Boundary
The battle was lost some time ago,
but surrender remained unrecognized,
till now
My heart crossed that boundary of friendship;
unleashed an imagination of forbidden possibilities,
never considered before now.
My heart traversed new territory,
tempted by demons,
kept at bay till now
An unrequited soul muted by friendship,
could never call out for more,
till now.
But coffee breaks are a three-partner dance
of nuances, truth and self-delusion
because you're engaged now.
