This is one thing I am not very pleased about, but I have not been in tune with Indian literature much. Going to a Catholic school and now being in the states I am much more exposed to western literature.

However, from what little knowledge of Indian literature I have gathered there is a rich literary culture in India. After watching Devdas and Parineeta I want to read the translated English books because I think the characterizations were rich deep vivid and impeccable. One Indian author I have read is RK Narayan. I received his book 'My dateless diary' as a birthday gift and his sense of humor and culture quips are perfect. Usually Indian authors tend to write on deeper subjects. I am more the fantasy fiction kind of person and it will take a while for me to warm up to them in a literary kind.

As for writing sometimes I wish to write a novel. I might get an interesting idea pop into my head but I feel unmotivated to write 500 pages of it. I write RPS fiction occasionally as a hobby. Such an internet cliche and I doubt it has the makings of worthwhile reading.
