at his favorite guitar. It was time! The roar that erupted when he picked it up was deafening. He really was addicted to it.
"I really love performing in Bangalore. It's such a wonderful city .Thank you for coming out here and being patient with us. We apologize for the delay. Now that we are finally here, let's stop with the chit-chat and do what we are here to do shall we?" he declared as the crowd cheered causing a huge grin to light his face up. Ah, this definitely felt good. He always gave what his fans sought. He loved pleasing them. His band was tagged a goofy band, loved and reviled by many. Over the years, he had learnt to be self-deprecating about it all. It was what he believed made his fans stay loyal to their band.
With that thought in his mind, he let it go!
They played all their crowd favorites. They were always eager, all four of them. Performing floor exercises that he knew would not always come off looking heroic but rather awkward. Sprinting and leaping up and down a runway through the audience. Though the show was choreographed and executed with lots of recorded backing instrumentation, there were few moments of genuine spontaneity that he always looked forward to. They never saved their best moves for last. Half way through the show, confetti rained down, dozens of globes floated and bounced, lasers lighted up the stage. They loved throwing surprises out to the crowd. There was no sign of the celebration dying down anytime soon. The fans loving every moment of it. Dancing while being completely un-self-conscious. He even missed a line or two but he shrugged it off. For him, tonight was not just any other night.
While they neared the end of their show, having just one song to go, he decided that this was going to be it.
Addressing his fans he spoke, "Bangalore! It has been a privilege. Thank you so much for all the love! Thank you for coming out on a Thursday night! Thank you especially for coming out for "EthoS"! Now the next one's special. It is something that is very close to my heart. It is dedicated to someone who is my inspiration, my reason for existence. It's not our usual style, I admit but I sincerely hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed writing it."
"So here goes..
When life leaves you high and dry
I'll be at your door tonight if you need help, if you need help
I'll shut down the city lights,
I'll lie, cheat, I'll beg and bribe to make you well, to make you well
When enemies are at your door I'll carry you way from more
If you need help, if you need help
Your hope dangling by a string
I'll share in your suffering to make you well, to make you well
Give me reasons to believe,
That you would do the same for me
And I would do it for you, for you
Baby I'm not moving on
I love you long after you're gone
For you, for you
You would never sleep alone
I love you long after you're gone
And long after you're gone, gone, gone
When you fall like a statue
I'm gon' be there to catch you
Put you on your feet, you on your feet
And if your well is empty
Not a thing will prevent me
Tell me what you need, what do you need
I surrender honestly
You've always done the same for me
So I would do it for you, for you
Baby I'm not moving on
I love you long after you're gone
For you, for you
You would never sleep alone
I love you long after you're gone
And long after you're gone, gone, gone
You're my back bone, you're me cornerstone
You're my crutch when my legs stop moving
You're my headstart, you're my rugged heart
You're the pokes that I've always needed
Like a drum baby don't stop beating
Like a drum baby don't stop beating
Like a drum baby don't stop beating
Like a drum my heart never stops beating
For you, for you
Baby I'm not moving on
I love you long after you're gone
For you, for you
You would never sleep alone
I love you long after you're gone
For you, for you
Baby I'm not moving on
I love you long after you're gone
For you, for you
You would never sleep alone
I love you long, long after you're gone
Like a drum baby don't stop beating
Like a drum baby don't stop beating
Like a drum baby don't stop beating
Like a drum my heart never stops beating for you
And long after you're gone, gone, gone
I love you long after you're gone gone gone"
Tears glistened in his eyes when he was done .The crowd erupted with roars! He was glad they liked it. I hope it reaches you wherever you are, he thought. He conveyed one last thanks to his fans before he turned around and left the stage thinking this would be the very last time he would get to do this.
Among the 4000+ crowd in the room, there was one soul who stood transfixed, unable to move. Uncontrollable tears running freely down her face. Her last thought being, No! This is not happening! Sanskaar!
