All there of them tried to sing some of the songs in their own way by adding some variation to the original, aur apne style mein gaan e ke liye bahut-sara taareefein bhi batora. Sunne mein to maja aya hi. Even they were told to have surpassed the original singer and composer.

Poor Abhrokanti! Remember how he got scolded and criticized for adding extra variations/murkiyaan, being sarcastically called "Ustadji"! He was way ahead of his age.

My point is, do you think by adding few extra variations here-there to a already beautiful and well-sung composition one can overshadow the legends of the music industry?

Extra variations can make a song more beautiful or can completely ruin it . It depends how creatively you add those extra touches to the song.It also depends on the song you are attempting.
I do not remember exactly but either ID or Vishal told Raja that people often ruinthe song with extra variations but you hv made it even more beautiful.

I don't think Abhrokanti added his variations intentionally; they came unintentionally into his singing. That is why the judges were criticizing him as he needs to control his voice.

Frankly speaking, these music directors need to think before they speak. Adding extra trills, arpeggios or glissandos to a composition by Mozart does not make YOU Mozart.

However, it is true that a variation can either enhance or destroy a composition.

Variations can be in the form of changing notes slightly or by adding extra punch or feelings at the right places.

You are absolutely right, Abhro did not do the murkiyaas intentionally it came naturally. May be to accept it , was way too big looking at his age. When little champs started he was being treated as a genious for his singing by the judges and they put him in a different league. Then slowly their attitude changed towards him.

I have seen in C2007, contestants add variations, but the finishing is not perfect. Singing in a concert/stage and recording in a studio is different. Take any old song of Jagjit Singh, ask him to sing it today, it will not sound ditto. He must have added lot many variations. My point is, adding variations is good for ears but mentioning it to beat the original is not appropriate.

He tried something which a singer of his age wont do....

So, 👏 For Abhrokanti to try for the changes..

Thanks for your comments. For Abhro, like Tanaz I also think it came naturally not intentionally. His classical base is too strong, it gets there without any extra effort(may be one-two times went little out of control) and it was prevalent throughout the song not just in some places.
