With the show's curtains coming down pretty soon, let's focus on the positives. We will have loads and loads of time left to dissect the 'what had gone wrong' and 'what could have been better' once the show ends. For now, let's enjoy the journey and celebrate the moments.
Perhaps the biggest difference between movies and tv shows, is that TV shows go through changes on the fly because of external factors, while the movies too do not always driven by the story, their external factors are fixed, such as image of the actors and audience expectations. Coming to this show, our (the viewers) biggest disappointment in the final leg is what we consider as the laid-backness and lack of maturity of the protagonists. When I look back, none of the other tracks lasted for this long, all the cases got resolved in not more than 4 episodes (with the exception of Bhaghi track, which wasn't a typical case anyway). That made us expect certain level of smartness and quick action from the leads, but this particular track has been going for more than 3 weeks, with no progress on the case front. Yes, it's a complex case which in real life would certainly consume more time to resolve, lot of step by step planning & execution will be needed to resolve the case. But such detailed planning and execution would have needed careful and extensive thinking from the writers / creatives. Unfortunately our writers chose to take the easy way out, and decide to give a quick closure in couple of episodes. In such scenario, the 3 weeks already spent on the case seems meaningless with leads behaviour atypical of them with no intelligence or quick wit whatsoever. And with the 6 episode extension, they are forced to more fillers, which probably introduced this Ananya rash behaviour track.
Coming to the episode, my heart went out to Ananya in her scene with Kabir, she is going through too much. As I mentioned in my post on Friday episode, she needs to let her guard down and lean on Kabir. She keeping her pain and suffering inside and acting brave on the out makes her lash out and behave irrationally. As always Kabir understands her better than anyone, he couldn't even scold her because he knows what makes her behave this way. It was a blink and miss scene, but still was so meaningful and very portrayed beautifully, such scenes makes our watch worthy of the time, isn't it?
Nice to see Khalid still with Team Kabir inspite of all the tamasha going on in KKN, and he ready to take on RG was an interesting watch. KKN losing out the no 1 slot was expected, when there is so much in fighting happens and the EIC is no more focussing on the channel, this is bound to happen. Btw, if Khalid is a friend of KL, why he isn't able to convince KL to sack Shreya for so many days, I remember him talking to KL much before Ronnie's murder, that was just after Shreya openly threatened him about destroying the channel. There are some very nice moments in the past 3/4 weeks, but if we look at the progress made in the story, it is very disappointing.
I liked Shreya yesterday, she was more subtle. And the actor playing RG is doing justice to the role, he is silently menacing. Liked his scene with Anita in particular.
I always liked Kabir - Shreya scenes, yesterday was no different, Kabir knows how to give back to her without degrading himself to her level, that's an admirable trait.
If Ananya was relatable in her scene with Kabir, she was beyond my understanding when she proclaimed infront of the police that given another chance, she will kill RG, that was heights of madness, when she already realised the plan. Shreya did a mistake by calling Khurana for arresting Ananya, if it was anyone other than Khurana, Annaya's situation would have been much worse, and the police would have strongly objected for bail as she is a potential threat,
Kabir and Baby had mirroring expression in that scene, perfect mixture of worry, sympathy and exasperation. Will Shreya ever understand what level she had degraded herself to, having a verbal showdown with a junior employee such as Sunny infront of whole office? Who is next in line to gIve Dhamki to Shreya, Rahul?
The moment of the episode was when Ananya asked RG whether he is joining her in jail ;).
The legal procedures shown were very logical, Yes, just because someone is instigated, one can't be excused from attempt to murder, and it is certainly a serious crime, the lawyer was sensible and looked very authentic. Nice to see Tarini back, and isn't this the first meet of Traini and Anita?
At the police station, Kabir should have reprimanded Ananya again and warned her against meeting RG or Shreya until the case corms to a closure. Annaya is seriously on a destructive mode. She badly needs psychological counselling and change of scene. I won't be surprised if RG calls police again if she goes to confront him.
Another subtle touch, Armaan's 'never say die' trust on his Jeeju ;).
Looks like we will be seeing the happening of the 48 hours in the next 4 episode.. Hoping to see some action packed episodes.
