IN DEFENCE OF RAMAN KUMAR BHALLA

I have seen so many posts bashing Raman. Agreed ..! He as a person has been butchered over one week. But too much of Raman bashing is something I am not able to take cos of my love for IshRa.

Ishitha - Initially her character was developed as a strong young lady who would stand for herself no matter what be it even before her family. It was during Mani's track that we all started feeling her character getting botched and none of us felt the need to create so much of a ruckus and feel bad. In fact not once did we crib her character was changed so much instead we ended up bashing more and bash her even now.

Raman - He was one stable character in the show right from the start. He also stood by the right and went to any extent to prove his loved ones right. One example was Param track. The same Raman did not hesitate to say "dafa Ho jao" even when none of it was Ishitha's fault. In fact it was turned in to a comedy every time and we still took it without criticizing much.

IshRa - They are one couple who are close to being a realistic couple amongst all. Be it love, hate, anger or romance they have always been close to being real. Yes their Consummation was delayed immaterial by CVs cos of their love for drama and numbers but whenever it happened they burned us all alive.

And today this surrogacy track has made us to literally puke and it has come to a point that YHM is almost dead. Mainly because Raman's character is butchered and shagun is the surrogate mother. I am not proving my love for Raman but just can't stand so much of this bashing for the couple whom we went head over heels till last week. Even today he is the same RKB. The person who loves only one person that is Ishitha. He loves her truly madly and deeply. Love beyond one point makes you go crazy and he has reached that point which is called obsession. Not obsessed with baby but obsessed with Ishitha.

She has explained a hundred times that she is happy with Adi and Ruhi but he being the man who loves every drop of her blood and every inch of her soul. And so he wants her to have that baby. Agreed a relationship does not progress ahead only with a baby but he is just overly worried that he wants her to have that one thing so that none of it comes her way without realizing the intensity of the issue in spite of being a CEO. A reminder - IshRa are perfect only with their imperfections. Yes his way of going about it is totally wrong that would piss anyone off but please let's not bash him this time. He deserves this much..!

If there is a need to bash anyone then it's Shagun. It is because of her that both these characters are ruined and we have come to say IshRa is dead. Please please guys we are a large fandom and its IshRa. Let's not allow shagun to ruin it. It is shagun who deserves all the bashing and we all know the reason behind all of this importance.

Let's not hate IshRa in one week and give the people who are waiting for a chance to laugh at and gloat over their delusional pair. Once again I am pleading you all let's love IshRa like before and the bash the other person and not hate Raman or Ishitha for shagun. Yes gutted that shagun is carrying IshRa in her womb who does not care about her own but let's fight for our IshRa and not bash them.

Aru, I am reposting what I commented on your OS.

You know I was a hardcore IshRa fan and I have never said either Ishita or Raman is my favourite. I love both of them with a ferocity. People have until now seen me defending Ishita under any and every circumstance. Even when the whole forum was baying for Ishu's blood, I stood by her.

Yesterday, I wrote on Krishy's thread that I did not have it in me to defend Puttar, but I may find some reason in retrospect. Then I read a comment on the LU, and I did begin introspecting. I looked back over the various episodes and I realized I had to defend Puttar, against all odds.

I need to thank two people for this :

1. Someone commented on LU about Raman and his behavior during the accident track;

2. Ms. Priya Ray, who said Puttar was in character!

Today, I stand by my puttar. Is Raman wrong ? Of course he is! He is duping his wife, he is creating an atmosphere of distrust and mistrust. He has done something that is morally wrong because he is equating Ishita's happiness with her having biological child, and he wants that by hook or by crook. He is unable to understand that He, Adi and Ruhi are her happiness, and she is content with that. He is taking a route that will bring him a lot of pain and unhappiness, which could also lead to him losing the person who he is obsessed with and for whome he is doing all this, his love, his wife, his obsession, Ishita. But in his mind the end justifies the means.

Raman Kumar Bhalla is an emotional, sensitive man who reacts first and thinks of the consequences later. Does that make him a bad person? Of course not !

People are questioning whether he loves Ishita ? Does he ? No he does not just Love Ishita! He is obsessed by her. Ishita is not just his life, she is his obsession! He will do anything for her to the extent that he is groveling before the bitch of his ex-wife, willing to be her pawn again, so that he can give Ishita what he thinks she deserves and wants.

Remember him in the initial episodes of YHM? He was obsessed by Aditya. Remember the Holi incident? He runs after Aditya to pacify him after Aditya sees him and Ishita dancing and he tell him he will do anything he asks? What does he do? For Aditya he is willing to ask Ishita to apologise to Shagun. He realized that he has done something wrong that night when he cries in front of Toshi.

Remember the conversation Raman and Ishita have during the accident track when she finds him coming out of the hotel carrying Shagun in his arms? He knows he has done wrong but he is willing to hurt Ishita to save Adi. In the current track his brain has stopped functioning because he is just thinking with his heart and he is reacting to that.

The same goes for his behavior with Mihir. May be this over reaction of his regarding Rinky is because somewhere he knows that Rinky has played dirty with Mihir and he needs to get his anger out and Mihir is the best scapegoat he can get.

People are going overboard hating puttar, and these are the Raman fans. I would just say, please go to the earlier episodes and realise, puttar has not changed, he still is the sensitive, reaction based guy who gave up his presidentship for Ishita without a thought. Today, he is behaving like a senseless idiot, but he is doing it for Ishita.

Please guys, give Puttar chance.

I don't know if I have made sense, coz to me Puttar is still the same amazing guy that I fell in love with and I fell in love with him all over again yesterday!.

Well I have not much to defend RKB.. Other than the fact that Raman bhalla has been sacrificed beyond recognition in the butchering block to accommodate Shagun's importance in the script. Otherwise look back and think... How would have shagun fit in Ishra's life but for Raman going all nuts about 'Ishita's baby'.

IshRa's consummation,
Ishita's miraculous pregnancy, Miscarriage, (remember Shagun's reactions? 😳
Manoj Shagun relationship
Manoj(who knows Shagun for a few months) lecturing and convincing Raman about Shagun's grand character
Cold Storage CPR,
surrogate hiding diabetes
and Shagun stepping in as the last minute surrogate as the embryo implantation was at risk (because probably thats the only crop of good eggs Ishita has..now all her eggs are impotent) ...

What is the common thing in all that? Shagun's direct or indirect influence/presence in every single one of those incidents. If that is not giving over importance to a character than what is? I'm not even going to bring up the Miracle of Mumbai that changed Shagun's wardrobe to her personality.

But ever since her return, she has been given this omnipresent, omnipotent aura by the CVs. everything has been done to set the path leading upto the day where Raman dupes Ishita into getting her consent for surrogacy...and then within a span of a week we have a newsbyte of Shagun being pregnant. Prior to the CPR incident, if anyone had said about Shagun being the part of triangle with Ishra ..we'd have scoffed as as par the story that has been shown since dec 2013...Raman has moved on..with Ishita. There was no scope of Shagun there.

So why would they butcher Raman so badly that not only would he develop amnesia about the years of torture he and his two kids endured in Shagun's hands, and act like this guy who in his obsession to get Ishita her own baby is violating every vows he took as a husband, the unwritten boundary of trust between a couple, even basic ethic and morality about how Ishita would feel being put in this position. That is not RKB we have known since dec, 2013. Yes he is impulsive, but he has always come around to the right side...but now they have taken him to a place of no return, where his character cannot be redeemed.

And yet I cannot bring myself to hate him. As his butchering is as evident as Shagun's sudden volte face into Saint Shagun. Both were done with only one and one purpose. To increase screen presence of the character...because story-wise Shagun's 'the end' happened in the earthquake track where both of her children witnessed her narcissism and voluntarily rejected her from their lives.

So the question comes coming back since the start of sauten saga...why so much importance to Shagun when the ensemble cast has such a brilliant pool of actors. Shagun was turned from grey, to black to bleached white just in a span of few months. And to do that first Mihika was turned into a dumbo, Ashok was turned into a comedian and now Raman has been reduced to a character with no moral compass.

ALL to justify one character's screen presence. Why this special treatment? What about the other characters...their stories are changed or at a standstill for months.

It stinks of favoritism.

YHM was marketed and started out as journey of three broken souls...is now reduced to a saga of CV's unholy fascination about one character only.

I cannot defend Raman's actions but as a viewer who has followed the journey I can't blame his character as this is not the RKB I knew.

yes raman did amistake but he loves ishita so much and blindly

yes raman is obsessed but not with baby

he is obsessed with ishita

and we love ishra because they are imperfectly perfect couple

and yes please stop bashing

Hi Aru,

I don't hate IshRa at the same time I am not able to see Raman with the same love I had for him.

I was not okay with Shagun being surrogate mother so I stopped watching but still I cannot break the habit and go to lu thread to know what is happening

I cannot love Raman because he is hiding surrogacy from her but I am starting to hate him because of his double standards with Mihir

Mihir stood by him breaking all ties with his sister when he came to know about her extramarital affair but here instead of standing on Mihirs side he took his cheating sister side making him look like a selfish person who doesn't care about others than family if he can do that to Mihir what is Ishita compared to him

I agree Raman character is always impulsive he acts first and thinks later but he was loyal to the core but what they are showing now is not the Raman Kumar Bhalla I fell in love with but a person who doesn't value loyalty that is why the disconnect.

Aru totally agree with u ...just to accommodate JB ishra or rather RKB 's character is screwed royally.

The cv's very well know that it's DivAn/Ishra that sells and no matter what crap they show ppl will see and that's where as viewers we fail.

If we really want to show we loved divan/ishra we have to stop watching and I would say stop tweeting as well.

We just need to boycott it for few days ..and on IF too I guess we should stop having these discussions over how things are ruined...they are fully aware that they are showing crap..there are many SS here which are far more interesting and real than what's being shown

Raman loves Ishita - Its his definition of love that I fail to understand..it feels like he is hellbent on proving to her, to himself and to the world that he is capable of giving her what HE THINKS is the biggest joy/gift of her life..I wish he would pause and look into her eyes...

Shagun has not ruined anything here..I personally don't feel an iota of hate towards her..she is not worth giving much attention to..Raman has brought Shagun into that territory which I consider as sacrosanct between a couple..

Remember when Ishita brought Shagun to their bedroom...I didn't think it would culminate into this..Raman is destroyed beyond hope...sorry my personal opinion Aru.
