Withering under his mother's pressure and society's guilt-trip, the dashing Rana marries the simple, yet stunning Gayatri. Despite his immense love for his ex-wife Sulakshana, he marries Gayatri because of his word to her. To him, promises are everything. We know that the show is based in the 1940s, perhaps that's why a guy who can honour his promise comes across as unique. We wish we had more men like him 2015, eh?

Her immense love and affection was already poured into a letter that reached the Rana, making him realise his wife's genuine pyaar.
