I'm bored so I'm gonna share my ky2 experience!
One fine day in June, I was bored (like I am today) and felt like watching some cheesy stuff... so came to india-forums! Top rated show was ky2. So it was either gonna be ky2 or yhm. I'm so glad I picked this (but maybe not too much becuase my MCAT score suffered 😕)

Decided to see where the main couple was in terms of relationship at that time. The first scene I saw of manan/pani was the pool party (on the way to mangalore) where manik follows nandini into the hotel and when she looks back, he tells her don't worry! my friends think this is what you want but I know what you want so bare with me. This followed by nandini falling in his arms and his dialogue chhor doon? That scene would not make much sense if you don't know the background...(what does she want?). This got me interested. I watched half a vm on them (didn't want to ruin any good scenes 😛) and then decided to begin.

Since love stories do take a long time to start, I decided to skip the beginning and randomly picked episode 44 (manjha sequence). Things seemed to move way too fast between manan which was a little hard to digest lol. But the first scene that really made me fall for them was the mud sequence. I don't think I have to say why. This followed by the hug, manik on the stairs in the morning sleeping/waiting for her had me awwing. I was in love. The hug was my favourite scene at this point. After about 90 episodes, I decided to go back and watch the beginning episodes and my new favourite scene became the "khabar nahi" song sequence... their chemistry just oozes out of it. Manik singing mann mera... tera deewana hai" was another one of my absolute favs which I watched and rewatched too many times.

Then on, as you can guess, didn't take me too long to get through the whole show. The first breakup, I didn't really feel sad but have to say that second break up had me going "omg please don't no no aaah" 😭. That one hurt a lot.

At this point, can't pick a favourite scene because every single one is a bliss.

This show - don't know what to say! An amazing experience. Never failed to surprise me!

And yes how can I forget cabir! I ship mananbir <3

And after finishing the show, I couldn't stop myself from making vm's. The only other couple that pushed me to actually make vm's was arnav and khushi. So you can imagine what I feel for them <3

Oh yah, should also mention that watching offscreen interviews of pani did ruin manan scenes for some time 😕 but thankfully I was able to look over it!

And my current activity is to read posts on IF on old episodes. Really enjoy reading those! Recently read about the leaf romance... good to know I wasn't the only one laughing at that 😆

To conclude, manan is the only couple that was able to match arshi's chemistry and had a MUCH better love story. They have become my favourite television couple. Love them to the moon and back. And have to say, their love story really changed my perspective on teenage love. Don't judge but I really used to look down upon teenage relationships 😕thought it was too childish. After this show, I feel like love stories ko shuro hona hi high school/college main chaahiye 😛

If you read all that, 🤗

I totally agree with your in craziness for Manan!!
Same happened to me.

My experience was that: well, by pure coincidence, I switched on the MTV channel.
There, was Manik and Nandini talking in the hospital garden.
It was the 104th episode.

Nandini was running away from him and he, Manik, with his husky voice said:

Nandini, agar iss bar you walked out from here, then I athen I swear, main tumhare piche kabhi nahi ahunga!!!!

Then, THE HUG happened!!!
Zara sa in the background!!!
Both were a treat to watch!!
Nandini kiss on his cheeks aawww
The way he looked at her oghhh my god!!!!
It was so intense.

And she said- we can't be together!!! I said to myself: WTH!!!! Why Nandini!!!!

I wanted to find more about this 'couple'!!!
In one week, I caught up all the episodes!!

Since then, I am a Manan fan to the core!!!
I cannot consider other couples to be the best.
For me Manan is just a couple 'out the the box'!!

Hey
Just read your post and went down the memory lane
Same was my experience.
It was Sunday and I was very bored. Had nothing to watch on TV.
By mistake I tuned in to MTV and the repeat telecast was going on. It was the Mann Mera performance of fab5. As soon as Manik started the song. ...i was like awww. N then that line...tera deewana h...and the look that he gave to Nandini. I knew that moment only that I'll watch the show from then on.
N then his realization...
I LOVE NANDINI...suna tumne...I...love...her!!!!!!
I was dead 😳
I blushed whole day
And needless to say, I ended up watching all the episodes in one week.
And from then there was no turning back
Now i just hope to get MaNan back. They are a complete bliss

Hey I also just started quite recently like you about 2 months ago, don't even remember how I chanced upon it. Maybe it was an article on Manan kiss😳. So I directly started with episode 195 and then saw 196, aur phir kya bas baawli ho gayi yeh samarpan dekh ke😆

I had caught a few glimpses of it on TV initially in December but I thought it was shit since I had just finished watching Boys Over Flowers then and was damn sure that the Indian version would disappoint. Also cause while switching channels there was some Alya Fab 5 drama going on and barely any Manan.

But damn was I proved wrong, it far surpasses BOF and yes Arshi (who I loved). The reason being that Manan actually talk and communicate about their feelings and not just stare into each others eyes heaving like the regular lovers on Indian TV do. Aur waise bhi heaving ke liye time kiske paas hain, Manan are toh leaps and bounds ahead of every TV couple when it comes to intimacy, Kamina Manik thodi na door se aahe bharega woh toh seedhe chance maarta hain😆

Plus its not regressive and does not have the silent domestic abuse withstanding heroine, ala Khushi, Nandu really knows how to give it back physically too. I also love that even during their MUs one of them is always pushing hard and keeping the hope alive.

Manan are epic..period and no Indian or foreign romance can ever match up to them. I just wish more people were aware of them like they are of Arshi whose craze is still ongoing globally. I feel so sad when I open the Fanfic forum and it is full of Arshi fics with no Manan anywhere. Hope Viacom promotes this diamond that they have in their possession. Wish the show had aired on some popular GEC but then again they would have diluted the beauty of Manan with their regular cliched soapy tropes, so yeah MTV thank you for letting them retain their essence irrespective of all the recent bull shit.

P.S. I was just downloading your VMs from Vimeo and saw your post. Love Gulaboo😃

Yess!! that is exactly why I love manan so much! The dialogues, the story, their bond...they talk to each other, communicate. And like you said, staring is not what got them attracted to each other, it was their personalities. This is definitely the best love story I have seen on indian television. They have really set a benchmark. They have so much more than just sizzling chemistry. I'm glad this show aired on MTV because like you said, the story definitely would have been meddled with had it been on a different channel.
And I'm glad you liked the vm! I enjoyed making it 😛

I don't think I can follow any other Indian show after KYY. The only show I followed before this was DMG (just first few months). Manik and Nandini have set the standards really high for me.

I want to point out some of my favorite MaNan scenes:

Khabhar Nahin (have watched it countless times)
Diwali (Loved the bold Nandini - very different from the usual FLs)
Hospital terrace break up (Zara Sa instrumental was perfect for the part where Nandidi says "We can't be together" followed by Manik's expressions) and Alvida (Parth nailed that performance)
Saibo
Coconut face conversation at Soha's farm house
(Gotta go...to be continued)
